Great experience, good food, and great service. Nice environment and if done right you can get a lot for your money.

I used to absolutely love this restaurant when I lived in the neighborhood about five years ago. Being able to walk there was a huge plus, and it was a place I genuinely enjoyed visiting. Unfortunately, this location now feels like it has been on a steady downward spiral. On this most recent visit, one of the first things I noticed was that they no longer appear to sell alcohol, as they don't currently have an alcohol license. That alone wasn't a dealbreaker, but it was noticeable. What concerned me more was the lack of attention to hygiene in the kitchen. Watching the cooks prepare food without hairnets and seeing some of their food-handling practices was surprising and honestly uncomfortable. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. The employee working behind the buffet bar was doing a very good job of keeping his area clean and organized. Everything on the buffet line looked fresh, and there was a good variety of options available. The bathrooms were also clean, which I appreciated. Another ongoing issue has been menu availability. They never seem to have the sauces or items listed on the menu. Each time I've asked, the response has been that they're "waiting on the truck." The first time, that was understandable. After hearing the same excuse multiple times over several visits, it no longer feels believable. One thing I will say I still enjoy is the trivia game they run on the TVs. You can download an app on your phone and play along, which is a fun touch. My little brother and I really enjoyed that feature, and it's one of the few highlights that still stands out. As for service, I want to be fair the waitress herself was doing her best. However, it was clear she was overwhelmed. The restaurant seemed understaffed, with only one waitress managing the entire place. She was trying to seat guests, take orders, run food, clean tables, make drinks, and handle online orders and pickups all at once. That's simply too much for one person, especially when the restaurant could have easily scheduled at least one additional staff member. Overall, this location no longer feels like the restaurant I once loved. I hope they're able to turn things around, because it used to be a great spot but right now, it's hard to recommend. read more

The staff was very friendly, and the "create your own" option was pretty straightforward--though the waitress gave a lot of instructions, it was still easy to follow. I've been to a Genghis Grill in Smyrna, GA before and really enjoyed it, but I wasn't as impressed with this location. The setup isn't very visually appealing--it feels like a typical restaurant rather than having a unique vibe. The cleanliness could also be improved, especially with the tables. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're just looking to grab food and aren't too particular, but it doesn't stand out compared to other locations. read more

We loved this place and ate here often but when we arrived today we noticed the menu had changed. The noodles are no longer a base. You have rice, cabbage or a tortilla for bases now and if you want noodles they have to be added to the small bowl you get for your meat and veggies. Unfortunately this doesn't work for our family so we left. We will be back if things change again but until then it's a no go. read more

Used to be my go-to. Came today and the bowl prices have shot up tremendously ($25 for large as opposed to $18). The biggest issue is they removed the noodles as a base and it now has to be used in the bowl with the meats and veggies, basically forcing you to get rice (unless you get cabbage). They also took out some of the meat options, only offering steak and no sirloin option. And also no longer have crab. The seasoning section also had 8 options as opposed to the almost double options offered before with half of the 8 options being a salt and pepper alternate (no paprika, etc.). The cherry on top of this all is that they now no longer off YumYum sauce at the table, it is now an add-on and a very small portion in comparison to a the bowl. The service is good and fast and the restaurant is nice, but we come for the food and it's actually not even worth coming at this point. read more

Been a long time since I've been here and decided to give the spot another go. What I ordered was the Supreme Fried Rice in a medium. I was expecting a bowl to be topped with a heap of proteins (The chicken, shrimp and steak mentioned) But really only got about 2 peices of each protein. Unfortunately my order did not arrive as hot as I hoped. The size difference between the medium and small (which my fiance got) didn't really seem too much of a difference despite the double cost. Now for the taste, the steak surpassed my expectations. It was tender, juicy and well cooked. However, the chicken was very dry and bland while the shrimp was just your typical average frozen shrimp, definitely didn't taste fresh and almost looked translucent. I really had to question if the food was thoroughly seasoned. I was most disappointed with the rice which was almost flavorless. It was dry, didn't feel properly cooked (the grains were still a little hard in the middle) Luckily they offered soy sauce on the side which was really the only way I got any flavor out. For a $30 meal, this did not fufill my expectations. I never recalled a negative experience with the restaurant until today. For the price and quality, I would not consider coming back. We come here so much with our kids because they're picky AF and this is just easy to pick and choose what's going to be in their dish. From rice to udon noodles to beef to calamari, they have it all. You get to choose what you want from beginning to end. It's like a salad bar or buffet. A DIY bowl. There's a multitude of spices, salts and sauces so really you could experiment for quite awhile without ever getting bored. As a Korean person I appreciate they have kimchi available now. I prefer their sesame sauce over a lot of the other ones as it's more savory and less sweet. There are just so many choices, it's really difficult for a person like me to get the same thing every time. I have my few favorite proteins like tofu and calamari, all the veggies and then I experiment with sauces. Vegans and vegetarians, you're in luck. You could make this 100% Vegan, although the grill has meat cooked on it. They don't have a second vegan grill separate from the meat. The drinks come in giant cups so if you've got two kids under 11, they can easily share one and you can save yourself $2.75 for a second lemonade. I've never gotten attitude from the severs for my kids sharing an enormous cup. Parking is never an issue here. It's in a strip mall. The bathroom this visit was pretty bad, with no soap and a very dirty sink and door handle. I've taken my kids here at least 10 times now and each time, the bathrooms have been kinda sad. read more

I haven't been here in a while and used to love this place. I decided to get a bowl from here today though and was seriously annoyed. The large bowl is a couple dollars less than the price for all you can eat. They used to do noodles as a base instead of rice but changed that and put the noodles as a topping you can put in your bowl, which takes up a lot of space. Also the large bowl that you put the raw ingredients in is not large at all. On top of that, any eggs you add are now an up charge and they charge you for yum yum sauce as well. All of these used to be free to add to your bowl. So basically I paid $28 for a large bowl with one egg and no yum yum sauce. Aside from the astronomical prices, the food was not what it used to be. I would rather go to chipotle or mezeh right across the street and pay half the price for more food and better quality. It's sad to see a restaurant you like struggling and try to fix their situation by upping their prices so the few customers they have left end up getting screwed. read more

We love coming here on our way out of town! They have so many options for you to choose from: either you can get a set menu option or if you're feeling daring you can create your own meal! We always do the create a bowl (size medium) and get a mix of udon noodles and fried rice. They have a food bar that you can customize your bowl with containing multiple protein, vegetables, seasonings, sauces, and garnishes. We have never been disappointed! Kept seeing this place every time we go to the Kroger's here and finally was in the area to try them for dinner. It was not what we expected at all but we went through with it. What an epic fail. Opted for create your own and got the small for $12.99. You get this tiny little bowl to put everything in. I really couldn't fit much in there but did what I could. Chose the Asian chili sauce and dropped it off to be prepared by the chef. Talk about flat flavors. There was no nuance to that sauce. It was just hot and didn't taste good. They use cheap protein options so beware. The beef was rough. Overall we felt ripped off. We ended up spending nearly $50 on two create your own bowls, one small and one regular and two iced teas! I had no idea what to expect when going to Genghis for dinner for the first time. I really thought it was more of a fast food joint. I was very wrong. Loved the food! The first time there we had extremely subpar service. But the second and third times were way better. You sit down, have waiter or waitress take your orders, they will ask if you have any food allergies. You take your bowl and slip with your name on it to the food bar, stuff your bowl, and take it to the cooking area to hand over. Have a seat back at your table and the waiter will bring your cooked food to you. The first time, I got a small bowl, and was advised by our waitress and my boyfriend that I stuff that little bowl to the max, and pile it up heaping. I did just that. My boyfriend got a regular (they also have large). I crammed so much into my bowl, I ended up with more food than he did. They have a great variety of meats and toppings, I truly believe there's something for everyone here. Some of the add-in vegetables did not exactly look fresh though that first time but it was perfect on 2 follow up visits. My first time, I played it safe and got sirloin, green peppers, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots and some peas. With a small bowl you get one side, I chose udon noodles. With a regular bowl, double udon noodles is too much. Every time is a learning experience and you will find new things to try. There are many spices and sauces to choose from, they even have recipe cards that can guide you on what to get. The first time I felt a little bit pressured and rushed with a line building up behind us. Don't rush, take your time. For anyone who has been here before there are a lot of changes - most of them are not good. The good - slightly better quality of ingredients, especially the steak. A few more choices included flavored meats and salmon. Pre-ordering your base and it prints on your ticket to avoid errors. The bad and the ugly - NO MORE YUM YUM SAUCE. This is a pretty epic fail in my humble opinion. They could have chosen to charge for it or something but it was *literally* my favorite thing they offered. No free refills on flavored tea. Not major but it does suck. Significantly higher prices across the board. A large bowl is now $25. Pretty stomfy for a dinner for one. Recognizing this one is related to increased costs, again not the worst thing in the world but not great. Huge emphasis on pre-made selections and appetizers. I took my girlfriend and father for their first time, we ordered 3 of the Create your own bowls with "Shy" as our server. After ordering and making them we receive the bowls made with the wrong sides (my bowl had rice which I didn't order and my girlfriend's had no rice and no egg, which she ordered). It was probably an honest mistake somewhere, no big deal to us. We explain to Shy what was going on and he relayed the message to his manager. When he came back he was very transparent with us how the manager essentially blamed us for the error and that the manager would likely not allow us to remake our bowls. Shy said that the manager was very unprofessional in how he was speaking about our table but he convinced the manager to let us remake our bowls. We went through the process again and when our bowls came back my bowl was right, but my girlfriend received a bowl that had seafood she didn't get, and completely different sauces (hers came very spicy, she didn't get any spicy sauces when she made it). When Shy came back to ask us if everything was okay we told him about her bowl and he was in disbelief and was very apologetic. We didn't want to be confrontational by involving the manager again because of how rude he seemed to be even with him never coming out to talk to us. So we ordered to-go boxes, paid our check, gave Shy a generous tip, and told him that he was excellent to us the whole night. Overall it seemed like they were understaffed with Shy doing everything from hosting, serving, and bartending the entire hour and half we were there. My family was a little disappointed with how the night turned out and I was a bit embarrassed to have been excited to take them to this new restaurant for that to happen. I'm picking up food from Genghis for my daughter and some delicious bundt cakes from next door at Nothing Bundt Cake. ( Whose service is always top tier every week. NOTHING BUNDT RESPECT FOR NOTHING BUNDT CAKE...see what I did there? LOL.) So her mother orders Ghengis and it tells us pickup is at 3:30. Cool. I arrive @3:20 just to make sure food fresh. I arrive at the location tell the ball headed gentleman behind the bar I'm here for pickup and the name. He looks at the 2 or 3 tickets up there and states it is not ready yet. Cool. I wait at the bar. Hour later and after 2 other to go orders after me left the bald headed employee asked me for the name on the order again. He looks back at the tickets and states he doesn't have an order for that. Then he looks on the monitor and sees the order and says it hasn't been made yet. Goes in the back. The manager finally comes out and the employee explains. As the bald headed employee walks off to tend to tables again the manager looks to see if he is gone and then goes back to the trash can near the bar entry and picks receipts out of the trash as if though finding the employee error mattered more than me waiting for my food. BUT STILL COOL, JUST A LITTLE WEIRD AND NASTY BUT COOL. He then I guess doesn't find it so he tosses the receipts back in the trash but notices 1 in the floor by the trash can and inspects that. Goes back to the computer and says this order was made @3pm and i respond "exactly my point and its kind of crazy ive been here for over an hour" and then walks past me to go to the back. Even at this point he never makes eye contact with me or acknowledges the situation so I say sir and he turns back around and says " yea' we already made your order once but I guess I can make it again. I made it myself the first time" And winks at me and smirks and continues to walk to the kitchen. (MIND BLOWN) 20 minutes later food gets dropped off near me and I have to wait for bald headed employee to be done as if I haven't already waited my life away. When he comes to get me my food I ask him to get a receipt to confirm the refund. Manager comes back out and says " Hey, I made food for you twice, refund for what?" Uhhhhhh where do we start??? How about the lack of communication for when my order will be ready. How about for waiting an excessive amount of time? How about for not apologizing for my wait or the order missing? I try to explain the wait and he Shoes me away with his hand, snatches the food bag from the counter in front of me and places it on the counter behind him and says ok we refund. Tells me to write my card number down and name and the refund will come in 3 days. I write the last 4 of my card number ( because it was ordered on your website, you can cancel the order) why would I need to write my whole card number and leave it with you???) 4:50 pm and still no apology or offer to make right. Don't worry I took my food since he didn't even process my refund and provide a receipt. I'll call my bank if refund isn't provided. Even the employee stated he doesnt know why his manager is acting like this and tried to explain where I was inconvenienced but Leo wasn't here today to make anything right for his customer. Managers name was Leo. I hope no else one walks out feeling like I did today. Stay blessed every1. Ps. I don't do complaints, I literally had to go back inside for the managers name bc once I got outside and realized my car was running still running I said I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BE WRONGED TODAY without somebody knowing.
