We ate here with a small group of friends yesterday for lunch. The food tasted amazingly good. We tried the fried rice, steamed white and brown rice, egg rolls, and iced tea. Some had the orange chicken (everyone loved it and the amount of chicken served was generous). One of our party had the endless rice bowl and tried all the different meats eventually. Cooked well and it was fun to try everything that way. The iced tea (both sweet and unsweetened were ordered) tasted like slightly flavored water. When I asked the server about the weak tea she stated that they only use one tea bag when making the pot of tea. If you enjoy very weak iced tea then give it a try here. One of our party really liked it sweetened. The service from our server was poor, because she did not seem to be able to comprehend and remember anything we said. She also did not check in on us and we couldn't get her attention for service. Two of our four orders arrived to the table with the wrong food and had to go back, so we waited a really long time for half of the food. We weren't able to all eat together at the same time, which is what we expected to do at the restaurant. She did not offer to refill our drinks or water until after we paid the check and were ready to leave. She did bring us napkins when we asked for them. The ambiance was okay. The decor seemed fresh; however, the dining area floor was visibly dirty and the women's restroom was mostly out of order. The music was so loud in the bathrooms that it actually hurt our ears. I don't recommend using the women's bathroom here. Eventually we asked for assistance from another waitress and she was quick, courteous, and accurate. I would recommend this place if you have plenty of time and if you try to get a seasoned waitress. The food was delicious and all of the staff were friendly and nice. read more

I absolutely love this place! I don't know where I have been but I have lived in the area since 2016 and never ate here before . My daughter told me about 3 weeks ago to download the app to get a free bowl.. I figured it was free couldn't be good.. however! I have been back 3 times since then. My food is always hot when I come to pick it up . I love the potstickers and the Teriyaki chicken quesadillas ! I always order a small create your own bowl and it's so much good food! I also love that they send plenty of rewards to the app as well! My food experience here has always been great! read more

I am new to Texas. Been here a month now. Went on my first date on Friday, September 20th to Genghis Grill. Food was delicious. However, I have it 3 stars because we didn't receive our appetizer until we were almost finished with our entree. They actually never put it in to order. Also, they didn't have the food bar stocked up. There were things that weren't there when we were in line then things came out afterward. Also they didn't have any plastic cups to take home sauce. Took a while to get water. But....the food was good. I got a small and the bowl you put all your raw food in is very small but once they cook it its a lot when they transfer it to the bowl you eat out of. I would go back to give it a second change. Terrible service. Staff stood around chatting while we stood at hostess stand. No interest in greeting and serving customers. Finally seated, and again no service. So we left. Plenty of staff standing around (about 6), few tables (5-6). Been coming here since they opened and it has continuously gone downhill. Came in with the husband for a lunch date. I had never been before so the concept of picking your meats and veggies and making your own sauce was awesome. Is the food bad? No it's really good. You get the option of noodles or rice or eggs or whatever the list had. My food was delicious (well duh I picked what I wanted lol). The food wasn't the problem. My problem was the service. It wasn't that busy but they're supposed to go get your food and bring them to you. My hubby of course ALWAYS gets good service but when it comes to me I guess I'm just not that good looking as he is or something. I waited and waited and no one brought my food. This place is located in the Arlington highlands but it doesn't have the Arlington highlands price point as compared to other restaurants in the area. It is a good place to go to for lunch during work or as a get together with friends. Food: the food is your own they just grill it for you. So you pick your own meats veggies and toppings and they cook for you. I dislike the difference of sizes of the bowls when dining in because in comparison to one another it doesn't seem to have a big difference in the sizes. However, you can stack your bowl as high as you can. I generally like my food as spicy when pairing that with udon noodles or white rice the stirfry really tastes good. Kaleena honestly is the best server ever! She's very attentive and checked on me very often, she makes me feel welcome here. I always ask for her on my visits and the service never changes! The foods amazing, the staff is friendly, there's just nothing you can go wrong with here. The rewards are even better. Three stars is not a bad thing in my book. 3- means that Genghis Grill is an average restaurant. One can not complain about the bowl they have made because you made it. On this day my niece order the potstickers and the bottoms were burnt. So stick to the making your own bowl, because this is where this restaurant is a winner. If you are on a budget learn how to stack your bowl, you can get about three days worth of meals for cheap if you know how to play it well. So again friendly staff, good service and food that you do everything but the cooking. We will be back! read more

Short version? Really expensive for some pretty quick, tasty food that you can pile high if you know how. On the long version I'm just always frustrated by the fact that they don't keep their buffet clean (veggies always get intermingled like backwood cousins) and I'm always shocked by the bill. I paid $11 for a bowl of mixed meat and veggies? Really? It's not even high quality food, it's normal chinese restaurant grade which makes me whiny. Also, no matter how high I pile the bowl, it seems my husband uses age old tetris skills to get a better deal than me which leaves me begrudgingly chewing through my bowl as I glare across the table at him in envy. One star is way more than this place deserves. There wasn't a single aspect of this dining experience that was positive. The servers and cooks all have attitudes, the chicken was served to us next to raw (see pic) and our appetizer and drink was brought to us after we finished what part of our meal was actually cooked. After a 7 hour tattoo session, I stumbled to my car like a drunkard and was looking for some food. I am pretty disciplined with my daily eating regiment, and am never hungry, but I was starving after all of that. For some reason, this place seemed like the cure. The staff could have forreal thought I was drunk. I was kind of shakey and dropped my fork twice. I left my receipt on the table, and the waitress had to bring it to me. I didn't grab a tray as directed. My server was great. She made sure I was taken care over every step of the way. The variety is impressive. I think this may be only place where it has Tokyo Joe's beat. They also offer shrimp, which I love. Being able to see the veggies, they are always fresh. The 3G sauce is where it is at. If you don't want a carb (like me!) they offer shredded cabbage rather than rice or noodles. They are extra crisp, and better than noodles, in my opinion. My arm was still wrapped in plastic, so I think the server told all of the other servers and they came to check out out. They were all super friendly and a lot of fun. Very encouraging. One thing I appreciated - the manager came by to check on me. Part of it was likely him checking my state as I was acting strangely, but ultimately he took the time to activeley converse. I appreciated that. This place is usually a safe bet. For me, the regular bowl always does it. Those bowls fill up faster than you think, so if you want a ton of variety, or are really hungry, get the largest bowl. It can seem pricey, but the quality of product is almost always top notch. I occasionally get weird cravings to come here. And when I do, I forgot that this place has given me food poisoning. Not once, but twice! However, I went back here last week for the first time in months, and the food did not make me physically sick. For those of you who have not visited a Genghis Grill before, it's the better Subway of Asian food. I'll walk you through it. Come in and get greeted by a friendly hostess at the counter. After being seated, your waiter will usually ask if you have visited the restaurant before (so they can explain), and if you would like anything to drink. I haven't ordered an alcoholic drink from here before, but they do have a full bar available. My boyfriend and I have made to-go orders from the bar and watched the bartenders do their thing. Unlike a lot of other restaurants, these guys will put on a good show if someone's watching. I can imagine the drinks taste as exciting as they make them. Anyway after you're seated, you have to get up again to create your meal. The waiter gives you a stainless steel bowl and container to take to the back. The smaller stainless steel container is for sauce, and the bigger bowl is for all of your ingredients. When you head over there, you can see a buffet table full of raw food. Here's the fun part: choosing all of your ingredients and packing it into your bowl. I personally compact my bowl to the extreme and make sure that there's an overflowing mountain by the time I get to the end of the line. The employees don't mind if you choose to not put your egg in the bowl (so I never do), since it gives you room to fit in another pinch of vegetables. There's also many sauces to choose from at the end of the line. I would suggest trying each of them with a tasting spoon first before deciding which one to use. After coming here a few times, I find that filling your sauce container 3/4 of the way up is the best ratio for the amount of food that I have. 1/2 isn't enough, but a full container is too overpowering. When you reach the end of the line, you choose what kind of starch you want to add to your ingredients. I usually get the udon noodles, but my boyfriend is a fan of the rice. Whatever you choose, you can't really go wrong since you already chose everything else that goes into it. The chef then takes your ingredients and cooks it on a circular iron grill with paddles. I would recommend watching for a few minutes and leaving a tip if your chef is talented. I've seen a few who have a great time cooking and do awesome tricks. Overall, never had a bad experience here from the staff. I did mention earlier that I had gotten food poisoning from here before. I believe it was from the raw meat ingredients. Since they leave the items out, most of them were not refrigerated for hours. I most likely got sick from the ingredients being left out and the chef not properly cooking the food to kill off the salmonella. It's somewhat of a risk for me to come here, but I think about how good the food is so I end up risking it anyway. Definitely try it out if you're interested in creating your own food! read more

I am a lifetime customer at Gingiss Grill. I always brag about the food and the service. Today I brought clients to this location and we were met at the door by a very disgruntled employee. She told us go sit somewhere over in that section section. And then received horrible service throughout our visit. Was really embarrassed about my food choice for today with clients. Won't make this mistake again. Management at this location please do an employment check less than satisfactory to say the least. read more

Went here for lunch with my girls a few weeks ago and it was just as good as I remembered it a few years ago. I like since I'm a picky eater I can choose what I want, how much I want to add to my bowl and that's how I like it. Only weird thing was the server didn't have a water pitcher and instead of taking my cup away and refilling with ice and water, he came back to the table a couple times with cups of water to refill my other cup, just odd way to do it. But everyone was friendly, went right when they were open and the lunch prices were less expensive then the dinner so that was good and I had plenty for leftovers. read more
