SUCH.A.BUMMER. Peyton (I think that's his name) was managing this fine Friday night. I walked in about 720pm, there were 4 employees and just me. The place was empty. Placed my order and saw the cashier gave me two cups and I only wanted one. She told Payton (the mgr) and he continues to put bread away and stock shelves while one other person was making our sandwiches. Clearly he was busy and I am in a rush traveling. I decided to let the one guy that just showed behind me go-ahead and I'll run to the bathroom and finish up once I come back. Now Payton is stocking the chips. It is pretty clear that these things are a priority over the customer. Then I decide I'll fill up my coke while I'm waiting for him to get around the counter to be able to take care of me. Finally he tells me we have to refund the transaction and rerun the card. Okay. We do the stuff and I get a new receipt. I get in the car and unwrap my sandwich as we drive away (it took a good 20 mins exiting from the freeway to get back to them, hitting all 5,348 stoplights red between the freeway and their store ~1 mil away). NO HOT PEPPERS. This is traumatic. The entire reason we didn't choose Five guys or Panera or Chic-fil-A is bc of these dang hot peppers that are so flipping good. WHAT A BUST. A couple suggestions: 1- if you have FOUR people working to every ONE customer and you can't make the sandwiches 100% accurate there is seriously something wrong 2- if the cashier is calling for your help as a manager or supervisor then stocking the shelves come second... get over to the register and help 3- it might be a good idea to have the cashier repeat orders so the guy getting ready to make the sandwich hears (and doesn't miss the hot peppers) and the customer can correct if she says 2 drinks and you only want one before you swipe your card HOWEVER! The bathroom had justtttt been mopped and seemed really clean. The entire store seemed bright and clean. The sandwich was yummy despite my beloved hot peppers were missing. This is my first time at a jimmy johns. Go figure in bowling green out of all places. I guess this is as close as you will get to a deli sub down south. I enjoyed jimmy johns more than subway. I just ordered a BLT here. It was good perfect bacon lettuce tomato mayo ratio. I would def order again. Overall. This was a great experience. Given the realities of the pandemic, I understand delays and staff shortages. But the last several times we have ordered from there it has taken an hour or longer for delivery. When I called today, to see where my lunch was, the worker on the phone was not at all helpful and was borderline impolite. I think there should be an email alert sent to online orders informing them of extended delays in case they need to cancel due to time constraints. Let me tell you a little story about our local JJ location! This happened Saturday June 30th at around 2:40 pm and although I am sure that the manager on location at the time will try to spin it a different way, this is what happened. We (My co-worker and I) placed an order via the website like we have now for the last several years since the location was opened. We placed the order at 3:24 PM and since we are only a block away (5 minute walk) we normally receive our order in 10-20 minutes. When 30 minutes passed we called the shop to see what was up. Keep in mind that we are literally a block away. Five minutes walk. Call #1 - No answer. Phone must have rung 20-30 times on our end. Call #2 - "PLEASE HOLD" Immediately! No greeting, no "Hello, thank you for calling Jimmy Johns, can you hold?" just an abrupt "PLEASE HOLD" and then silence. We waited a full minute and when nobody picked up, we hung up. Considering the abrupt reception this was one minute longer than I should have given them. Call #3 - We get someone and we get two words. "Jimmy Johns!" Now that wasnt a big deal but what followed is. Me - I am calling to see where my order is? Him - We have one driver and three orders! You are just going to have to wait! He was using a very aggressive tone of voice. Me - Well cancel my order then (Because he was being rude!!) Him - "FINE" Click!!! HE HANGS UP ON ME!!! REALLY? Call #4 - Young fellow answers and gives a proper greeting. I asked to speak to the person that just hung up on me. Person states that the person in question is on the phone. I told the young person that I needed to make sure that our order was canceled because the person that HUNG UP ON ME did not verify any information whatsoever. He was not able to answer my questions and after the other person spent a couple minutes ranting he took the phone. Him - WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? Me - Why did you hang up on me? You dont even know who I am. How can you cancel my order when you dont know who you are talking to? Him - I TOLD YOU I CANCELED YOUR ORDER! STOP WASTING MY TIME!! Me - Ok, what was my order number? What is my name? I need to verify that you have canceled my order? Him - I TOLD YOU I CANCELED YOUR D*** ORDER!! CLICK!! He hangs up on me again having still not answered my questions about my order. Please bear in mind that I did not cancel my order due to how long it was taking. In fact, had the Manager not behaved so poorly, I would have been happy to come to him and pick my order up. I was 5 minutes away. With that I printed my copy of the order, and jumped in my car and went to the JJ location. Upon walking in here is what happened. Me - I would like to talk to the guy that keeps hanging up on me. Him - WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM MAN!! I TOLD YOU I CANCELED YOUR D*** ORDER NOW GET OUT. He was VERY aggressive and angry right from the word go. Here is a guy WITH A KNIFE IN HIS HAND, yelling at me. Me - How do you know who I am? I havent told you my name or given you my order number? Him - BECAUSE I CAN SEE YOUR D*** ORDER ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN!! ITS NOT MY DAMN FAULT YOU ARE TOO IMPATIENT TO WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR A SANDWICH!! NOW GET OUT OR ILL CALL THE COPS. Me - Please, please call the cops. I want them to see how you are acting. What is my name? What is my order number for it? Him - THOMAS GRACE!!! YOU HAPPY NOW GET OUT!! I HAVE SANDWICHES TO MAKE. Me - I didnt cancel the order because of the time it was taking. Him - I DONT CARE!! GET OUT!! Me - I am not going anywhere. Why are you being so rude? Him - BECAUSE I DONT HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH IMPATIENT PEOPLE! NOW GET OUT!! At that point he calls 911 and It is then that I decide that rather than risk this crazy person attacking me I leave. As I am walking leaving he comes out and takes a photo of my license plate and tells me he called the police. I just laugh and say ok! SO HERE IS THE DEAL FOLKS. All the "Manager" had to do, was take the time to address my needs without being rude. Instead he chose to be rude and when I asked for verification of my canceled order he became beligerant. AT NO TIME DID I CARE ABOUT HOW LONG IT WAS TAKING. I could easily have ran by there and grabbed our order and saved him some time in what was obviously a pressure situation for him. Rather than being a professional he acted like an ass. Since this location was opened we have spent hundreds if not a thousand dollars or more over the years with them. That location used to be fun, fast and courteous. Now we have this. If this is what the Franchise owners put in their stores in terms of staff, I think its best I went back to shopping at our local Grocer and making my own sandwiches. I have emailed and called Corporate office and so far the franchise owner hasn't lifted a finger to contact us, address our concerns or deal with the problem in any way. My hotel is 1.6 miles from their location however they cannot deliver, said it was outside of their delivery footprint. ( holiday inn express off three springs). I order from the Campbell Ln location, no joke, 3-4 times a week. I called today and they said that they are so backed up, they couldn't do it. I asked how long it would be, and he rudely stated that he didn't know. All I wanted was a round-about time but was met with a rude statement. Didn't try to ask someone else or anything. I then called the Russellville Rd location and they would not deliver 2.8 miles to our office. Advised I would need to contact the Campbell Ln location. They've gotten something wrong with my order every time I've ordered from them. When I ordered lunch from them today I paid an extra $1.50 for a cookie which I didn't get. Not bad about the money but I mean, come on, it's not that hard to remember to put a cookie in the bag. Maybe double check the orders before you deliver them? First let me say Jimmy John's is my family's favorite. We have eaten there for years. Today my wife bought our 2 girls Megan and Shelby 2 pepe's ham and provolone sandwiches. I contacted the store and went online to let them know that both of my girls within about 2 hours began having headaches and stomach cramps. They are currently in bed and we are monitoring. When I spoke to the lady at the Campbell lane location in Bowling Green, Ky. she said she would let the manager know tomorrow! I called to let them know that there may be an issue with their ham or other pepe ingredients. It did not seem to concern her.
