Worse company to work with. STEER AWAY AND DON'T LET THEM WASTE YOUT TIME. The pictures show the confirm time, the time the technician Mike attempted to arrive, the time he arrived and the time he left. All this to waste my time! I received confirmation in my appointment between the hours of 1 and 5. The technician messaged me at 11 a.m. and told me he was on his way. I informed him I was at work and I would not be able to be home until 1 o'clock, which was our scheduled time. He then yelled at me, said he was not coming back, after numerous phone calls I was put in on a three-way with a man named Zach who told him he needed to come out and service my address. Eventually, he agreed he would come back and service my address within the agreed time. After he came in, he was here for two hours working on my unit, all to tell the warranty company that they did not want to work with me. The company never submitted a report. They transferred the case and said that they simply chose not to work with me because I was upset that they wanted to showed up early. When I called the office, the receptionist, Jasmine, was very rude and sarcastic. Simply stated that if the time is between 1 and 5, that I should still be there earlier in case the technician's time changes. I said, that's absurd. How are you going to ask me to be there earlier when the agreed time is between 1 and 5? Then she proceeded, well, if you want a service, then you'll be there. If not, then you can wait for another day. This is very unprofessional, very unethical, not a way to run business. Do not let them waste your time. They will not honor your service time and will waste your time. I'm now weeks after they initially came out, having to start the process over when I have a child and an elderly person living at home, and I have no AC in the middle of summer. read more

I'm a tenant and recently had ongoing issues with the AC unit freezing up and not cooling properly. It would work temporarily if turned off, but the problem kept recurring. My landlord contacted our home warranty company, which sent this company out on July 23. The technician was friendly and said the unit had sufficient freon. He claimed the only problem was dirty outside coils and offered to clean them for an additional $300. I declined and ended up cleaning the coils myself--spent over an hour hosing them down and used a shop vac to remove debris at the bottom. After cleaning, the fan still worked as before, but now the system wasn't blowing any cold air--worse than before the visit. When I called the owner, he claimed it was a "compatibility issue" that would cost thousands to fix. Strange, considering the technician said everything else looked fine and only recommended a cleaning. Also worth noting: the AC unit was built in 2020. It's hard not to feel like the explanation changed once the warranty company was involved. I do not trust this company and would not recommend them to others. read more

Zack has helped me a couple of times over the past year - once to setup a Nest and yesterday to repair my hvac. I have a water sourced chiller unit and was having trouble finding someone knowledgeable to service it. Two other companies misdiagnosed the issue last year when another company incorrectly installed my Nest and the heat and ac weren't working properly. Zack came to inspect it and knew what the problem was right away. He also serviced my unit yesterday and quickly knew what was causing the issue and repaired it for a fair price. We were quickly scheduled with Generations HVAC and they were onsite within a few days. Their senior technician Zack (and his apprentice Bryce) is a miracle worker! He diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes and had a very low-cost solution in place within an hour! Our A/C now works perfectly...hallelujah and Just in time too to help beat down the heatwave that is rolling in tomorrow...whew! So, a $150 solution provided by Generations HVAC versus the $22k solution the "Oh Brother" other guys wanted to rip off us with. These guys deserve 5 stars across the board. This is the 2nd time we needed them out here. Super honest the 1st time they came, to the degree that I hung onto the contact information. Now, today, we had another issue where our AC stopped working in the middle of a heat wave! Not only did Zach come out the same day, but he was able to identify the issue within minutes. In less than an hour our AC was functional again. If you're seeing less than 5 star reviews on here, GO LOOK AT WHAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE WRITING! Extremely poor service. there are much better HVAC companies out there.. Here's the good: tech comes out on a Wednesday and tries to troubleshoot, but doesn't have the materials to do a leak test with him. Says someone should be able to come out on Friday to check it again. Thursday afternoon I get no call from the office so I call them. Zach tells me no one could come out on Friday, but he will let me know if someone can come back on Saturday. But I get no return call on Friday and Saturday morning. I get a text saying the soonest someone could come out would be Tuesday. This is over a week from when the call was placed and six days from the time the tech came out. I text back asking them. Are you kidding? A woman from the calls me, but she doesn't let me get a word in and doesn't want to hear the fact that we should be ableto diagnose the problem sooner than a week from when they were originally at the home. Why didn't he write it up as preexisting on his first visit back in October 2021. It's now June 2022. Instead he took my $200. States that the home warranty wouldn't cover this. Requested the service @ 8:00 am , writing this review @ 10.00 pm. I will also have to fight with AHS. Need a lawyer to sue them. Any recommendations? They charge my credit card for $38 a month. My home has a fairly complicated HVAC, two furnaces serving 3 levels using a zoning system, while the furnaces were not running, my home warranty company AHS sent a service pro first, he told me that he could not handle the zoning system so he left without doing anything, AHS re-assigned this to Generations Heating & AC, initially I was a little concerned & hesitant as I saw its averaged reviews on Yelp, when Zach showed up at my place, my impression was that he is a straightforward & experienced service pro, he found the cause of the problem & helped to order the replacement part right away, then he came back on weekend & resolved the issue, I am glad to have the furnaces running again before the winter comes. The good... after 3 trips here, and over the course of more than two weeks, our A/C was fixed. Zack really seemed to know what he was doing and found the problem the first technician from Generations could not identify. The bad... Scheduling and communication were difficult. After the first tech came, he said "his boss" would come later in the week. We never got a call. Finally called them and was told someone would come the next day, a Satuday. We waited around ALL day, and no one showed up OR called. Later we were told someone was sick, well, FINE, but let us know so that we don't waste our day (sitting in a hot house) The worst... Generations was assigned by AHS, I will write a separate review about them, they are truely attrocious and I already have BBB and DOI complaints pending with them.However, Generations played a LARGE role in our repair NOT being covered by AHS What Zack told us the diagnosis was, and what he fixed, is NOT the same thing he told AHS. To quote AHS, he said "that the wiring was messed up causing the unit to not cool, the contactor and everything has been messed up". No one has been able to give us an actual diagnosis, because as far as I know, "messed up" is not a technical term. Because of this vague diagnosis (which does not match what we were told or what is on our service order receipt) AHS denied our claim because they state the damage was caused by "misuse or abuse." No one has told us how we misused or abused the air conditioner, but the only "use" of it was turning it on June 22. Unless turning on the air conditioner constitutes "abuse" or "misuse" this determination is an out and out lie, constructed for the purpose of not paying our claim. Prior to purchasing our home in January we had a property inspection and at the time the air conditioner ran flawlessly. We never touched it until we switched the thermostat to "cool" on June 22. Generations did not return our repeated calls in which we asked them to revise the diagnosis given to AHS. So, if you are self paying, and don't mind poor communciation, I can recommend Generations for their skill and knowledge. However, if assigned by AHS, good luck to you. read more

Mike, the technician assigned to our work request seemed to care more about completing his "long list of calls today" and how unimportant our call was. He was belittling in how he was treating my wife and me regarding checking up on our furnaces. He advised that he would not check on our second furnace due to insufficient space to place his ladder. Historically, we have had other contractors who needed attic access as well, and never had a problem with attic access, even with a wider ladder than this Generations HVAC technician. Not only was the entire appointment time taken less than 20 minutes, he was also late. The original window was slated for 10 am - 2 pm. No updates were received by 1:50 pm, I had to reach out and call Generations for an update, upon which they said he will be arriving at 2:30. I then get a text message at 2:42 pm that he will be arriving in 30 mins, upon which he was still late and arrived at 3:40 pm. When he was filling out paperwork, he did not leave us a copy of the work order, he asked us to take a photo of it for our records, with no option to send us a copy. In reviewing the actual work order, it looked like a reused work order as all of the contact details, and date of service had whiteout on them. All of these things pointed to a company that is focusing on the number of jobs without quality or care for their customers. AHS assigned this company. I read the reviews before hand and hoped to god I didn't have bad experience. I'm sure they do great work for the 5 individuals. this was merely my experience. technician shows up to residence on a Wednesday and says I need a new blower motor, but can't remove because he doesnt have the correct tools to remove. He stated he will be back in a couple days to remove and obtain model number so they can order the correct part. (Cool) I call their headquarters on Friday, explain the current status and stated your technician Mike said he would be back in a couple days with the right tool.their headquarters said they never received a call and don't understand why he didn't have the right tools. They also almost closed out my ticket marking the job complete. ‍ I made a second appt for the lead tech to come and finish the job the following Monday. that day comes and Zach never shows up, but instead states that my 1976 original lennox furnace motor was inop because of hair, and states they will not complete the job. Plus he won't make any money on it I need to take it up with AHS. I then took it upon my self and removed the blower motor myself in 15 mins, just took a 13mm socket. (super special tool) Issues- 1. Mike never called headquarters to report the issue, he didnt tell them he didn't have the correct tool. ‍ 2. Almost closed out ticket with doing(literally) no work. 3. Spoke with Zach and kept dodging the issue that no work was done and lie that was told, while saying he won't make any money on the job and I need to take it up with AHS. Well. I have to be honest with you. I am VERY cynical. I was extremely gun shy with Generation Heating and A/C. I just felt uneasy about them. I had purchased my house in March and it came with a warranty. I too, included a 1 year warranty with my house I had sold in October; but I never thought I would use mine. Also the fact; I didn't select Generation Heating and A/C. The Home Insurance warranty selected them and I like to have some say so in the matter; but I didn't; but it turned out okay. So last week it was 110º outside and 95º inside. So I called my House insurance company and they assigned Generation Heating and A/C. I thought the first thing the guy would do ( Zak ) would be come in and say; it's hot in here and try to sell me a Air Conditioning unit. There was no way I thought he would even fix my A/C. Really. But I was wrong. I told him the condensers outside ( I hope that is the right terminology; was making noise. Come to find out it wasn't working. He got his tools and removed the panel. Called the air condition company - Lennox. It was a capacitor.And Shock... Zak had the part. My system was most likely came with the house when it was built 20 years ago. I just moved in in March. I didn't want to shell out for an air conditioner. As you can see I have a big house and two A/C system. I thought for sure I would get the hard sell and it would be another week before they could come out. But NO. All done and my house is now cool. I was pessimistic that it would be fixed and done. No selling. Just Zak did what I wanted done. Fix my A/C. We work hard to buy a house. Most of us were not given a house to us. I never had parents / family, unfortunately, that ever gave me a dime; so it was hard work to obtain a house. Also. If you have a nice house then you almost expect that they will over-charge you for being in a nice house and community. But it wasn't the case here. I look at Yelp all the time. Most of the time I find it pretty accurate unless the company has a lot of family members stuffing their ratings. With Generation Heating and A/C; I didn't have a choice since the insurance company selected them. So If I need A/C work done; I very well might give these guys a call since they did what I was hoping for. I also liked how Zak kept me informed where he was. When he anticipated when he would be here. I appreciate it. Zak did the job and seemed like a nice guy. For me. I like a company that is high rated. The people are professional when calling them. They send you a text / email with scheduled times. The workers are here on time. NO windows of Between 8am and midnight. A time that is exact. The workers are neat, clean, knowledgeable ( not duh ) and will go the extra mile. A company that is fair, honest, and professional. For the most part. I should have checked Yelp on this company before allowing my home warranty to send them out. Based off previous reviews and now my experience, it's easy to see that when they're sent out by home warranty they do terrible work. I'm sure they give their A effort for clients paying the rates they are in control of. But when they're getting paid by home warranty rates, expect nothing but headaches. I'll keep a long story short - they came out because hvac stopped working. Technician said it was a capacitor issue and replaced it. HVAC turned on again. Except now while HVAC is on the entire ceiling is rumbling throughout the entire house. I had home warranty order a recall so they could come address the issue. Technician went into attic and advised motor was malfunctioning but it was nothing he could fix and that it had nothing to do with their work. He would advise the office and have them reach out to home warranty. We never heard back - not to mention are freshly painted home now was covered in black hand prints and black marks from the technician which he claimed to clean but still left dirty. After weeks of calling office to get the situation figured out they finally said it was not covered by home warranty for a sound. A sound is something you can hear, a ceiling rumbling is not merely a sound. I called home warranty again today only to find out they put in their report that there was no mechanical issues with system only a sound. Not what they had originally told us. When home warranty called the company to see what the situation was they pulled the "sound" card again and then advised that in their experience "the ceiling was already having that issue". My home was purchased less than 3 months ago and I still have an inspection report that would clearly state whether or not the ceiling was rumbling when the HVAC was running. So your "experience" has been debunked. Home warranty lady was also aware of their reviews with home warranty clients - nothing will likely be done about it so here's your warning if you see this post. They told me I'd missed my appointment because I missed a call from them stating that they were available at 11am (2 hours prior to set appointment, when I was not available). Customer service from Jasmine was atrocious, when scheduling my appointment she was very rude, did not give the full name of the company when I called back from a missed call, so I had no idea what they were calling about. We were advised by AHS that we'd receive a call to schedule an appointment early next week, so I was pleasantly surprised when Zack called asking if he could come today (Saturday). We requested an evaluation of our AC per recommendation of our home sale inspection. Zack was thorough and explained what he was looking for throughout the evaluation. While it was our belief as the owners of the home that our AC works well, it was a relief to have him confirm this and to be able to pass this info on to potential buyers. read more

Ask for a new company or they might sue you. They say my work order was not approved. There was no work order. I paid cash for a service because I was told the AC worked. I have a cancelled check. I wrote several reviews at the same time because I sold my home and moved in a couple weeks. Their service was in June but the inspection was not done until the home sold. Once I was settled I wrote my reviews. Not only is this company incompetent the other review for the moving company was because they did not deliver several boxes, no large rug and broke a lamp. I would give zero stars if I could. I seem to be echoing many others on this forum to the inadequacy of Generations Heating and Air. Seems to stem with American Home Shield Home Warranty calls. I am here to say they did nothing a got paid by AHS for 5 minutes to look at my ductwork from the awesome vantagepoint of 6 inches in my attic with a iPhone flashlight with 35' of attic space and ductwork. Found no issues other than cold air seemed to be coming into the attic from somewhere. But my 30"x 19" opening was too small for the oversized technician to fit into. So after a 30 second assessment of my ductwork with inadequate light source in a dark attic he found nothing wrong and the only statement he gave was; "I can't see anything wrong and I can't fit in you attic, you need to have American Home Shield send another company out to fit in your attic" and left. Billed AHS for service call and closed the dispatch call, saying my access to the attic is "Tiny". American Home Shield is taking his word over mine, even though they can't give me what size proper access to the attic is, just that I need to provide alternate access in order to have Generations tech come back out. I am sure they went to his next 5 min service call to just get paid by AMS, and the next one and so on.. never to fix anything. I am getting lawyer involved now... This is ridiculous and unacceptable. read more

horrible service they sent a tech out and I was told things were loose and that my airflo duct was maybe clogged. called back a day later because of the same issue. Sent another tech and he said the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced and would take a week to get in. The part came in and and the tech could not get it to work so a senior tech has to be assigned. Keep in mind every time they have made 4 hour window for them to come and every time they are late. As I am typing this at 145 pm they were scheduled to be here between 9-1 pm. I even called at 8 this morning to make sure I had the time window correct. Finally got ahold of them and they are saying they have me down from 11-3. Do not use this unprofessional company. No communication. I have been with out a furnace for over a month. read more

These guys are awesome, came out to repair my AC in 2021 after I was quoted to replace my entire (20+ yr old) system from other companies. They were able to repair and get my old system working great again, saving me the headache and my wallet of having to replace entirely. Today, in 2023 my AC was having issues again and so I called these guys and they came the next day. I was fearing the worst as the system is over 20 years old, but luckily it was a simple part that needed replacing and it is working great once again! This is a genuine company that looks out for their customers best interest unlike other companies like ASI who were always just trying to upsell. Home warranty came with the house when I bought it 9 months ago. Never experienced working with a home warranty company, but I'm in the insurance business so I have some experience with having claims covered. I called and reported my York furnace malfunction. At first, they assigned another HVAC repair company and their tech couldn't figure out the problem. He said I have a very expensive and high efficiency heater. Zack from Generations called the next day. He came out and spent about 3 hours on the phone with York customer service diagnosing the problem. He went to the supply store and bought the part that needed to be replaced. He came back the next day and spent another hour or two getting it running. He did ask a lot of questions trying to see if the cause of loss was not covered by the warranty. I imagine there are a lot of people who try to get uncovered losses covered, but that was not the case with my heater. Not sure if there is some kind of pressure put on the vendors by AHS but I would assume they are required to ask these questions since they don't have claims adjusters and are just relying on their vendor/technicians to adjust the claims and also repair the broken items. Side note - read your home warranty policy when dealing with AHS so you know what's covered before you file the claim. I would call Zack again if my heater breaks down. Dude is pretty blunt and to the point which is probably why he gets 1 star reviews, but he can fix your heater when nobody else can. Probably won't be renewing the home warranty, but that is another review for another time... read more
