Having exhausted most of the nearby options for takeout sushi, my wife and I reluctantly tried Kumo…read morefor a recent weeknight dinner despite the so-so reviews. We ultimately enjoyed our meal and will likely try it again the next time we need a change of pace from our go-to spot. The menu possesses a vast array of rolls, the majority of which hover between $15-18. Seeing the prices of the rolls and not knowing what to expect, we ended up ordering six, which ended up as too much food for the two of us. We found the rolls all well constructed and with generous quantities of the fish. The rice itself was passable. The sliced fish quality was decent, and we found the salmon and tuna particularly fresh. The "spicy" fish in the rolls left something to be desired in both the degree of spice/seasoning as well as freshness. The rolls all could have used a bit more saucing, but we enjoyed them nonetheless. The prices here are very reasonable, especially if you order online which yields a 10% discount. My order was prepared more or less on time. Overall, we liked what we sampled and will return in the near future to sample more rolls. Kumo does not quite supplant our usual sushi spot, but it's a welcome addition to a takeout rotation and worth a shot for roll lovers.

The Udon soup also tastes hearty and healing. Ordered a few different rolls here, all great quality.

Yaki Udon. Flavor was spot on, just a touch too oily. That small aspect didn't give me any hesitation to eat my daughter's leftovers.

Such a breath of fresh air this place…read more Walked in expecting a run-of-the-mill sushi spot, but was immediately hit with charming and attractive hanging lights shaped like fish, among other decorations. The sushi was actually pretty affordable and decent in size--so refreshing to see since most places charge $18 & up for specialty roles. If that wasn't the icing on the cake, the service was just above & beyond... waitress constantly checked up on us and even struck a lil convo. Witnessing her water the plants from the distance we could really tell she cared about the restaurant (could be the owner tbh). With that being said, I think this may be my favorite sushi spot in Chantilly! Well deserved!! :)

Service, young women with amazing smiles make my dinner so enjoyable. Finally food, The first impression was pretty good, but food wasn't their strong point. I've been visiting the Nova area to find a good Japanese restaurant, but this one is lower than average to be honest. Sushi rice was undercooked and hard, which kills good quality sushi. In my opinion, this is the most crucial aspect for Japanese restaurants. The arrangement was okay, but they knew how to prepare the fish, but the quality was not good. We all experience inflation and shrinkage, but you should choose quality seafood. For about $30 per dish and fish, I'd rather go to a sushi buffet near me that costs $27 per person. I might give it another shot and see how it goes.

Despite a packed Father's Day crowd, the kitchen never missed a beat. The Crab & Corn Chowder was beautifully presented--rich, velvety, and generously loaded with sweet crab meat. The oysters from Maine and Rhode Island were the evening's surprise stars. As someone who typically favors the briny, ocean-forward oysters of the Pacific Northwest, I was impressed by the depth of flavor and refreshing salinity these East Coast selections offered. The grilled Arctic char was cooked with precision, its fattier flesh remaining moist, flaky, and remarkably delicate. Equally impressive were the sautéed soft-shell crabs--fresh, aromatic, and expertly prepared. Paired with the silky Lemon Beurre Blanc, they were outstanding and easily among the finest soft-shell crabs I've enjoyed in town this season. Exceptional seafood, flawless execution, and a strong recommendation for PassionFish.

The flavors did not live up to the taste of indian food. It needed more spices and the rice and black lentils aka daal underneath was bland as was the green chutney. It was toned down to be less bold, less flavorful and not as spicy which doesn't do justice to indian food and what its know for. The only thing about the dish that was good was the was it was plated with a papad sticking up off the plate. Overall the experience was ok. We went for lunch and the other food we ordered was decent. I wouldn't say anything there was extraordinary or very unique. The interior was nice and most of the staff were friendly.
