Our experience was "Ok". The service was good ,meal was made with fresh ingredients and salad was the best part.We went for lunch and ordered the "special"-a grilled cheese with fires.The sandwich was OK-a bit greasy for my taste but my husband didn't mind it.The fries were disappointing -let;s leave it at that. For the prices, we expected better .The pros are as mentioned above and the response of the owner when I questioned the types cheeses on the sandwich.She left the kitchen and came to speak directly to us.Her explanation was was helpful..Should we end up in the area again we would give it one more try and opt for the salads over the sandwiches. read more

I have been to this restaurant at least 4 times and done take out dinner as well. It is remarkable. The food is delicious and fresh. We have loved Genevieve's sandwich shop and were thrilled that she was going to have a full sit down restaurant . The ambience is lovely and the food is even better. I have brought my two young boys to brunch and they loved it. As Doylestown Borough residents we are thrilled to have another quality restaurant to frequent in town. read more

Very quaint and cozy. My husband and I had a lovely Friday night dinner at Genevieve's. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The food was the star of the show for sure. Everything was absolutely delicious from the starters and pasta, to the main course. We only regret that we were too full to try something from the dessert menu (which sounded wonderful). I just ate here for the first time, but I'll be back again for sure! The menu was unique and loved that it was BYOB! My friend convinced me to let her pick something from the menu, since I'm not usually willing to go out of my food comfort zone. I would have definitely gone for a pasta dish, but instead tried the Farro Croquette. This was so tasty. I will definitely come back and try something new each time! Wow. What a joke. As a local chef I can say you have really pulled the blinds over your customers eyes. Heads up, primi means first which would be a first course - not a 24 dollar plate of non homemade bucatini pasta with leftover BBQ pork shank being advertised as a short rib ragout? When do appetizers have a $20+ price tag outside of New York?? Food better be damn good (which it's not). Stale bread. A mussel and sausage dish for $14 with the ingredients carelessly tossed in and a portion size I would have expected from a happy hour pub menu. Where are your standards? Flowers dead on the table, totally average service, and overly priced extremely average food. What more can be said. Oh, and the chef on her phone in the foyer the whole time and not in the kitchen where she belongs. Bottom line, a place like this wouldn't EVER survive outside of Doylestown - the competition would put you to shame. read more

My wife and I went to Doylestown on Mother's day to visit the Mercer Museum since we wanted to get out and we hadn't been there in years. Afterwards, we decided to walk around town for a bit - got some chocolates from Raymer's and coffee from the Zen Den as we wandered in and out of local shops. Of course I had to make a trip to Monkey's Uncle to see their sports apparel and we saw a cute restaurant next door, Genevieve's Kitchen, and decided to head in. Because it was Mother's Day, they were pretty busy, but luckily the great wait staff showed us to a table. I'm so glad we went in because everything was AMAZING! We started with the asparagus dip (so cheesy!) then I got the wild boar toast and my wife, the sweet tooth, got the French toast. Of course, we had to get a side of the truffle fries which our server highly recommended and they did not disappoint! Everything was so good! Perfect portions and flavors! We finished it all and we were wishing for more. We didn't have any bottles with us since it is a BYOB, but we were totally satisfied with the food, service, and ambiance, so we will be back for dinner and will be sure to bring some drinks. Went to Genevieve's last night with girlfriends for dinner. First and foremost the ambiance was so inviting and relaxing. We were tucked away near the fireplace. The server was very accomodating to our (4) bottles of wine and handled our high maintenance with a smile when she had to open each one b/ we all drink different varieties! Now... the food. The bread is so rustic and hardy with the pesto olive oil. For appetizers we had the prawns and the calamari. The prawns typically only come with (3) but Genevieve noticed there were (4) of us and added a fourth. The prawns were over the most fabulous parsnip mash. Next we ordered dinner and chose the Ahi Tuna cooked rare, Vegan burger, flank steak and the char. Oh MY GOD!! Everything was so good. Genevieve came out several times to touch base on her patrons and we couldn't praise her enough. She truly has a gift! And by the way.. do not skip dessert. Lemon polenta pound cake!!!! read more

I met a friend for dinner midweek. The place is nicely decorated and the server was friendly. My friend ordered salad and pasta and was happy with her choice. I ordered the grouper. It was good, but there were two problems. Grouper is a firm, white fish which is very versatile; the sauce and accompaniments were delicious, however, the chef neglected to remove the very tough membrane separating the two sides of the filet. It was most unpleasant to have to dissect the fish on my dinner plate in order to remove the inedible part of the fish. This would be unacceptable in a fine dining restaurant. The second issue was my own fault. The menu listed "market price" for the entree and I should have asked. I had a bit of sticker shock when the check came...it was $30! If I had known that I definitely would have mentioned the problem. I doubt I would return here. There are too many other good spots in the area. read more

Wow! I can not even begin to say how wonderful the food was. We went in a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night. I could not get reservations (I made them Saturday about 1pm) until 8:30pm. Oh well. The food was SUPERB. Everything had it's own flavor and taste. Prepared perfectly. We had appetizers, calamari (not too good), some mushroom bruschetta, WOW! and some crusty bread with melted yummy cheese, another WOW! I had the ahi and substituted cauliflower for the mashed sweet potatoes. I was so enthralled with my meal, I am not sure what the other's got! Sooooo good. We had desserts (pigs!). The Lemon Polenta was a wonderful surprise, so good and very unique. Genevieve's was recommended by my friend who does my hair, Lynne Anne, and boy was she right. DELICIOUS. The only concern is we felt rushed to order. Maybe they should not take reservations at 8:30pm if they need to be out at a certain time : ) But, food-wise a 5 star. Yuuuummmmmmy! Had dinner with 3 others over the weekend, although we had no reservations and just walked in off the street at about 8pm. We were seated at a nice outside table on a perfect August night and the experience was fantastic. All 4 of us ordered different entrees and we shared a couple of appetizers and ALL of the food was top notch...well prepared & presented. Portions and menu are small, but quality is big. This is clearly an eatery where the chef/ owner takes great pride in her offerings and we will absolutely be back again. Selfishly, I hope more Doylestown diners do not discover this place, because it really is a hidden gem. I took off 1 star because this place is BYO (which is totally cool) but one of my dining mates asked for a Diet Coke and was told that no sodas are available. Look, I get that many folks do not drink soda, but for those who do not drink alcohol, it is a go to drink of choice with dinner. Having a small inventory of sodas available is a small effort to make. But hey, if that is my sole complaint about the place, you know it is a nice find.
