After being in a rear end collision, I was sent by my doctor to Genesis for P/T. The staff was just phenomenal! Pilar and Rodney are top notch therapists and the girl at the the front desk (oops, I forget her name, Jen, maybe, oh darn!) is always very helpful and pleasant. It was just a few days after the accident that I started therapy (whiplash, neck and shoulders) and I quickly improved thanks to Pilar and Rodney. Dr. Camacho and staff are very professional and all were very positive and friendly. From the initial booking to try and find me an appointment, to each treatment with Dr. Camacho, I could not have asked for a better experience. Although, I did not require long term treatments, I was never forced to book regular appointments. Cost was an issue to me since my deductible was so high. I had paid upfront for my visits and apparently my insurance came back to pay for some of the visits and I had a surplus of $ in my account. I had no idea that there was a credit to my account and would have never known to ask for them to refund anything extra in my account. I was so impressed with their ethical response to automatically mailing me a check with the balance left over in my account! ( it's ironic because I had just spent the past 6 months trying to have a local dermatologist C.H., send me back the extra payment they owed me) It's refreshing to find an honest practice like Genesis. after feeling hopeless with my shoulder stuck to my side (frozen shoulder) for over 5 months i started physical therapy and within the first week i can move again. i was scared to go because of all the stories i heard about physical therapy forcing my arm to move and that would be extremely painful. Genesis Physical Therapy is amazing! When my husband broke both his legs in a dirt bike accident, Pilar worked tirelessly to treat him and within six months he was back to normal life again! Dr. Ray Camacho has been my 15 year old daughters PT for the past two years . We originally went to him for her hip and knee soccer injury. He is an amazing knowledgeable and patient Dr.. I have been to PT's that rush you through your appointment and are not very clear in explaining what is wrong and why. He was thorough and patient in bringing our daughter back to health. Dr. Camacho was thorough in explaining what was happening and why , and what to do to prevent further and future injuries . He made it clear to her the importance of following up at home with the exercises/therapy he prescribed that she needed to do at home to heal faster. He took his time to make sure that she was doing everything correctly before we left his office. I will continue to go to him for all my family's therapy if and when needed! I highly recommend Genesis for PT. They are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Several years ago, I injured my knee and was told I would need surgery. Great experience at genesis!!! I had shoulder pain from my job as a carpet cleaner. I went to places for massage and xrays and more but nobody helped fix the shoulder until I went to genesis. They used a very high tech pulsing tool. The therapist also taught me a great method for extending my restricted range of motion and easing the strain. Im amazed because is worked so well but also because it is so easy to do on my own in the future. Very friendly staff and great ownership. Ill be back. Thanks guys!! read more

I have had 3 knee surgeries and several other injuries throughout my life. Because of that I have seen several different Physical Therapists and I have to say Genesis PT is by far the best PT team I have been to. We absolutely love Genesis Physical Therapy. The entire staff is friendly, caring and dedicated to each person's full recovery. My daughter felt defeated after facing an injury that took her out of the competition season. Over the next few months, her confidence grew as she worked with the staff and they listened and encouraged her to be faithful with her exercises. 4 months later, she is healed. Last year in June I went to this place for PT as I found them in my Blue Shield plan providers list. When I went in they told me they wanted to go through my auto insurance and I was fine with that. After 5 visits they were denied by my auto insurance and then told me they did not accept my coverage. Since this was an auto accident that is still an open claim due to the neck injury there was no way for them to get paid as I was not able to work and the claim was still open they couldn't get paid. Now I've been sent to collection for $255 and get phone calls everyday. This place is a shame and I suggest before making any appointment that you get in writing that they will accept your insurance as the6bsaid they did when I first went there and then they said they didn't. Funny as they are still in my plan providers list! read more

I went to Genesis Physical Therapy for an Achilles Tendinitis issue and was referred by a friend. I began going a couple months ago when the Covid-19 crisis was in full swing, so I was nervous about going anywhere, but needed the therapy. This place is spotless. One of the cleanest physical therapy offices I have been to, not to mention the extraordinary methods they used to keep the office sanitized. The therapists and staff are very friendly, accommodating and very, very knowledgeable. Not only that but the therapy did help give me some much needed relief. One of the best things about going was they are open at 7:30 in the morning, so I was able to get in and out and be back at work by 9 am to start my day. I would recommend this physical therapy office to anyone who wants experts in the field that not only address the pain, but also get to the root cause of it to prevent it from coming back. read more

I don't usually rate medical providers but I feel that this place is well deserving of a positive review. I have been to several other physical therapy offices over the years and this one by far is the best. The place is large, clean, nicely painted and the rooms are calming and private (although the ceiling is open). I called stating that I had moderate to severe back pain and was able to make an initial appointment within a week. I met with Julie who did a thorough assessment and treatment plan with me. She immediately got to work, messaging the muscles that were badly in need of tension relief, she then started with some basic exercises to get me moving, followed by ice and TENS electrical stimulation. The next sessions were easy to book and Erica and Cynthia did an excellent job each week. The aides are amazing as well. I couldn't have progressed (the exercises do get harder) without the help of Odette, Rodney and Matt. The staff turn pain and discomfort into fun. I'm serious. If I could go every day I would. They even have a monthly option to come back on your own to exercise with a plan they create for you. read more

I was feeling like a younger version of myself swinging a sledge hammer to help a 70+ yest old neighbor who was chopping wood. I felt great doing manly things and helping my neighbor. Then later that night... yup, back pains! I couldn't walk or sleep comfortably. Back spasms, cramps and pains. I was referred to Dr. Ray Camacho by a friend and even though it wasn't near to my home I visited his office in Simi Valley to get checked out. As soon as I entered I was impressed. His staff welcomed me right away and even though it was a rainy Saturday other patients were already being treated back to health in the early morning hours. They have modern equipment and a clean and spacious facility. I received undivided attention, therapy and was taught exercises to help my healing process. By the end of my session I felt better and within a few days I was back to normal. If I have one regret, it would be that I only needed one session. I was actually looking forward to a second visit but didn't have a reason for it. I recommend Genesis Physical Therapy without hesitation. read more

I started going to Genesis Physical Therapy three months after having spine surgery. Prior to surgery, I was an avid hiker but lost all stamina and ability to hike after surgery. Here I am now six and a half months after surgery and I'm almost back to normal. I had another follow up appointment with my surgeon today (6/2/14) and he stated that the recovery I have made is nothing short of a miraculous. He said the high quality therapy I was receiving was clearly the reason. Choosing Genesis for my physical therapy was the best choice I could have made. Called for an appointment for physicial therapy for my back. We already went through booking the initial appointment and I got a call stating there is an opening earlier than my original appointment. Becky and the office manager completely disregarded everything I said and only hung on to the one little part of how I Injured my back 20 months ago. Something about not letting me use my insurance that I pay for, even though it is accepted at this location and recommended by my primary care physician. Basically it's too much paperwork and this business doesn't want to deal with it. This company does not want to fight for you even if you are in real need of help. They will not help you understand why insurance companies are so unfair. They obviously have a bad reputation in working with insurance companies. They will just turn you away. What a horrible business. It's your job! Office manager, I hope someone breaks your back and you call the appropriate place after much research and failed attempts looking for help and you get some rude bitch on the phone who tells you she won't help you because it's too much paperwork. You are horrible at your job and you should be fired! read more

Excellent! The entire staff at Genesis Physical Therapy was compassionate, professional and knowledgeable. I had a terrifying injury to the nerve in my left arm that left it completely numb and without motor function. All inquiries, as well as, my doctor said it had a relatively poor prognosis. If it was to get better, it was going to take a long time in therapy. At Genesis, I was always greeted cheerfully by Kim in the front, chart ready to go. The head physical Therapist Katie, was responsible for my evaluation, advanced treatments, and exercise regiment. She was great and in charge of the therapy that ultimately brought my arm to full function. I couldn't have asked for a better Physical Therapist. This was followed by the continued treatment and exercises that the other therapist performed. Barrett and Rodney helped and were patient and thorough. They were skilled and quite knowledgeable. The facility has very nice equipment in a spacious room, with many private rooms. When I hit a frustrating plateau in my recovery, the staff tried different treatments until I was progressing again. The staff works cooperatively to help their clients reach their goals. They have several private rooms where the PT works on you or where you have your electrical stimulation for pain issues. I've been to other PT centers where there were no private rooms. Pilar does magic with her "kneading" and pulling and massaging to get my shoulder aligned. I saw improvement in my range of motion after only 15 minutes of her hard work. Pilar, along with the other therapists and assistants, are knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Genesis Physical Therapy has the BEST Therapists and staff. I had to have a Total Knee Reconstructive surgery 10 weeks after having my first baby. I went to a physical therapist out of convenience close to where I lived. WHAT A MISTAKE. I was seeing this guy for 3 weeks and made no progress. My Doctor recommended Genesis Physical Therapy in Simi Valley. It was a drive for me, but at the first visit with Genesis I made more progress than with the other therapist. Not only did they help me physically, but their staff is so welcoming and positive that it turned what started out as a terrible experience into a great one. I've seen first hand the excellent care my mother has received from the therapists that work with her. They treat my mother respectfully, kindly and patiently. She looks forward to her appointments. So a few weeks ago when the "surgeon" told me there was nothing he could do I asked him for physical therapy. He was reluctant but did the order anyway. On the order he circle another p.t. in my area. For some reason I chose not to go there and chose Genesis on my own. Through the very capable hands of Lauren, she discovered that my pelvis is off kilter and started working on that. I felt like I could fly! After only 5 sessions I feel stronger, healthier and more able than I have in years. Now, Lauren does not work alone, there is a whole team of very driven people who's soul purpose is to get you feeling better. They are polite and ask if it's ok if the move you or touch an area that may be questionable, like the top of your thigh or near your coccyx. Sure it might be uncomfy for a bit but it's well worth some pain for a few minutes to get the job done so you can heal and be pain free. The facility is small but large enough, it's clean with no icky smells and they they are oh so careful with their patients. God bless each and every one of them. I know He blessed me by sending me to the beginning of a new me, back to Genesis. read more
