Smelled of horrible old bucket water, as if the rags and water they use to wipe the tables off hasn't been changed...ever. Which is kind of off putting for a place I'm gonna be eating at. The table we were sat at was dirty, so we moved. The frozen margarita machine was "out" so that wasn't an option, which sucked. The food was good, cooked how I expected it to be cooked. Depending where you go there, you could be in for some trouble. When the restaurant is crowded some ingredients aren't always available. Sometimes the food tastes better than others, and I think that is also due to how busy they are.. This place is a hot or miss place.. You build it and they cook it. First off the we were greeted and seated promptly, the dining area was clean, but not very busy. I guess it would be nice if there were more details on what the flavoring were and spice level. The food was cooked well and quickly. The negatives I have are not all people in our party were told the the Medium came with 2 sides, and more importantly the beef had gristle and not just 1 or 2 pieces. I honestly did not feel that I got value for the money that was spent, the portions are smaller than most Mongolian Grill places and I cannot honestly say the ingredients are of a higher quality. Amazing wait staff! Busy location I suppose on a busy night the wait felt like nothing because the staff was so attentive and kind. This was my friend and I's second visit and we were far beyond impressed, and 100% returning/ recommending this location. Our server's name was Christian he was AMAZING so kind and polite!!!! This place is a must for people who are health and fitness conscious. You get to choose a small, medium or large bowl that comes with a very LARGE selection of meat, veggies and brown/white rice or noodles. What I like the most is that you get to handpick everything yourself and put exactly the right amount of whatever ingredient you want (perfect for picky people). You can even choose exactly how much seasoning and sauce you want! After you have filled the bowl you hand it over to the cook. They pop it on the grill and cook up some delicious HEALTHY food! My wife and I went to dinner last night there and we were very impressed with the service. Our server Brian was excellent. He told us right off the bat that they were understaff and that he will get to us as soon as possible. It didn't take long at all. We had our drinks and order in very quickly. It was a pleasant surprise how efficient he worked even though they were understaffed. Brian was treating us like we were his only table. Just great. This is probably more than this deserves today. First off brought a friend from out of town to try this place for the first time and she is not pleased with the customer service. We ordered 3 bowls Togo. First off Nolan had an awful attitude and was very snippy with us. We tried to pay and all he could say was put your card in there. Genghis grill rocks so hard. It's like that other place that's like this that I can't remember the name of down on South Cooper past I-20, only way better. This place has some damn fresh ingredients. You make all your own food and then they cook it for you. They have everything you could possibly think of here for food items. Like 12 kinds of meat, including sea food. Went here for a birthday dinner coupon and the food was delicious. The service was good, but failed to tell us how to users cards they provide. the Mongolian food was very good. One of my fav restaurants to go to where the food is made for you Hibachi style! You can pick one of their flavorful bowl recipes and simply follow the instructions to create the same dish or if you're like me and like variety then you can make your own! Have a seat while waiting for your bowl to be brought to your table hot and fresh. I strongly recommend the Pot Stickers while you are waiting! They are delicious and a wonderful treat. read more

I actually went here a few years ago with friends but I do remember my first impression. Maybe the flavors I chose did not combine right. I thought the food was horrible. This places delivery system is a joke. We ordered our food at 8:05 pm with an estimates ETA of 8:45... at 845p, I received a text that my food would be delivered at 8:40p (yes, you read that right .. they text that my food would be delivered 5 minutes before I got the text), so I called the restaurant and they said my food was ready bagged and sitting waiting for a driver (apparently they use uber eats and door dash to deliver even though I ordered through the restaurant directly). I then received a call from the driver at 900p saying that he has been waiting outside the restaurant and was told its still being prepared. He even got someone from the restaurant outside handling curbside and they told me the same thing.. the food was being prepared. I hung up and then received and email that my food was in transit. I called the restaurant right back and they said the food was picked up ten minutes prior. Long story short these people have know idea what they're doing and have no clue how to properly coordinate food when their drivers arrive. My food arrived at 915.. and was cold AF. I hate this place and will never go back. read more

I've eaten at several other Genghis locations before. I am a fan. The food has never disappointed. This particular location seemed to be understaffed and in need of some organization. But the food was good nonetheless and I enjoyed my meal and visit. Thanks in particular to my waitress Maddie. Me and family members were craving stir fry and decided to go to this location. We had been here before and had no problems but we will probably not be back after this visit. We were seated quickly and had no wait time, which was good considering it was during lunch hour. We were sitting there for almost 10 minutes and our waitress finally comes for our drink order. After ordering drinks, she came back with the silver bowls to build our stir fry and 2 of the 3 were dirty. We told her immediately and she came back with new ones; however, they were completely soaked as if she just rinsed off the dirty ones herself. The line to build our bowl went by quickly but when we got to the end, the cooks were really backed up- causing us to wait a while for it to be ready. When we finally got our food, we had realized that we weren't given any silverware. We looked for our waitress everywhere and she was no where to be found. We had asked other waiters and were given 2 of 3 forks. The gentleman said he would be back with the last one and never returned. So we had to ask another waitress since ours was still no where to be found. She acted very quickly and made sure we had gotten the last of the silverware and napkins. When we looked around, we finally saw our waitress behind the bar! It had been well over 10 minutes and we had to reach out to other waiters for services. The food was very good and definitely fit our cravings; however, the service was absolutely awful. Would not recommend this location! read more

The opening presentation wasn't to impressive. With clean tables available, I was directed to a table and waited until it was cleaned. Then the server introduced herself and took the drink order. The selection was any thing you could ever want in a stir fry, the organization was very good. When the food was ready, one waitress picked up two of her orders and told my waitress, mine was ready and not responding, a waiter had filled in for her to deliver my meal. I may be spoiled to locations with a ambiance or at least one with exemplary service. Upon leaving one of the ladies from the staff thanked me for dining with them, which made me fill like some one cared. My waitress spent a good amount of time with the group next to me and even supplied them with carry out drinks, in her defense; she did at least bring me a refill during the meal. I wanted to share my experience with Yelp on a recent complaint sent to the corporate office for Genghis Grill in Arlington. I've attached my complaint and their response. Happy readings:) On April 14th, I ran across a 'birthday bowl' email sent from Genghis Grill (for my April 12th birthday). Not realizing the offer expired on my birthday (which is odd by the way), I called our closest Genghis Grill restaurant (Arlington Highlands in Arlington, TX) to see if there would be a problem using it. I asked to speak with a manager and 'H****' (who I later found out was a host) assured me the birthday bowl coupon would be honored as they're normally good for the entire month of your birthday. So, my husband and I decided we would get two bowls (to-go), one for me (the birthday girl) and purchase a bowl for himself. When we arrived at the Arlington Highlands location, we were greeted by H**** (I did not know he was the gentleman I spoke with earlier over the phone). He instructed us on the 'new policy' for making bowls and told us to check-out at the bar. Once we got our bowls (mine was ready first), I proceeded to the bar area to check-out and was helped by 'G******' (did not know her role or name at the time). I told her that I got an approval to use the birthday bowl coupon from a young man I spoke with earlier (could not recall his name, but mentioned he may have been the manager). I further explained that I would be purchasing a 2nd bowl for my husband. First, she corrected me and said she was the manager and could not honor the birthday coupon because it expired on April 12th, but would give me a "percentage off" the birthday bowl. I told her I wasn't happy with just the 'percentage off' because the whole purpose of my visit was to redeem my free bowl and purchase a 2nd one. And, if there was a problem with using the coupon, that should've been explained to me earlier when I called. She said, "Well, that may have been a host you spoke to. Also, there has been a recent change with the birthday bowls where coupons were valid the entire month, but not anymore; so, I can't honor it." Well, of course, I became upset and said if she couldn't honor the free bowl then I wasn't interested in taking either one home. She said, "Okay "and appeared to be done with our conversation. Before my husband and I left, we expressed to her that we felt it was poor judgment (as a manager) to not honor what one of her employees said to a customer AND to allow money be thrown away (especially on a slow Tuesday). You're losing money on not just one bowl, but two. My husband and I returned to the restaurant a few minutes later. He went back in to get the names of H**** and G*****. H***** actually admitted that he spoke with me earlier over the phone and apologized for the misinformation (this confession took place in front of G******), but it changed nothing. _______________________________________ Response from Genghis Grill Corporate Office: It would be my pleasure to assist you! I apologize for all of the confusion that took place in the store! Our Free Birthday Bowl policy has changed as of November of 2014. It is applied to your account on the Monday of your birthday week and expires on that following Sunday. Due to your birthday falling on a Sunday this year, it expired on that day. The management of the store was unable to honor your Free Birthday Bowl on the store level because of the way our POS system is programmed. In order to attach a Free Birthday Bowl to your receipt, they must have a valid Free Birthday Bowl on your account to attach. If there is not a Free Birthday Bowl to attach, there is an error message that appears, stating that the attachment cannot be completed. Unfortunately, we do not have alternative to this redemption within our POS system. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. __________________________________________ I don't know, but after reading their response, I'm not getting the 'true' feeling that they actually care about my experience. Gross gross gross! The raw meat was mixed with the other raw meat in the Buffett line! Looked down the line to see if it got better and it didn't! The entire place was a mess! No one wanted to clean that day apparently. We left a tip for the waiter for wasting his time but we walked right the hell out. I ate here recently and got food poisoning. Overall, I had previously liked this restaurant as they have a lot of choices. Service is excellent. Sorry but the food poisoning is a definite deal breaker! I ordered a large bowl on Saturday night. I had pork and chicken together with lots of vegetables. Sunday at about 10 a.m. it hit. my husband and I decided to try this place and when we walked in we had to immediately take our jackets off because it's pretty warm in there because of the open grill.. I must say it was a very different experience to go through the line and pick out raw meat but I guess you can't get no fresher than that when you pick out your meat and veggies and then they grill it fresh right there on the spot. you can get a different bowl combination everytime you go and that's nice. and the beers are $2 every day all day and that's even nicer.. I enjoyed my personalized bowl, my two Stella Artois beers and my husband's company so we will be returning very soon. read more
