The Deli Best Locally-owned and run NY-style Italian deli that's been in business for over 13 years (2010) here in Bowling Green. The Good: *Friendly service *Budget-friendly prices, but we're from Cali, so take this with a grain of salt. *Outdoor dining *All four of us enjoyed our food, and there was very little complaining. *Their Italian beef was delicious, as the beef was very tender and the concomitant jus was tasty, albeit on the salty side. *Italian Lemon Cream Cake was a last-minute decision, but it was totally worth the calories. Sweet, moist, and a nice lemony kick. If you see it--get it. *Delivery available The Meh: *Potato salad was pretty good but very mustard forward, as you can tell by the color. I mean, I'd still eat it again, but I've had better. The Ugly: *Service was a bit harried during the lunch rush as they were severely understaffed for the amount of work they had. Ordered a sub @ 7:50am. Was told 15min. 8:25am I get to the counter, tell the guy my name to grab my sub for lunch for work. He then goes to make the sub. You haven't made it??? No. Very plain faced like there is nothing wrong with his customer service. So 35min later still not ready?!? Unbelievable. They move super slow always, not the 1st time I've been there but will be the last. But to offer call in ordering & not accommodate the order? Madness. Please don't tell me, oh it's a local fav cause I don't care. People should operate in a timely manner in order to accommodate everyone, not just the unemployed or those that have all the time in the world. 35min is more than enough time to make a sub. I've been a customer for 3 years but not anymore. The food is delicious but the service isn't even a one star. They are Always too busy to get peoples food out in a reasonable amount of time. I've come in to order "always" a sandwich & I literally wait like 40-45 minutes in person. When I call ahead of time, they always take the customers who order right there & then I have to wait in the same line as if I were there ordering for the first time. I sooooo want to give this 5 stars, the only problem is that the service takes a little bit longer than expected because there is only one employee at the front putting together all the food, and one at the back cooking. But other than that, food was phenomenal, menu items were plentiful, I think everyone will find something they like here. I got the fish taco wrap with a side of fruit and LOVED it!! Chocolate Cannoli! Ok, My apologies for this review lacking in details. This was about a month ago. I don't recall exactly what we had, but my wife said we BOTH loved the food we had. AND! The food I have eaten has been good. I have only been twice to eat, but I have tried to go three other times, but their hours are very short - they are only open during the day. The service has been fine in the two times I was able to order something. Most recently, I came to eat at 2:45 pm thinking they close at 5:00 pm on Saturday. Unfortunately they now close at 3pm (yelp still shows 5pm - please be aware). I got to the counter to place an order at 2:50. Tried to order a calzone and was told that they close at 3pm and are not taking any more pizza orders. This is literally 5 seconds after they told the person in front of me that they can eat the sandwich they're making for them inside. I asked how long it takes as I thought it only took 10 minutes to cook a calzone - the person taking my order snapped back that it takes 15-20 minutes. I'm thinking that by the time the people in front of me finish their sandwiches it would be done, but for some reason they were not taking orders any longer. I was willing to take it to go, but that was a no go. I then asked when did they start closing at three. I thought it was later. She replied that it's something new the owner is trying. She did share that they had a line out of the door earlier and most people come before they close. I have obviously ticked them off even though I didn't say one word prior to placing my order. I thought I was coming before they closed (2hrs before I Thought they closed). Hey, if they are selling enough and the food it good, they do get to dictate the hours. I was disappointed how the conversation was handled - I was just there to order their food in the already limited window of time. Good luck with the new hours. read more

I've been eating here for several years. I finally tried something besides the peppers and sausage. That never disappoints! This time I got the shredded beef sandwich with au jus. It was sooo delicious! I also added broccoli salad and tiramisu. The prices were fair for the amount of food you get. It's always fresh and prepared when you order. It has a homey feel because it's kinda small, but I will keep going back! If there's any tiramisu left when you go, don't pass it up. It's the best tiramisu I have ever had! read more

We were waiting to be seated at another restaurant and got spooked by their poor reviews so we left and went to Geno's instead. So glad we did! Geno's is no frills but the food was amazing and the staff was friendly and efficient. We got a mix of entrees: lasagna bake, pizza, wrap, spinach salad and spaghetti with meat sauce. It's been over a year since I ate here because my experience was very bad. As much as I love their food, I have to seriously question their ethics. I had eaten here faithfully for years because their food like I said earlier is great. It was the fateful day that I had metal shavings embedded in my my sandwich that I decided it wasn't worth rating here at the risk of having my intestines ripped open. When I presented the evidence to them, there was no explanation, apology, refund or even acknowledgement. All I was looking for was acknowledgement of the issue and assurance that it would not happen again. I will never eat there again and hope that this never happens to anyone. We've tried Geno's about 3 times, so here is my feedback. "SCATTERED" There are so many menu items and they are posted all over the room in different places, so it takes several visits to grasp what they really do have to offer. Pizza, calzone, pasta, sandwiches, hot dogs, various salads and desserts, and specialty coffee drinks. We've tried calzones, chili dogs, sandwiches, some pasta dishes, and meatballs and some desserts. There are numerous menu items we have not tried, including the pizza. So far, our favorite item has been the chili dogs. I generally enjoy eggplant dishes, but I've tried two different eggplant dishes here and I didn't care much for either of them. Everything else we have tried has been "good". My honest evaluation of Geno's is that they have too many options. I've not found the superstar item here yet, but I will give it another go from time to time (some of the pizza reviews make me think that is way to go). read more

Zero stars! Absolutely terrible service. We ordered 2 meals and 2 kids meals: one meal and one kids meal came out in 10 minutes the next two came out almost an hour later. When the food finally came out, they gave us something that we did not order. No apologies were given. The college girl in the tie dye shirt was completely apathetic the entire time.
