Food good, DJ did a great job, and now for the bad bartender told me the beverage I ordered was 8 bucks, but only gave me 11 dollars change from a 20 dollar bill (auto tip?). The place is nice inside, but the main room is severely under ventilated. Fix the ventilation and let your bartenders know it's NOT ok to steal and this could be a FIVE star review. read more

So I've been here several times before with my wife. We love this place. This time we came with a large group. We called ahead to make sure it was ok and they were so accommodating. At the end of the evening everyone told me they enjoyed their evening and complimented the food and our waitress, she was great. The only thing that was disappointing is that they've gotten rid of the trivia. We sold everyone on it. The waitress said they got rid of it forever. Please bring it back for like 1 night a week! This place is definitely gives hipster vibes,with dim lighting and eccentric decor! I enjoyed every visual detail of Uncommon. I went for a late happy hour, and the server was friendly and bubbly. She helped with drink choices and made recommendations. I didn't order any food as I went for drinks only. Showed up to the Uncommon never before hearing about it, so I had 0 expectations. It was a Saturday night so it was a bit busy, nothing like OT scottsdale, but they have a couple pool tables and some arcade games in the back. It is a bit difficult to order drinks if you're at the pool tables or in the back with the games, but all the drinks were pretty typical, nothing crazy, but not bad. Our waitress was kind, but she was attending to a large birthday party so it was a bit difficult to find her to order drinks or close out a tab. The bar is quite over stimulating with lots of neon colors and lights, but definitely gives off the arcade vibe that they're going for. read more

We stopped in here on a Sunday late afternoon and was greeted by Thea -- she was absolutely awesome! She showed us the game room, walked us through the menu, helped customize a couple drinks for us, and gave appetizer suggestions. Super friendly, bubbly, and fun to chat with -- definitely ask for her when you go (she's moving into bartending, though ). The food was so good! I had the citrus salad with grilled chicken -- perfectly cooked and full of flavor -- and my date had the Chicken Honey Hot Cluck sandwich... also amazing! The music and atmosphere were great, and the game room is such a fun bonus -- photo booth, pool table, darts, the works. All around, great vibe, great service, and great food. Stopped in here on a random Monday to eat an early dinner with the fam. It was dead. There was only one other table and they were gone within 5 minutes of us sitting. The atmosphere is fun. The music is loud, something my kids complained about constantly. There are lots of games to play, but you do have to buy a play card and put the money on it. The food came out quick and was pretty good. We did order drinks from the special drink menu, which changes regularly. They were good tasting, but had no hint of alcohol in either one, even though they were supposed to be made with vodka. Little disappointing to pay so much for a drink and feel like you are drinking a Shirley temple. They do not have a big menu and there were not a lot of vegetarian options. This place is atrocious, sat at the bar for 20 minutes, the one bartender mick kept telling me to hold on he need to go do other things, mind you he was just serving the rest of the people that worked here and were just yucking it up at the bar after their shift. I would understand if they were busy but there were a total of 6 guests at the bar, if you can't serve 6 guests drinks inside 20 minutes you have no business being a bartender. A group of us met here immediately post retirement and enjoyed it immensely. I had a Reuben with crinkle cut fries. It's a common dish executed perfectly. The marbled rye was bold and savory. The corned beef was hot, ever so crispy on the edges with a perfect amount of dressing. Delicious. The fries were lightly salted golden fried happiness. The bartender was quick to take orders, refill drinks and took care of us. Loved the place. We played pool and arcade games, all in all it was a great place to while away the afternoon. This is a big place and it's fun so why is it not busy? Is it because Tuesday nights are quiet? I honestly don't know. The server was sweet and service was good. There is a drum set hanging from the ceiling and there is plenty of sitting inside and out. The food was pretty tasty. The ones who had burgers said they were very good. The pillowy potatoes were devoured. The pretzel was great and so were the mustard and cheese sauce. The chacuterie needed some help. The games were arcade games and there were pool tables and other table games I believe. The gaming area was not cheap. Everyone had fun. It was a birthday and when the reservation was called in they asked if it was a celebration. They did nothing but our waitress wished a happy birthday. Huge restaurant with arcade games and pool! There's also plentiful TVs to watch sports. I got the Uptown Burrito from the brunch menu and it was good, but needed some seasoning for the filet mignon. The meat was a bit chewy. The chipotle sauce that it comes with is okay, not to my tasting. It also comes with side potatoes as well and I chose the party potatoes which has melted cheese on it. Curiosity had me check the Uncommon out for lunch with some friends on Friday Jan 6, 2023. At 11:25 am we were greeted with a smile by a man who showed us around the establishment and then to our seats. A hello from across the room from the only other person around, the friendly bartender. Being the first patrons of the day, I was able to video the inside without any interference. Pong, shuffleboard, rod hockey and Pac-man were just some nostalgic games blinking waiting to be played. The lunch menu (that I couldn't locate online) consisted of three varieties of salads that are presented in bowls or "flatwiches." We ordered one of each variety -an Asian, a Caesar and a Southwest like flavor. The salad and chicken inside the Caesar and Southwest flatwiches were very tasty but we both left the outside (pita bread)/because they were dry, dry dry. Perhaps a bit more dressing would have helped. I'm told the Asian salad was good. The service was friendly and very attentive. During our 1 1/2 stay, the place had approximately five other tables come in for lunch. It would have been six parties but after they saw the limited menu, they went elsewhere. I would think this bar/restaurant/arcade would be hopping in the evenings for the full menu is available and the beverage menu is extensive. We had fun photos taken in front of the 1984 "16 Candles" movie poster. This place brings back 80's memories and has good music that creates a playful vibe! Have been dying to check this place out since they opened! Came by early so we could get a table for the live music. This place is badass. I'm immediately transported to my childhood with all the decor and music! The thought and time that went into everything!! The waterfuls game, the see through light up phone, the garbage pail kids, the Ty Beanie Babies, the Atari joystick, Zoltar!! I just walked around looking at everything while waiting for the table and it just made me so happy! Then you add in the old school arcade games, the skee ball, the Chun Li and Blanka painting, the exposed brick, the old movie posters, and the drainage pipe two tops, and I'm just in heaven. I could spend hours here! We got the char-grilled artichoke and fried green beans to start. Hubby ordered the burger and I got the green goddess salad. Burger was juicy and the sourdough bread was a nice change from a bun. The salad was jam packed with topping and it was a generous portion. The food was all good and the server was friendly and checked in on us frequently to make sure our drinks never ran out. I love that they bring the check out in an old DVD case! After eating and hanging out for a bit, we walked around the arcade and played a few games and the girls stopped to take a pic in the photo booth. First things first, tonight was a little busy due to the fact that it was NYE '24 so keep that in mind while reading the review. I ordered the spinach dip and that was great, it came with tortilla chips and pita slices! It came out at the same time as the pizza but was ordered at the same time as pizza. The water was not potable in my opinion, the water had a very unfamiliar taste but the other people at my table all agreed it was safe to assume that we shouldn't consume it. The soda was fine. The pizza I had was called "mashed" this is due to the fact that instead of sauce, those pizza uses mashed potatoes as the base layer. I added mushrooms because I love me some mushies! The pizza was delicious at the table and at home where I devoured the left overs later the next day! I definitely say try this place out if you like pizza and want something a little uncommon. Definitely order something with alcohol or carbon when choosing a beverage. OH! Also, they have a few arcade games around the establishment that they give you a card to swipe and play most of the games. The ones that the card doesn't access can be purchased to play! read more

I'm not just writing this to complain, just tired of getting ripped off with outrageous prices for average to above average food in a residential part of town with nothing but families- definitely NOT a hotspot or prime area. Shame that I need to write this but save your money. This place is way too expensive. Again, the sandwich was good and the service was great, but the prices are over the top and crazy. This place brings me back to my childhood. Rubik's Cubes, beanie babies, old school arcade games! Plus drinks on theme with the 80's/early 90's. It is so cool! A very fun and blast from the past new concept in downtown Chandler. There's a neat wall of 90s memorabilia, and a variety of arcade games including: skee ball, pong, and pac man. I ordered the k-pop chicken with krinkle fries. The chicken sandwich had good flavor, however the fries definitely tasted like they came from the freezer, with no salt or flavor and not warm or crispy enough. I also ordered the Poppin Cherry Limeade to drink, it was tasty and reminded me of a shirley temple. The music and DJ was extremely loud, even when it was in the other room. Would highly recommend they louder the volume, so people can dine and eat and enjoy conversations with their parties. Went here with my family on Sat night and it was busy. Waited about 30mins which gave us time to check out the games in the back. Bought a 5 dollar card and it wasn't obvious how long that would last. It didn't, as it only afforded one game of skee ball, one game of pop-a-shot and one game of pinball. Table was ready and right next to the band that was warming up. We were there about 90min total and the band never started playing...possibly technical issues but missed out of some live music. Food was good- I got a Detroit style pizza with hot honey and it was really good and much larger than anticipated. Wife got Mac and cheese which she enjoyed. Kids liked their meals as well. Worth trying again and now we know to expect to pay more for food and games than anticipated. read more

I've been here a few times & loved the vibe, service & wings, etc. I live in Chandler a mile away. This evening Saturday 3/22, they absolutely blew me away! My cousin Deb Mager, hubby and her son's baseball team were here from Denver CO. We had a party of 45 people. We called the restaurant around 3 pm today and they said yes we can accommodate you! We ended up coming about 15 mins earlier and they were all ready for us. The uncommon team was OUTSTANDING!!! Excellent service, drinks came out asap, they provided a team menu, food was excellent and fast, they checked on us a lot. The baseball team ages 13-15 had so much fun with the games and we all left full and so happy! I'll definitely be coming back soon!!! read more

The food here was great! We got the shrimp appetizer as well as the cauliflower wings, meaty big and delicious with the Korean barbecue sauce and you have to say 8.9 out of 10 pretty solid. We're definitely come here again and it was unhappy with three dollars off so can't beat that. read more

Family decided to gather for an early new years to visit, eat, drink a bit, and play a few games. What an incredible find! The Uncommon is just that ... not your ordinary watering hole. Great prices for drinks, huge portions of fantastic food, TV's to watch your favorite team, and games to entertain young and old alike. Our group of about 20 was easily accommodated. Service was prompt and friendly, and we were made to feel like a member of the family. I ordered Thee Reuben - it came out fast and was hot and delicious--- OMG!! So much food! I only made it through about a third of it, but can't wait for the leftovers. It was loaded with meat, cheese, kraut, and dressed like it was going to the ball! Everyone loved their food! We wanted to try the Geeks Who Drink trivia, so we headed to The Uncommon on a Thursday night. Trivia was fun, but disappointing that they didn't have it displayed on any of the TVs. Our server, Ari, was attentive. We ordered the meat lovers pizza, wings, and some drinks. The buffalo wings were pretty good. The pizza was not my favorite; it was very chewy, maybe it was underbaked. I enjoyed my broken blender colada, but switched to something cheaper on draught after the first one. The adult cherry limeade was incredibly sweet, even by my standards. They have a small array of arcade games, a couple of pool tables, and dart boards. I despise that they require reloadable cards to play the games, instead of quarters or even the less desirable tokens. I understand the benefits cards offer owners, but they just kill arcade vibes for me. Overall, I did enjoy The Uncommon, and may be willing to give them another try. Unfortunately, I'll just have avoid my favorite food group, pizza, and try something else on their menu instead. read more

Dallas took care of our large group the other night and though there was a drop in communication in coordinating our large table reservation (I checked, no text D:), they bent over backwards to get tables together for us and gave us absolutely delightful customer service. Even with a few no-shows for our party, they treated us with the respect of a corporate event and made it easy to separate checks while making excellent food and drink recommendations. Worthy of only a one star rating. Unfortunately we were taken by this restaurants presentation of its upity, gameroom eatery atmosphere. What we got was the absolute worst customer experience in the hospitality industry. We had to wait for the hostess to seat us, which seemed like a project in itself to her. Once seated we decided on chicken wings for an appetizer, and we decided to order our dinner at same time as we didn't want to have to wait a long time. Well, 15 minutes later the chicken wings come, they looked delicious !! They weren't, they were lukewarm at best, but they tasted good so we decided to eat them. We shouldn't have.. Another 20 minutes go by, no food....hmmm waitress says there a little behind. Another 10 minutes go by, no food.. ask waitress for the check and the manager. Manager comes over, I gently explain circumstances that we now have waited over 45 min and tell him this is unacceptable. His response.... Ill look into.. he never comes back. I leave a $20 on the table and as we start to leave table, the waitress shows up with our check. That was epic , they actually were going to make us pay after sitting for almost 50 min waiting on 2, yes just 2 hamburger meals. The least they could've done was apologize for the wait and comped the 2 ice teas , and the chicken wings. Good thing I left the 20 on the table. If your not into waiting on your food for an hour, or don't enjoy cold chicken wings, this place isn't for you. There isn't a single thing that would make me rate this place any higher then a one star. Do not recommend. Highly disappointed. read more
