After a long and exhausting SNAFU checking into Wyndham Ocean Walk resort, we did not feel like going out. So I checked Yelp for local places that delivered. Came across Genovese, prices were good and ratings were great. Besides, Italian just sounded better than pizza or burgers. Ordered Lasagna for my wife and Spagetti & Meatballs for me, with side salads for both. Ordering was easy, transaction fluid and we were given a short window for delivery. The only drawback was they could only deliver to the resort lobby. No problem, just a short elevator ride. Sure enough in a very short time I received a call from delivery driver that he was 3 minutes away. I went to lobby and was handed a package I had to switch between hands because it was hot! Salads were fresh, cool, crisp and delightful. My wife's Lasagna was delicious, and yes I had a bite. My huge plate of spaghetti was pure delight and came with 2 softball sized meatballs. YUM! Meatballs were super. All the food was great and very fast delivery. My only regret is that I didn't ask for a little extra Parmesan cheese and hot pepper flakes. Bellísimo!! This is our go to, for Italian food. It's a long drive for us, so you know it's got to be good. We came in last night for some in. We arrived just before the rush. We sat down quick and no waiting. We ordered drinks and searched the menu. We got the tomato and mozzarella appetizer. Then My wife ordered an old reliable. Veal Parm. I got the artichoke, sun dried tomato with an add on chicken. We also ordered the garlic bread, soup. We got our bread and the garlic bread. Yes. Bread and more bread. My weakness. We went through the garlic bread and then received our main course. Dang. Everything was so good. We almost ate everything. Both dishes were quite big and so filling. So, my point here is, bread - good and filling. Beware how much bread you eat before your meal arrives. This may cause you to not finish your great meal. Or maybe it will help. Either way, you will leave happy. The service? This wait staff is awesome. These people work hard and are very courteous. Our guy had been working since 9am, that day. Almost 12hr. You know this kind of work is hard and demanding. This crew doesn't complain and just want to make sure that your food is good and that you are having a good time. Parking? Never been a problem for me. This is a must, for Italian food. Went to this restaurant during Jeep Week based on mostly 4-star reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The minestrone looked and tasted like it came from a can, the antipasto was small and weak with very little meats and cheeses and the dressing was cotton candy pink (it tasted better than it looked). We also ordered pizza which was fine, nothing to write home about, and also a spaghetti with meat sauce. Huge portion, but again was just ok. This place stays very busy! We decided to get our food to go. They had everything packaged perfectly and it was all piping hot when we got back to our room. Family dinner at Genovese's on a Monday evening was a great experience. The place was packed yet we were seated within 10 minutes. Pasta puttanesca, a dish I haven't seen often, was beautifully presented, and so flavorful, with just the right portion of pasta. My wife had ravioli, ordered from the kids menu. This portion should be available to seniors everywhere. Others at the table ordered pizza and salads, all good as well. Our server was very accommodating and attentive, even though she was very busy. I'm a local and used to love this place but between here and the port orange location, the last five times I've ordered here it's wrong every time. I got a feta salad to go and they put no meat on there, got a side salad and there was a fly in it, asked for half mushroom on a cheese pizza and they put it on the whole thing, now I call again and reiterate they messed it up the last time and said three times on the phone I want spinach on half and tomato and mushroom on all, and they only put spinach on half. They said "it'll still be good. Do you want to wait for another?" No I don't want to wait while there's a dining room of people waiting for their food. Then they said "next time" you call tell them they messed it up twice and make it right. Sadly never going here again. read more

I was looking for an option that everyone would enjoy (Vegan me, an 11 year old, and a 75 year old) and this place looked like it. Everyone in the group likes pizza so this won the battle. We stopped in around 8:00 on the Saturday before the Daytona 500 and the place was pretty packed. We waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up and claimed it while it was still dirty. The waitress was over rather quickly to wipe down the table. It's a seat yourself place, so we were OK with doing that. I liked the fact that they had a "fat free" pizza option, which basically means no cheese which was perfect for me (not all of the options were vegan, so read the menu carefully). The Cheese Pizza was good for the 11 year old. Plain and simple and he ate all but 2 slices. The Margherita was good for the 75 year old. Not a traditional version, but it was good nonetheless. He ate all but 2 slices. Finally, the Low-Fat Botticelli Pizza which is vegan friendly was my choice. I chose to get it with Garlic and Oil, but it really needed some sauce to glue everything together. I'll do that next time. It was very flavorful and was a nice alternative to other vegan fare. I ate all of mine like a good boy and a side salad too, which was fresh and tasty with the Balsamic Vinegar dressing. The service was excellent as our waitress was attentive and refilled drinks pretty often. Great choice to carbo-load. Many of the other pizzas and salads looked good as we passed by the tables. Excellent restaurant in the plaza between TGI Fridays and Outback that you may miss if you're just driving around looking. read more

We hadn't been here in two years but it is still a wonderful family restaurant. The food, service, and prices are great. The decor is old school Italian restaurant that I grew up with. My wife, who is an amazing Italian cook, loves it here and stuffs herself. She did say the marinara sauce is a tad sweet. One day if we can stop ourselves from eating so much, we'll try dessert. The pasta dishes come with a choice of fettuccini, penne, or spaghetti pasta as well as fresh bread, and a choice of fresh salad or soup. My wife said it is the best Italian wedding soup she has had. My family used to love Genovese's, but it seems to have gone downhill fast. On our last visit two weeks ago, our waitress was incredibly rude, classless, and totally disinterested in doing her job on any level. My entree (baked penne with meat sauce) was charred...as in blackened cheese and burnt-to-the-pasta sauce. The dish was so severely overbaked that it was dry and the pasta was a glutinous blob. The burnt smell was overwhelming! What really upset us was that this dish was not only served by the world's worst waitress, but she had the audacity to say "only on top" when we eventually got her attention to point out that the dish was burnt. She offered to bring out additional sauce, which would not help a dried out, blackened pasta dish. We were disgusted by the fact that the kitchen sent this out and the waitress served it. This is not typical of this restaurant, but given that numerous staff saw the issue and there was no acknowledgment or resolution means we will not be back to this "used to be great" restaurant any time soon! read more

we ordered meatballs as a appetizer, they were very soggy the sauce tasted like i was out of a can. i got fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and my boyfriend got spaghetti with meatballs and the meatballs were way more soggy then the appetizer meatballs. the shrimp on my food tasted like it was frozen. we did get the meals taken off of the bill but i don't recommend this place. read more

We've been dining at Genovese for a few years now but lately the food has not been good. My daughter's baked ziti was burnt on top. My shrimp scampi was prepared with no lemon and LOADED with chopped garlic and oregano. The spaghetti itself was completely over boiled and tasteless. I've never had scampi like this. My husband ordered veal parm and he described it as "meh". If I continue to go I will just stick to the pizza. Also, the booth we were sitting in had a ripped seat. Food was pretty good but could have been a little bit better. I got a medium cheese pizza with ranch. The ranch was average but did the trick. Service took a little bit but in the end it was fine. I ordered a thin crust pie, when they didn't show up an hour later, I called again, I reiterated the order, and they assured me that the driver is on his way. It would be here within 10 to 15 minutes. When he showed up my pie was not thin crust, I called and spoke with management and he said they didn't offer thin crust. I reiterated that I had order a thin crust and would like a refund and to return the pie. The manager was not helpful and told me to just enjoy the pie that I had and be happy. Wow!!!! Surprised to see this place get 4 stars. The soups taste and look canned. The meat sauce was ok. Some of the other sauces seemed full of preservatives for the ingredients, and it was seasoned with salt on top of that which made it so salty it was almost unpalatable. Garlic bread was good. This is the best Italian place here. We always get a pizza from here during our stay in Ormond Beach. The pizzas are very large and we always have left overs. The Feta salad is excellent also. Tried the Tiramisu and was not disappointed!!! read more
