They left U bolts loose and axle was able to move and bend during our long trip to Branson Mo. Cost us $4980.00 to have all new axles springs 4 tires and hardware. We have not made it out the door ! General RV Elizabethtown will not refund our 5,000 down payment! They scammed us big time ! After we agreed to BUY a 3200 Brinkley they told us that the unit that was on there lot was sold 45 minutes ago ! That they would have to bring in a new 3200 . IT WAS BATE and SWITCH ! A beat up POS was shown to us as our new Brinkley. Recliners had the slide out beat up . Kitchen slide had whole from hitting open drawer in Kitchen ! Window that had light of day coming through ! All 3 slides had uneven slide tops ! They were writing a book what was wrong with the unit . Manger sad it was because I didn't like the furniture design ! You bet buddy when it bangs up the slide out . A powder coated metal slot where you litterly had to pick up into was bare to the metal! Brinkley let us know that the have pictures of every unit that leaves there shop ! So we asked to see 3600 Brinkley and decided to upgrade ! We were to pick up 3600 on June 25 th . All work was to be completed and we were too finIsh transaction. Work was not DONE ! TOLD THEM WE WERE DONE....wanted our money back ! Told to bad for you signed nonrefundable down payment ! Now forced to buy from this POS company is what he basically said and what we are left with ! Asked for another chance to make things RIGHT! WOW!!!! I purchased a toy hauler last year, basically an impulse purchase after losing my beloved dog. I sold General RV my toy hauler and they "couldn't" give me the price I was asking for it. They wouldn't even negotiate when I countered. It is in excellent condition. They gave me $2000 less than what I was asking and now are selling it for more than what I paid for it brand new. They will be making almost $14,000. if they sell it at the price they have it listed at. Life lesson for sure. read more

Buyer Beware... Never use General RV, especially in Elizabethtown. What we thought was going to be an exciting and fun experience has turned into a complete nightmare. I would never recommend General RV, especially the Elizabethtown location, save yourself the trouble and go to a smaller family owned dealership. We had to learn the lesson the hard way. During the Harrisburg RV show, we purchase our new RV. Note the RV we purchased was on their lot and not at the show. We drove to the lot looked at the unit and then purchased it through the show. The sales experience was very fun, we felt like we were in the right spot. The sales team made us feel like family we were really excited. Three weeks following the show we made arrangements to pick up the RV. Mind you, we were told they did a 300 point inspection and everything was ready to go. We drove the 3 1/2 hours to Elizabethtown excited and anxious. This is where things started going downhill. Once they have your money you become nothing more than a number and their only goal is to push you through a process and crap you out on the other side. The technician who performed our walkthrough was a nice kid, young, but really did not know much about the unit, we asked a lot of questions and all he could do is write them down to go ask someone. We found a handful of items that needed addressed he wrote them down. Then we went back inside to wait. We waited a longtime (our pick up appointment was at 10:00, it was 3:30 before we went back out to look at the unit again for a second time). This is when we realized not a single key would work in any of the locks, we could not lock the unit to leave which means it had been sitting unlocked since it left the manufacturer. So much for the 300 point inspection. Back inside we went... this is when I realized we had made a big mistake purchasing for General RV. Doug the parts manager was top notch and was trying to assist us. Enter Eric the sales manger (they also never give you cards with their name on them, just blank cards with generic information). I think his role is only to make clients more upset. We explained the problem and Eric smiled at us like he can't understand why we are upset and then belittled us like it was our fault our brand new camper had issues. Eric laughed and said they would just get new locks and install them... Doug (likely the only employee they have that actually understands anything) was backtracking saying this was now a warranty claim and it could be a while until we get parts. After being there all day and still having a long drive home we decided we were done for the day. Tempers were high and we were getting no where. We refused to take the RV that day. Eric said he would call us no later than Tuesday morning (this was Saturday) with a solution. Surprise... Wednesday rolled around and still nothing from Eric. Shocking... Doug reached out at least and provided an update. We needed all new latch locks installed. He was working on getting part numbers. Finally after two weeks we have new parts... great when can we come down and pick up... now we have to get back in the pick up queue. Back into the silo like a barn animal we go. Finally get a call to set up delivery and make the arrangements to now go back a second time. By the way Eric has never once called. After all of this... we arrive. Our RV is parked by itself in the lower lot, the person at the desk informs us it's there and to hook on and go. Seriously?! After all this trouble no one is going to show us that everything was fixed? Not one single manger came to talk to us, nothing. We were left to our own. We took the keys and went and checked every door and latch. Thankfully they worked. Fast forward to today, after getting our RV home we noticed two issues, a screw is pushed through the front of the kitchen cabinet, and the sofa which has a pull out bed has a hole where the Velcro attaches. Both easily fixable. So I call General RV to get a paint stick for the cabinet color and a vinyl patch for the couch. Nope sorry can't do that... you need to bring it back.... 3 1/2 hours. I asked if I could send pictures, nope they don't accept pictures in email, it's against their policy. I offered to FaceTime and show them... nope can't do that either, also against their policy. (But they sure can email and FaceTime to sell you the unit and get your money!). I even said I would pay for the paint stick and patch. Can't do that either. Do yourself a favor, use a smaller family owned dealer for your RV needs and avoid the corporate greed of places like General RV. read more

My wife and I traveled some distance to this General RV location. Upon arrival I was somewhat surprised at not being able to observe a single RV only the building itself. When we entered we were greeted at a front counter and we advised them there was a travel trailer we would like to look at. They called over the PA system and while we waited I noticed what looked like 30 office cubicles in row upon row. This seemed very odd to me. A salesperson finally came over and we told him what we would like to see. Instead of taking us to the trailer he escorted us to his cubicle. He then asked us to be seated to take our info. We did not sit as this seemed extremely manipulative, we only wanted to see the inside of the travel trailer so we refused to comply. He explained that he could not help us and would not show us the trailer. We then left the dealership. We have purchased many travel trailers in our lives from several dealers and have never been treated this way. We have owned two new Airstreams, a Lance trailer and a Forest River E-pro. I'm trying to seek assistance in a problem I am having with a RV that my husband and I have purchased at the Hershey RV show 9/11/25. Rather than type everything out I will attach a screenshot of my earlier complaint and go from there. After reading my complaint I thought everything was resolved. My 6 week wait for my RV suddenly showed up the next day. We were told that we need to finish our paperwork and look over our camper, then have our camper delivered and our trade in picked up on 10/6. Now here we go it's the weekend and my husband is informed they're not delivering our camper on Monday we're just signing papers. I'm not sure what type of business runs like this, but it seems as though no one knows what's going on in this company. I have been in sales for 30 years and never once have I thought about lying to a customer. I would much rather been told upfront what to expect, then told anything and promised everything to get a sale. Salesman "bring it in and we will take care of the issue". Take it in, they said no they wouldn't take care of it. Issues on the camper they sold is that they said was in good condition: Very first camping trip, spare tire explodes and blows out window above it (they refuse to fix) Same trip, hot water does not work at all! (They refuse to fix) Same trip, slide out will not close. Took 2 weeks to have someone go to campground to temporarily fix. The repairman said, "whoever sold this to you, did NOT look over a damn thing". We bought our first camper here and It was a total dud. We took it in for service 3 times for the same issue which never got resolved. Then just more and more went wrong to the point it wasn't livable at all in just 8 months. So we traded it for a much nicer camper. It took forever for them to get it to the point we could take it and it was closing time. The hitch needed adjusted and there was no time to do it. My husband hooked up and left for to go for the winter. Several things were not correct by the time he got where he was going. He took to the General even in Florida to get the work done and was treated very poorly. Needless to say it did not get done. When he returned to our area he took to our local General rv and they will not pay for any of the work that needed to be done before it ever left the yard. We will not go back here ever and I suggest you do t either. Their service is horrible. Well now we have service issues with the second trailer bought here. We took it in and had almost of things that needed done. Some I understood Brinkley need to cover so we called them and they said they would cover. After 3 weeks the camper was still there with nothing happening. We need this camper as we have a business that requires us to travel and it is our home for awhile. I asked if they could just remove the closest that was the issue. I was told that would be fine. So we went to pick up and when we went in when we got it home the closest was still there. I called to find out why and she said they had no where to store it till they got the parts. I was not made aware of this before pick up or at time of pick up. When I called I got no where. So I called Brinkley to find out they are still waiting on General for something so they can send repair parts. I am so frustrated because 2 trailer and hardly anything requested to be fixed was fixed. We have been treated better at other dealership service places. Stay clear of this place. read more

This is the most dishonest group I have ever dealt with. Liars, cheats, and thieves summarizes my dealings with them. I was supposed to inspect my new RV on Friday @ 1:30. I spoke to their assistant sales manager early in the week to make sure the coach was ready for my inspection as I was traveling 450 miles to pick up my new $275,000 RV, and only had Friday afternoon to make sure it's in perfect shape before driving it back from Elizabethtown PA to New Hampshire. I purchased it at the PA RV show the previous Thursday and put down a $10,000 deposit. The coach was moved to the dealership on Sunday evening after the show. It sat on their lot all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and most of the day Friday. This General RV dealership never touched it. The first time it moved was at 1:00 pm while I was waiting to inspect a coach that I was assured would cleaned, inspected, and a complete "pre delivery inspection" had been performed. I was also assured the the coach would have power, sewer, water hooked up and the refrigerator and AC running. I got into the RV around 1:45 One of the theater seats had a big stain on the headrest, the screens in the windows were falling down. There was no screen in the bathroom vent, and no vent cover. The floor was all scuffed and dirty from traffic at the show as no cleaning had been done. That's the small stuff. After the AC ran for 2+ hours, it could not get the temperature in the coach below 86 degrees. The refrigerator could not get below 50 degrees. My technician for the day, had no idea what the buttons on the zantrex did. I told their assistant sales manager Eric that I no longer had any interest in purchasing this defective coach. He informed me that General RV would no refund my $10,000 deposit. read more

I could not be any happier with my experience with Gen RV. Everybody that I had contact with was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, understanding and a pleasure to deal with. Where can you find that in this day and age?! It was encouraging to deal with a company that cares and knows what they're doing. I went to two other dealerships before visiting Gen RV, I would have had buyers remorse to the highest level. Everybody at RV made this experience as easy as possible. BEWARE! GENERAL RV FINANCE IS A LIVING NIGHTMARE! If I could give negative stars, I would. Where do I begin with General RV's finance team? This was less a "process" and more like a punishment for daring to believe we'd actually purchased an RV. From start to finish, the communication was so non-existent, I wondered if they had ghosted me - or maybe that would have been better, actually. We closed our loan through MyFyUSA smoothly enough, but trying to get General RV's finance team to handle their end was like trying to start a fire in a rainstorm with wet socks: frustrating, pointless, and way harder than it needed to be. Every question was met with evasive answers or outright silence, every follow-up was shrugged off like we were asking for the moon. And if you think you'll get any updates without relentlessly hounding them? Think again. They're the masters of leaving customers in the dark, which I can only assume is a strategy to make you forget you even bought an RV in the first place. This experience wasn't just inconvenient - it was infuriating, exhausting, and downright insulting. General RV's finance team should take some basic training on communication, organization, and, I don't know, maybe a hint of respect for their customers. If you want a hassle-free experience, go literally anywhere else. I'm giving the individuals we worked with a courtesy they DO NOT DESERVE by leaving their names out of this review, but for what it is worth, they should not have jobs as financiers especially considering me - the individual asking for the loan - had to define what a co-signer was to the financier which is proof that they don't know how to do their jobs. If it were not for My Financing USA being our saving grace, we would have been screwed over and overpaid by $20,000. Trust the reviews. They are there for a reason. read more

Be very careful with this location and management team. I signed documents that in hindsight, I never should have. They have you sign a document that basically gives them complete rights to withhold your deposit. They also have you sign a document that makes you liable for the unit (meaning you need insurance as soon as you walk out of the dealer and even before taking ownership) and "agree to store it at their location until delivery". This is prior to financing or any additional paperwork being done. I've bought RVs from other local dealers and NEVER had an experience like this. I am now out $2,000 because General RV couldn't deliver the RV, initially offered me my deposit back but then back out of it. Here's how it unfolded for me. Consider yourself warned. General RV sold a unit and agree to a delivery date of October 9, 2024 with outstanding recalls which initially was communicated would "stop sale". The recall which was announced by Winnebago and covered in the national news on August 16, 2024. A total of 46 days passed from the time the recall was announced and the date of our agreement on October 2, 2024. Following our agreement, General RV had not contacted me until October 7, 2024 to inform me of the "national stop sale recall that just came across Mike's desk". This was another delay of several days. A series of conversations were had between 12pm and 2pm on October 7th. 12:11pm - Mike left a VM which I can provide, stating there was a problem with delivery due to a national stop sale recall he just found out about. 12:13pm - I returned Mike's call, completely understanding of the situation. However, Mike did emphasize he didn't know when Winnebago would have a fix and when delivery could happen. I specifically asked, if given this news I could cancel the deal and receive my deposit back. He responded with absolutely, we wouldn't hold you to a sale given the circumstances. I said I would speak with my wife and call him back . 12:24pm - I called and tried to reach Mike and he wasn't available. Left message. 1:29pm - After not getting a call back I tried Mike again. This time reaching him. I informed him of the decision to cancel the sale and he was understanding. After though, I told him in transparency I knew the recall was not new and that other dealers were already fixing theirs. He was unaware of this. The call ended with Mike confirming with me he would contact his team to initiate the refund of our deposit. 1:53pm - Mike calls me saying he has great news, that he did get in touch with Winnebago and they magically have a fix now that can happen in two days time allowing for delivery on Wednesday. I reminded him of our last conversation and he said they were still holding me to the sale. He quickly forgot about the conversation we had and how the 1:29pm call had ended. While the timeline above is very condensed it by no means justifies how General RV is handling the situation. Not to mention the lack of trust that was created. In short, an agreement of sale was made with a more than one month old recall that should have been flagged and accounted avoiding the situation that happened yesterday. My family had made significant changes to our plans after the 1:29pm call, in the short amount of time we will now incur additional costs as a result. All of this could have been avoided if General RV made a better effort. 10/23/2024 They could certainly refund it. However, they are choosing not to because it's the type of business they are. Search Facebook and Reddit. I didn't do my homework and it cost me. I did not simply back out of the sale. It's a lot more complex per the information above. If my lost deposit helps other consumers take another look at what they are signing then I am okay with that. Best of luck General RV. read more

When we were buying the service was ok. After purchasing this place has been a nightmare. Our first year camping in our new 50,000 RV will be mared in memory of broken parts, inability to use the rig as a full TT, and Genera RVs lies/failures to follow up. I feel like their New Renovation and inventory of RVs were more important than us as a customer. I would not step back into this place again except to make a complaint or to bring a law suit. I haven't had the camper and all its amenities as signed for in the purchase agreement. They messed that up too and we had to resign it again. If It wasn't for the great people at and camping family of Alliance I would try to get out from under this and not camp anymore because General RV has made camping in 2024 traumatic in memory and wallet. read more

Looking back now I would not purchase toilet paper in a pandemic from this company. I was stunned they had the 2 stars they have. They must have paid someone to put up a good review! Yelp forced me to give them one star to make this review! I refuse to speak with people who have less of a mental compacity than my 12-year-old. I attempted to contact corporate and another location with no response to my issue. I did speak with someone at a location in another state and she gave me some information, but it was not accurate. I was told to leave a message at a certain phone number, and someone would reach out but when I attempted to call the number I was given, it was not even a number in service. I am not sure if this is the reputation for every General RV, but this one needs to be shut down. I really advise you to do business elsewhere because what is going to happen when you have an issue or need help and there is nobody to answer your questions? Poor management causes the staff to have poor attitudes and poor work ethic. They are very unprofessional and treat their employees terrible and customers even worse. GENERAL RV does not do anything but PATCHWORK. Send your RV or camper in to be fixed and they love to cover up and hide things and lie about it. I really hope someone contacts me soon before I go to the BBB and some other places and file complaints! read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. I originally bought my rig from stoltzfus. Had wonderful service, I walked in they knew me by my rig sitting in the lot. Fast forward to general taking over - no overnight drop off, you now have to lose a day of work to sit in their waiting room. They have no clue who you are and don't care who you are. They don't stand behind their work, only for 90 days. They don't tell you to return to have rig checked every 90 days. Their paperwork in the system does not match the customers paperwork. Quite frankly, I think they added the comment after I complained about the shoddy work they did on my roof and caused $20,000 in damage to my rig. Assist service manager is our policy is 90 days. When I questioned why it wasn't on my paperwork for customer recommendations to bring the rig back, was told it's the manufacturer recommendation. Guess what-I don't work for the manufacturer-General as the middle man for the customer should advise the customer to return in 90 days. Also the notes placed in the electronic file should be reflected on the customers notes. Talk about covering your ass when you screw up. Thank god I had copies of ALL my work orders on the rig. They tread a very thin legality line. When I talked to sales about the rig they were only interested in putting me into another rig. NO THANK YOU!! Buyer beware-general isn't stoltzfus and it's a shame the area lost an excellent RV dealer when stoltzfus got hood winked into selling by general. Now I'm out $61,800 on a lost consignment contract, the roof clean and reseal cost, and the $20,000 in damage to the rig all because general did shoddy work on the rig. read more

I was going to get a new 24ft here but they negotiated in bad faith and had the unit marked up 60 percent higher than everyone. And when caught they got hostile and kept My deposit. They swore at me and threatened me and made no attempt to fix the situation. I gave 3k down deposit. Minimum was $500. They're refusing to give the $2500 difference back which is theft. Sales agent Mike Cucci lied and said it was refundable if something came up. I was never even allowed to speak to a manager. Instead I was handed off to a short tempered kid from High school named Eric. He told Me to F off and that I will never get a penny. That's very nice to steal from someone and deal In bad faith. I will be reporting to the state sales licensing board for review, BBB, and will see everyone named in small claims court. I was very polite in trying to rectify this, but they are in illegal possession of my funds and have made no attempt to fix. Return my extra money above your deposit that you require and I will be very happy otherwise I will be suing for damages in this matter. My husband and I purchased a 5th wheel from General RV in Elizabethtown, PA. Upon taking possession of the trailer, (while pulling out of the dealership) we noticed the trailer brakes weren't working. Immediately the service department came out to begin troubleshooting. To the point, we had between 6 and 8 personnel working the issue, from management to the service guy (thanks Justin! you rock!) After General RV and the manufacturer spoke, they settled on a solution. Unfortunately, we had to leave the trailer there for another day so they could complete the work. General RV not only paid for our dinner that night, but also for the hotel cost, and it was totally a manufacture issue, not a General RV issue. I highly recommend them. We bought a new unit in October 2022 -- I have been back SO many times for them to "document" issues and then "submit for warranty work" and then finally to "get it fixed"......they are so disorganized and literally the management folks hide when customers come in the door and have a complaint. THOR and other brands should be ashamed to even have their name on their brands. And not just me....as I sit around for hours waiting for 10-minutes fixes to be made I talk to the other customers waiting -- everyone has had the same experience since the day they opened. they have now held my RV hostage waiting to get it "in-bay" for the last 14 weeks......Terrible.....just Terrible.....no return calls, no return emails, new services advisors every few weeks....BEWARE !!!!! read more

worst place ever stay far far away from general rv. they saw us coming from miles being new to camping was going to be our first camper after this experience boarder line afraid to go anywhere else if camper sales places are as ignorant as them. they tried to sell us a camper that was destroyed in water damage from leaking tub and roof and covered it up so you wouldnt be able to see it with out having a electric to put slide out the rest of the way. the finance guy Eric is the most unprofessional person we have ever dealt with. very shady place will never ever be back. I took my RV in for a few repairs and there was a lengthy delay in getting a part from one of the Winnebago contractors (not General RV fault). They ended up having my RV for 2 months. When I picked up my RV it had been parked under a tree and was covered with bird droppings. The cabin floor had grease all throughout which took a long time for me to clean. Furthermore, one of the issues (a bad electrical switch in the cabin) was not fixed and I had to leave the RV for another week for this to be repaired. Icing on the cake: someone at General RV broke the parking brake to the point where it needed to be replaced and did not bother to tell me. I found it when I opened the driver door and saw the broken handle. They wanted to have it repaired at a local Ram dealer but I would have had to wait another 3 weeks for the repair. I was assured General RV would pay for the repair if I took it myself to a different Ram service department, so instead I picked up the RV and took it to my local Ram dealership for repair. When I presented General RV with the repair bill ($600) they decided they were going to submit it to the aftermarket seat manufacturer to see if they would pay and declined to pay me until they had an answer. I reached out to the General RV corporate HQ and they paid the bill. Eventually all the issues were resolved, but it was not a good experience and I will not be going back.
