But hey, how often can I dine outside in Florida without dying of heat or mosquitos or drowning in a downpour. They had a ton of delicious specials going but I like to try places for the first time based on my favorite dishes. However, I can't pass up octopus carpaccio and while it was delicious, the slices stuck to the plate which the waiter attributed to being outside where it warmed up. Next time, calamari for sure! I got the fettuccine bolognese as I'm still chasing a sauce that isn't just ground beef added to marinara. I'm happy to say it's the best bolognaise I've found in Central Florida! Their pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and not overly tomatoey or sweet like most places. It also was fully tossed so it clung to the noodles. Dad was in a pizza mood but was definitely temped by the veal chop special. He ended up with the all in pie and I knew it was a winner when he ate the crust. He's very picky about crust and this hit the mark on texture and taste! So yes, the love this group has for Don Giovanni is real and if you haven't tried it I definitely recommend it!

Attitude sucks / customer service sucks. The guy taking the order thought he was funny while being a smart ... Ordered Lasagna, Spaghetti which is runny and watery, a greek salad (separate) from my regular order and all I received was bland food, one tiny piece of bread to be split between two dinners and a missing salad. When I called back to speak to the manager the smart ... order taking guy wouldn't put me through to the manager. Kept asking me what it was regarding, what is it regarding? I advised him I would like to speak to the manager. The order taker (kid) had his hand over the phone but you could hear the manager in the background asking what do they want I don't have time for this. When he finally got on the phone, he asked in a crass voice "What do you want?" Well, I already dealt with the rude guy that answered the phone, now I have to hear you be rude on the phone in the background and on the phone as well? You can take your attitude and go back up north. I don't care who you are.. I am a local, not a tourist, and with that being said you shouldn't talk to visitors like that either. We were in Ormond Beach this year for vacation and had not heard of Genovese's until we were told about it at the condo we stayed at. Normally eat at another pizza place, but thought we would give it a try. By leaps and bounds Genovese's is the best Pizza we have eaten anywhere (we live in North Carolina). From the crust to the the toppings (and it was so loaded it was unreal) it was delicious. We both agreed it was the best ever. Just wish there was one here in North Carolina. We will be eating there every year when we come down there. We are looking forward to coming into the Cafe and eating there and trying all of your other dishes also. My husband and I have been enjoying your food for years. Everything is entirely sharable for two. We love just the simple margarita pizza and antipasta salad. We still end up with food for the next day!. We love all we have tried, pizza and pasta. It's rustic and homey, family owned. No frills. Staff is always friendly. Guests in town always visit here with us. Our Italiian friends from Montreal visited recently and we very impressed when they enjoyed your food. Take that from a family of Sicilian origin! read more

We come here every year during our timeshare in Ormond & always have a great experience. It's busy so you may have to wait, but the staff is courteous and hard working to accommodate everyone.
