I ran in and got some take out from here while staying on Ormond Beach. The food was not as good as the reviews stated. The sauce was awful watery and didn't taste good at all. I ended up throwing out the Frutta di Mare and just having some cheese and crackers in the hotel room. I will be back in the area soon but will not be stopping in here again. read more

Found this place while on vacation. Bruschetta was amazing. The first pizza we ordered came out , it was very wet and runny from the veggies, so much so that the waitress said she wouldn't have eaten it. Placed a 2nd order and the 2nd came out perfect and we enjoyed it very much. The location is in a strip mall so go slow or you may miss it. read more

On Tuesdays, the restaurant offers two free toppings on pizza. My niece doesn't eat toppings so we asked for the toppings to only be put on half the pizza. The waitress said if we wanted it on only half, we had to pay for the toppings; if we wanted the toppings for free, it needed to be put on the whole pizza. As illogical as this is, they refused to leave half of the pizza plain unless we paid for the toppings. read more

Ordered a bunch of stuff to share family-style with others. Ordered the Cafe Combo pizza, Chicken Fettucine Alfredo, Penne Amatriciana, garlic bread w/ cheese, meatball marinara, and a vegetarian salad. Salad was very fresh with sliced peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, and a ton of different cheeses. Garlic bread could have had more cheese on it, but not bad. Loved the meatballs marinara and used the bread to sop up all that good gravy. Both pastas were bomb and the pizza was overflowing with toppings. While we did carryout, some of it didn't travel very well, and we should probably warmed everything up before we dug in. Oh well, too hungry for all that. read more

I really wanted to like the pizza from Genovese's on Granada in Ormond Beach Fl. After reading the mixed reviews I decided to give them a try. I ordered a large pepperoni and a Sicilian Venetian. The pepperoni was good but the Sicilian was disturbingly undercooked. The dough of the crust was gummy after about the first eighth of an inch. I currently have it in the oven in attempt to be able to eat it but I really don't believe that should be my responsibility. I did call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager but to no avail. Really disappointing as I was hoping it could become my go to. I guess my search must continue. read more

We come every year for the races and with all the rain we decided to try a new pizza place. There are no shortage of ones to try in the area but we got lucky and picked a gem. Went about 8pm on Friday night and looked like the dinner rush was dying down but still a good amount of pick up orders. Wait staff were all nice and helpful. Garlic bread with mozzarella was yummy and we got a large pep and sausage pizza. I knew it was going to be good because as soon as I took a slice off the pan it didn't droop. Crust was nice and crispy under the whole pizza. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area! read more

I am shocked I haven't reviewed Genovese's before. This has been my favorite Pizza place that delivers to our place in Ormond by the Sea. I normally order a feta salad with creamy Italian dressing, an order of Meatballs and a pizza. The salad is their version of a Greek Salad. The meatball app gives you 2 giant meatballs, The taste amazing and have an amazing sauce. I love the crust and we normally get a simple pizza, cheese, basil and sauce. Last night we got in and saw a storm was coming in. I ordered online for delivery. It said it would take around an hour and a half. Well 35 minutes later the driver called to let me know he was outside. This is always a winner! read more

I wasn't thrilled to go here, but it turned out great... wife did not like the original place we picked and we ended up here. Whew.. don't tell her, but I am happy we went here! We ended up with a few small pizzas, cheesy bread and spaghetti. I'll focus on the important part... pizza. The pizza was amazing! We had a normal cheese, a meat one and i made mine with banana peppers and bacon. The crust is GREAT, good flavor, good thickness and crisp. The sauce was good.. the cheese good... everything pizza related good. Get yourself some of this pizza and enjoy it! Can't really say much more. they have some beers on tap and others bottled. pricing was average for the area. The service was average, but we were there in the middle of the afternoon so it was a bit of an odd time. Just a bit slower than I anticipated. We visited at the suggestion of our hotel receptionist... and so glad we did! The location was easy to access on Atlantic Ave, the restaurant was cozy and cute ,and the food was delicious! We ordered the Cafe Combo Pizza, Chicken Fettucine Alfredo , Veal Parmesan and Margherita Pizza. Every single dish was fresh, flavorful and filling!The large pizza is more than enough for 4 people and the small is great for 2. Service was spectacular and we found al the staff to be friendly and accommodating. This is definitely one of our favorite new spots for Daytona! read more

Best we could find in the Daytona / Ormand area. The pizza was fantastic and could rival many North End (Boston) restaurants. We ordered direct and drove a few minutes to pick it up. If you order online via chownow it costs a a little extra. read more

Outstanding place. We went here and it was packed....not a table to be had. We finally shared a table with some others and was immediately greeted with fresh hot bread and drinks. This is a well oiled machine of a staff!!! The pizza was amazing something we have been looking for over 2 years now! This has become a favorite for us. Small little pizza shop in the middle of a strip mall we were desperately looking for a place to grab some pizza. Unfortunately being in Florida at this time of year is off-season and most places close at nine be aware of that. He did finally get to Genevieve say ordered a large pizza half pepperoni half mushroom. You'll be happy to know that his hand tossed crust and good cheese and sauce. The mushrooms a lot better than the pepperoni. We really enjoy the food. The girl behind the counter needed a little touch up on her customer service skills but all in all if you want pizza head over there. I really didn't like this place and I feel bad for it. Everyone there is extremely nice. They definitely give you a lot of food. They put a lot of sauce on your food which is good. My downfall with this place is that it just didn't taste well. The "garlic bread" isn't garlic at all or whatever bread I got with my meal. The meatballs were lacking in flavor and the sauce. The chicken was extremely dry. The soup wasn't something I would order again either The tiramisu was really good though. The price is a good price with all the food they give you they just need to get flavor corrected. read more

Attitude sucks / customer service sucks. The guy taking the order thought he was funny while being a smart ... Ordered Lasagna, Spaghetti which is runny and watery, a greek salad (separate) from my regular order and all I received was bland food, one tiny piece of bread to be split between two dinners and a missing salad. When I called back to speak to the manager the smart ... order taking guy wouldn't put me through to the manager. Kept asking me what it was regarding, what is it regarding? I advised him I would like to speak to the manager. The order taker (kid) had his hand over the phone but you could hear the manager in the background asking what do they want I don't have time for this. When he finally got on the phone, he asked in a crass voice "What do you want?" Well, I already dealt with the rude guy that answered the phone, now I have to hear you be rude on the phone in the background and on the phone as well? You can take your attitude and go back up north. I don't care who you are.. I am a local, not a tourist, and with that being said you shouldn't talk to visitors like that either. We were in Ormond Beach this year for vacation and had not heard of Genovese's until we were told about it at the condo we stayed at. Normally eat at another pizza place, but thought we would give it a try. By leaps and bounds Genovese's is the best Pizza we have eaten anywhere (we live in North Carolina). From the crust to the the toppings (and it was so loaded it was unreal) it was delicious. We both agreed it was the best ever. Just wish there was one here in North Carolina. We will be eating there every year when we come down there. We are looking forward to coming into the Cafe and eating there and trying all of your other dishes also. My husband and I have been enjoying your food for years. Everything is entirely sharable for two. We love just the simple margarita pizza and antipasta salad. We still end up with food for the next day!. We love all we have tried, pizza and pasta. It's rustic and homey, family owned. No frills. Staff is always friendly. We come here every year during our timeshare in Ormond & always have a great experience. It's busy so you may have to wait, but the staff is courteous and hard working to accommodate everyone.
