Dr. Gerson, the man who popularized fresh juice cleanses to cure cancer, said you should NOT drink juice which is not organic, because with juice made from non-organic produce, you're getting a concentrated fast-absorbing dose of pesticides and herbicides. Especially with celery. In addition, non-organic produce is grown with sewage sludge, the stuff municipal water treatment plants remove from sewer water. I can count on two hands how many times I've been here and every time it's always two employees working. It doesn't matter what time of day. Two girls or a male and female but always two. I always have to wait more than ten minutes for my order. It isn't rocket science and it has nothing to do with COVID 19. They didn't ask if orders were for here or to-go, but all of the acai bowls I saw come out were in disposable containers which I found odd considering that most of the menu boasts vegan or raw ingredients. I don't know if they sometimes have reusable utensils and were out of them, but it just seemed wasteful to me. Overall, it was a decent acai bowl. I got the tropical one and added almond butter but the pineapple tasted frozen still and didn't seem fresh. I have been to this location a few times. It is bigger than the other one I have been to in Tempe. This location seems to be faster but in an odd way. I ordered a bowl and it was ready in about 2 minutes. It made me suspect they had some premade ones ready to go. I heard no blending or anything in the back. My most recent visit i went on my lunch break to get a smoothie and the 2 employees working there were seated and eating. There are glass windows for the whole store, they had to see me coming but didnt bother to stop eating or get up till I walked in and made it to the counter. I ordered eith one girl who had to cover her mouth with her hand because she still had food in it and the other girl went in to make my smoothie. No hand washing, just threw on some gloves and made my smoothie then went right back to eating her food. It was weird and unprofessional in my opinion. I was initially concerned it wouldn't be enough food for a whole meal but it really was. They have a choice of 10-15 different acai bowls, which is what i was interested in. They also have smoothies. You pick a bowl flavor but can also upgrade & add a variety of extras- like nut butter, protein powder, hemp seeds, etc. the bottom half of the bowl is the thick acai smoothie part, & the top has granola, fruit & other goodies! If you're not used to it being thick and icy, just wait for it to melt! I joined the rewards program and pulled up the coupon once to look when it was valid.
