This has been my go to Italian restaurant. My last order was delivery and it arrived on time as usual. However, when I opened it up, the pizza was not what I ordered. Not even close. Different size and NOT a white pizza. Not the biggest deal, shit happens. I called them immediately and told the girl who answered the situation. She said they would send out a new pie that was right. Ok cool! A couple minutes later though, my phone rang. A very angry man who identified himself as "the guy who made my pie" informed me that I was wrong. He then told me he made my order but described someone else's order. When I began to match his angry tone, he told me to hold on and the line went silent. 10 MINUTES later, the original girl came on the phone and asked me angrily what I would like them to do about it. I informed her that this would be my last time dining with them. She hung up the phone and that was the end of my business with this restaurant. It's sad because their food is quite good. On a side note, the last time we dined in with them was an issue as well. My daughter and I were having lunch when I realized the music playing in the restaurant was laced with F bombs and more. Had to ask the waiter to change the station. To his credit, he did immediately and apologized profusely. I truly hope they get some better management in there. It seems to be an issue. We like to patron local businesses and are so happy we came to Genovese's. We love the food here. We used to drive 25 minutes to eat here. We now live in Ormond and visit at least once a week. For us, it's all about the sauce! Love the sauce. We have ordered chicken and veal Parm, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, baked ziti, pizza and shrimp scampi. Probably some others, but can't recall everything. We have always been happy with the food here. Fresh baked bread, fresh crispy salad.... who could ask for me. Well run establishment. Here on vacation with my wife and daughter and thought we would give this place a try. There are good Italian restaurants all over Central Florida and most of them do a pretty nice job. Genovese's is no exception. Prices were very reasonable and the food and the service was excellent. My daughter got the penne with oil and garlic and it was very good. My wife and I split the antipasto salad which by itself would have been a huge entree. It was very good and their house Italian dressing is spot-on. We also split the cafe combo pizza in the New York style pizza cooked perfectly was a pleasant surprise. I'm gonna keep this review relatively short (which is unusual for me). The pizza AND lasagna here are DEEE-licious!!! We come to the Daytona/Ormond Beach area annually to visit family and Genovese's is our go-to spot for pizza (and also Lenny's giant pizza just up the road). The meat lovers pizza is my everything. Being a native Chicagoan, I hold pizza to a high standard and these guys really deliver on flavor, quantity and quality of toppings. My super picky 12-year-old also really enjoyed the spaghetti n' meatballs while my wife enjoyed a salad. The Ormond Beach location is rather small, but managed to accommodate our party of 9. Service was fast and friendly, but felt a tad bit cramped since it was a full house. In the past we've ordered delivery and this was our first time dining in. Overall it was a good experience that would have been even better if the facilities were larger. FINAL THOUGHTS I do wish they would add calamari to the appetizer menu. I am genuinely surprised when ANY Italian restaurant on the ocean doesn't serve it. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with the pizza (especially the meat lovers) or the lasagna! Visited in March for the first time for take out. Called my order in 20 minutes ahead around 8:30pm. It was Monday night and they were not very busy. After arriving I then waited 30 more minutes until my food came out. A 50 minute wait on a Monday night at 8:30pm with few people in the restaurant did not seem reasonable to me. I am staying in Daytona Beach for a week for my granddaughter's dance competition, I was craving pizza one evening and after asking around, Genovese's was suggested to me. We went there for dinner, our server was Ivy ... some of the best service I have ever received while dining out! I ordered a meat lovers pizza and my granddaughter wanted a salad but she is very picky right now about what she eats. I have to say that the pizza was top notch, and Ivy went out of her way to make sure that my granddaughter had an outstanding salad. My husband ordered the Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana hero and I ordered the Fettucini Alfredo with Chicken and Italian Wedding soup. My husband was licking his fingers to get every last taste of his sandwich. My meal, the Fettucini was delicious, but seemed to be lacking in the Parmigiana cheese. Otherwise, it was cooked to perfection and the chicken was moist and tender. We are at Tomoka State Park and they delivered to us our delicious meal. Prices are reasonable the the delivery man was nice and personable. I would definitely highly recommend this cafe. This place is near the beach and fun for lunch. We went in on a Tuesday and found affordable lunch deals such as pasta with soup and two topping build your pizza. We were a party of four and split three entrees. Wish the atmosphere was brighter (mostly brown interior) but the food was great and lunch can't be beat! read more

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. It was ok. Nothing wrong. But nothing good either. Very plane and average. I looked at reviews and the pictures had me excited. The pizza looked delicious. I ordered a chef salad and sm pepperoni pizza. I left more than half of each for the garbage. They were ok. But nothing special. I'd easily give 3 1/2 stars and possibly 3. I don't believe the food should be so high. Way better pizza and salad out there. But also way worse. read more

Oh man. This is some good food. We went on a Friday night shortly after 5 and they were busy already. We had the garlic cheese bread and it was really good. I'm not usually a huge fan of cheese on my garlic bread but this was tasty. Wife had a Calizone and she loved it and said she had never had one like it before. The six year old had a fettuccine Alfredo and asked to bring what was left home which never happens so I know it was good. I had penne with oil and garlic and it was fantastic! Garlic was fresh and cooked perfectly. Salad was good-- nothing special but good. Make sure you have plenty of fresh bread to soak up the extra sauce from the pasta--it sure worth it. Order something, anything, with marinara and you won't be disappointed. Located directly across from the beach entrance at Ormond, this small Italian spot is popular and family friendly. Despite the restaurant being a bit chaotic, the knowledgeable and friendly server helped us navigate the extensive menu and checked in on us frequently. The menu is equal parts pasta, pizza and sandwiches. Daily specials are listed on the chalkboard by the entrance. We were in on a Tuesday night and took advantage of that day's special: 2 free toppings on any size pizza. Genovese's marinara is wonderfully thick with a rich tomato flavor and generous amounts of onion and garlic. No watery sauce here. This one can be served with a fork. We chose a vegetarian pizza of mushrooms, peppers and onions. The veggies were fresh and plentiful, and of course there was the sauce... We also had the shrimp scampi which had plenty of fresh shrimp and tons of fresh chopped garlic served over a mound of al dente spaghetti. They do seem to love their garlic at Genovese's, and that's just fine with us. However, the dish's downfall was the overabundance of low quality olive oil that drowned out everything but the garlic. Next time we'll take our own advice and stick with anything marinara. read more

I was skeptical, because most of the food in Daytona/Ormond is so-so, but I am honestly so impressed with our experience at Genovese's. Our server (I think her name was Cat?) was very lovely. The salad was great. The bread for the garlic bread was wonderful! Probably the best garlic bread I've ever had. We ordered the Sicilian crust pizza and I was AMAZING!!
