We signed and paid on a Wednesday, with work scheduled to begin Friday morning. I took off work and waited at the property. No one showed up and no one called. I had to contact the office myself to find out no one was coming. Work did not begin until the following Monday. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of a pattern that continued throughout the entire project. We repeatedly had to call for basic information about the status of our property. Calls went unanswered, promised callbacks did not happen, and we received vague or conflicting explanations about staffing and project status. At one point, a company employee called and had to ask us what condition our property was in and whether the house had running water. We should not have been responsible for updating the contractor's own staff on the status of their project. After the plumbing work was performed, we were told the remaining step was inspection and that the office would coordinate it. We waited, repeatedly followed up, and eventually contacted the permitting office ourselves. At that time, we were told there was no permit or application on file for our property. Meanwhile, an approximately eight-foot trench remained open in our front yard with plumbing exposed for weeks. After nearly a month of problems, we requested a refund and asked that no one from the company enter our property without authorization. The owner confirmed in writing that no one would do so. Despite that, workers arrived at the property without coordinating an arrival time with us. We received an automated notification that a technician was en route, but no inspection time had been provided. We had to call the inspection office ourselves and learned that the inspection window was 11 a.m.-1 p.m., although the company arrived hours earlier. When my husband questioned the technician about why they were there, the status of the project, and the conflicting information we had received, the company subsequently texted us accusing my husband of "harassing" the technician and stated that they had called the county and canceled the permit. This experience goes far beyond poor communication. It has involved a missed appointment, repeated failures to follow through, poor internal coordination, conflicting information, weeks of chasing answers about our own property, an extended open excavation, and ultimately being told the permit was canceled after we asked questions about what was happening. We have documented our communications, calls, property condition, and timeline. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

The technician arrived and determined the issue was a faulty bathtub drain spout. I offered to go to Lowe's to get the replacement myself, but he mentioned he had one on the truck and said it "wouldn't be much." To my surprise, the final bill showed the part marked up more than 400% over retail. I completely understand that plumbers charge for convenience, expertise, and overhead--but the extreme markup felt misleading, especially given his comment that the part wouldn't cost much. When I called the office to ask about their pricing, I was transferred to someone who oddly compared plumber fees to what a doctor would charge and seemed irritated, as though I was devaluing their work. It was an uncomfortable conversation. Thankfully, another representative eventually got on the line and offered a $60 discount, which was processed quickly. In the end, the issue was resolved, but the pricing transparency and customer service experience left a lot to be desired. I recommend asking for a full estimate--including part pricing--before agreeing to any work.

I was in need of a Charles County, MD approved and certified plumber to come to my home to conduct a backflow prevention test. This is supposed to be an annual test, but I have been living here in White Plains, MD for 16 years with a sprinkler system and this was the first notification letter that I received concerning an annual backflow test. The owner, Paul was so very patient with me from the start. I had lots of questions as to what the test involved, average pass vs. fail rate, circumstances and the procedures moving forward for a pass and fail rating. Paul spent quite a a bit of time with me listening and providing his professional guidance. He then arrived not on time, but earlier--with notice-- which was a bonus for me as well. He checked my system which included educating me as he performed each step. He is truly a backflow expert. He left me with a pamphlet explaining backflow and he even MADE me a new cap for my sprinker system! I will be using this company every year for my annual county backflow test. read more

We have always found Genevie plumbing to be reliable and efficient. Called for a early morning emergency (before Office hours) We had a repairman within an hour. Gave us a temporary fix to the leak and told us to order new faucet fixture. No charge!!!! Until they installed the faucet! We have had them track down a mystery water leak in a three story house with four bathrooms. Prompt, efficient service, always explained the problem and charges were very reasonable. They come to fix water line leaks in our barn, you need them, they will be there. read more

I have been reading the reviews on Genevie and I feel compelled to write my own. I have worked with Genevie Plumbing before many times and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences. I find it entertaining that some people call up asking for a service and then do not want to pay for a professionals time. While there can be miscommunications that happen, I have never had any issues when it comes to their service. I highly recommend to everyone. read more
