The secret to Tennessee whisky: the Lincoln County process!
    Tom L.

Terrific tour and tasting experience! Great storytelling and an up-close look at one of the great whisky distilleries in America. And whatever tasting you sign up for, be sure to ask for the 18-year-old whisky. It's a show-stealer.

Just a wonderful tour and tasting experience in a classic distillery surrounding in a Tennessean hollow. Our tour guide Bobby was friendly with a pleasant demeanor and 100% in the know about the history of the distillery, their whisky making process and all of the whisky's they make. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful tasting room, shop and interesting distillery in a beautiful setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We stopped by here for a quick tasting. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to do the tour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was pretty good and quite empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you are not in the mood of experiencing the touristy Jack Daniel's experience, this is a good alternative with fewer crowds.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tasting is inside the gift shop/visitor center area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The whiskey selection was good. They also have free postcards, which you can mail to yourself or friends, which seemed pretty cute.

It was a stop on the whiskey trail that I was on. The staff were friendly and inviting. We opted for the tasting and it was 30 a piece. You get 6 tasting and a description of each. I will say the tasting is on the more pricer side compared to other distilleries on the trail. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The distillery is nice and have plenty of seating outside and in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a nice stop to get stamped on the trail. I would recommend for the experience.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great "little" distillery, the setting in the hollow is beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tour was fun and very informative, our guide Jay did an awesome job and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the atmosphere of the tasting room, very warm and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The flights were an interesting tasting of 4 different whiskeys, you can purchase additional whiskeys for tasting also. I highly recommend paying a visit to this great little gem.

Had the chance recently to visit and tour Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. (a.k.a. George Dickel). This place is tucked away near Tullahoma, TN and is an easy drive from Nashville. If you like Tennessee whiskey or are just interested in the distillation process and history, then this short tour is worth the trip. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and it was not crowded at all. The tour group we were placed in had maybe 10 people total. We did the basic tasting tour, which included a tour of the distillery and tastings of 4 George Dickel products. Our tour guide, Larry (I think), was great! He was very knowledgeable and funny. He certainly kept us entertained on the tour. It was approximately 1 hour for the tour and tasting. There is a nice gift shop and bottle shop as well. Here you can find souvenirs such as shirts, hats and a variety of glasses. The bottle shop also has some items you can't find in your local liquor stores. Overall this was a very nice trip. It's a short drive from Nashville or Chattanooga. Easy to find and very informative. My goal is to visit every distillery on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, and I certainly recommend this stop for any whiskey enthusiast.

George Dickel is distilled in the hills of Tennessee; located in Cascade Hollow. It is truly a smooth, sipping whiskey with a charcoal filtered taste. I had the opportunity of touring their distillery on Saturday and the tour was excellent. I highly recommend it for traveler's passing through the State of Tennessee. We also got a 'Tasting Selection' included in our tour. They have a gift shop and 'souvenir bottle' shop on site. Follow me on Yelp for more unique places to see in Tennessee.

Excellent tour! I really enjoyed this tour. We say everything from start up until bottling (that's done offsite). I liked seeing the fermenting process in the open vats. That was the first time I've seen that. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was nice hearing the history of Cascade Hollow distillery and how it became Dickel. The tasting was really good. I am not a rye whiskey fan but their rye was pretty good! We ended up taking home a bottle of their Bottled in Bond #3.

As part of the whiskey trail, stopped here to check out George Dickel spirits. This is absolutely worth the stop. It's small, but good enough for a gift shop. A large variety of souvenir options. I did the tasting and all four were really good. The two staff members that we interacted with were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great stop to have a drink, sit back and relax for a few! Beautiful country side too.

    Need to restock soon.

Probably the best American made whisky ever. There are others brands with fancier bottles, or edgier names that cost 4 times as much out there...... but none come close to what George Dickel produces. When you're ready for the best, give Dickel a try. I promise, after you do, your whiskey selection will never be the same without it. Whenever I go to an event, I will take a bottle of George Dickel as a "gift" so I don't have to drink whatever they are serving for free. It may be harder to find then the run-of-the-mill whiskeys out there, simply ask you local liquor store to start carrying it. Once people realize how incredible it is, they'll won't be able to keep it in stock (that's the problem I have).

The slushy was absolutely better in the hot summer day as we walked the property to learn about the history of the origination and the master distillers story. Years of history and purity are what make the whiskey what it is. Enjoyed world wide, and for a good reason. I would have just wished the tour was more centralized around the water tunnel where they show you the demineralization process of the water they use. Probably the coolest spot in Tennessee. Simply a MUST stop and worth the price of the tour. Absolutely loved every bit of it his tour. Worth every ounce of sweat to experience one of my favorite whiskeys! The joys were the history lesson as well as the process. Then having lunch at Mary Bobo's and the tour of the Squire House were a joy. If you have the time, this is a must! It is absolutely the best distillery tour I have gone on and one of the top 5 tastings I have participated in the world! The knowledge and interaction of the Docent was amazing. From the moment they greet you at the start of your tour all the way to the end of the day, they are engaged and loving it! Our guide, Justin Grogan, has a personal connection to Mr Jack that he shares along the journey and shared a story that is very captivating. It is a must do if you're in Tennessee!

The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and cozy, with plenty of seating for humans to settle in and enjoy a whiskey flight. The staff immediately made me feel welcome and even brought over a water bowl without being asked. As a professional lounge dog, I appreciated the hospitality. My humans enjoyed sampling several whiskeys while I worked hard supervising the tasting process from my blanket-covered seat at the bar. The tasting room has a comfortable, laid-back feel that makes it easy to spend an hour or two escaping the weather. The unexpected highlight? The gift shop sells a plush dog toy of one of their whiskey bottles. Naturally, my humans bought one for me, and it quickly became one of my favorite toys. If you're traveling with a dog and looking for a dog-friendly indoor activity in Chattanooga, this is an easy recommendation.
