Usually have great meals here, but Saturday night was not up to par. Arrived at 7:25 and finally got our food at 9:00 after chasing down our waitress. Nachos arrived with burned brisket and no cheese at all. Turkey sandwiches were pretty good but missing the cranberry mayonnaise. Raw French fries and very weak drinks topped off our evening. Our party of 5 was very disappointed and after expressing our disappointment to the waitress, she claimed it was very busy due to the Columbus Day holiday. Every summer, the family makes the pilgrimage to Lake George, NY. This has been an annual family tradition since the inception of Gaslight Village and when LGPD worked the intersections on Canada Street. A few summers ago we stumbled upon this gem where the food is not only top notch, but the service rivals the Walt Disney World like experience. Last night was no different. There was five of us and we took advantage of their Tuesday Chicken Wing Deal (10 wings/$6.99) and one of us got a burger, renowned for their use of local butchers. Coming up from the 585 (Rochester, NY), we were no strangers to outstanding chicken wings. I can honestly say these were some of the largest wings I have come by. They were cooked to perfection and sauced generously in their Buffalo Mild sauce. Unlike most joints that do wing specials, bleu cheese and celery were included here, an ample amount to boot. We also indulged in a basket of fries that came to the table piping hot and crisped to perfection. I can't say enough of how amazing this local joint is, but we're sure as heck happy we found it. Back down the hill after a morning of shopping at Oscar's Adirondack Smoked House, my Dad and I spotted a little inn by the side of the road, and after a quick perusal of the Yelp ratings, we decided to stop for lunch. George Henry's is named after an avid sportsman from the region, and this converted inn has been remodeled into a small "locals" restaurant and tavern. The day we were there, most of the dining room was taken over by a local softball team, and the little guys were really excited for winning against a tough competitor. Methinks the coaches were ready for a few beers, but everyone was on their best behavior. The menu is the usual pub fare of appetizers, soups, salads, chicken wings, burgers, sandwiches, and paninis, with a few interesting twists to show off the local cuisine. I had a cup of their Beef, Bison, and Beer chili which was made with ground beef and bison with tomatoes, onions, pinto beans, garlic and chili powder, simmered with Bear Naked Ale. YUM!!!! To that I added a standard half-pound Black Angus burger with fries. My Dad, being the adventurous soul that he is, had the French Onion soup, followed by the Larry the Lobster burger with sweet potato fries. His "burger" was lobster knuckle and claw meat on a bun with chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. He was busy making happy faces while gobbling down his sandwich, so I knew that he was enjoying his lunch. We were in Lake George for business and wanted to try a local restaurant. The hotel recommended George Henry's so we gave it a try. We are burger fans so he tried the 1/2 pound burger with American cheese and I tried the Irish Cheddar Burger. I was a little skeptical because the bar is on the other side of a thin wall but it was a nice little place. The waitress was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food was great, the burgers were juicy and well seasoned. We will definitely be back next year and recommend this restaurant without hesitation! read more

Went here for dinner with family and friends. We aren't from this area but you would have never thought that by how the entire staff treated us like we were family. Hands down some of the best service we've experienced. Our waitress was the best! Very friendly and accommodating to our every need. The food is is by the best we've had in and around the Lake George area!! There were 5 of us total and everything that was placed on our table was amazing! A sign on the wall says they support local farmers, breweries, and such. You can tell by how fresh everything tasted. From salads to soups, burgers to steaks, and deserts, all so good!! Did George Henry's get a new cook? I brought my husband here because I LOVE the burgers, and it was our last night on vacation. Well needless to say, we will not be dining here again. Anyway, I noticed that the menu had been updated since I was there about a month or so ago. I ordered the sourdough burger (medium)and hubs ordered the Warrensburger but in 8oz. (med-rare) We received well done!! I'm not one for sending food back but we let Cassandra our server know and she offered to do nothing about it. For it being my husbands first time there, he was pissed to say the least. Both of us are in the biz and that was piss poor service! Whether you're busy or not, do your job right! My Mom and I are in from Connecticut for a long weekend, staying at a local Airbnb, we happened to find George Henry's on yelp and the reviews looked great. I'm so glad we decided on this restaurant, our waitress Olivia was perfect! She recommended the key lime pie for dessert and it did not disappoint. If I could give 0 stars I would. My family and I are locals who came here regularly for almost ten ten years and we used to really enjoy the food and atmosphere. During our last visit, we came in and the staff/hostess were extremely rude and refused to put two smaller tables together and seat us at one table as a party of 6, when there were multiple tables open to do so. The hostess gave no explanation as to why they could not put the tables together, which we would have completely understood if we were communicated with in a respectful and clear manner. The staff then proceeded to completely ignore us and not seat us at all, after which we ended up leaving and going to a different restaurant with much better food and exceptionally friendly service. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had at ANY restaurant and we are severely disappointed by the rude behavior of the staff and lack of hospitality. We will not be supporting this restaurant any longer as the food is okay at best and the service is the worst service found in the area. read more

We've frequented this restaurant each year since coming to Lake George. The food is very good. They use nice ingredients; many local from butchers. Definitely good food and will continue to stop each visit HOWEVER I have 4 stars bec this trip we got food to go. When I walked into the dining area the worst smell took over. I cannot imagine what would make it smell legitimately like someone had a BAD bathroom emergency and they left the doors open to the bathroom to air it out. It was honestly horrible. It didn't even come close to smelling like food. I was one of their first orders of the evening so I understand it wouldn't be filled with burger smell yet but whatever awful smell overtook that place really made it almost intolerable to wait the 5 min I had to wait. Me and my family are all visibly Hispanic and unfortunately we have to be very mindful of where we stopped to eat when we're in places that aren't local to us. When we walked in, we were treated so amazingly nice and I am so happy that we received the treatment we did. The food was phenomenal, the burgers we all ordered where to order, their medium well is the perfect medium well you would want on a burger. Another great aspect is that their food shots locally, knowing that this happens here makes me want to use them again. So the family vacations for a week each summer in the Adirondacks. This year we were in the area of Warrensburg. Our last night together we eat out at a nicer local restaurant. We found this place online and the menu looked great! We came in right after a large group of about a dozen in this somewhat small restaurant. We figured service would be slower than expected, which would be fine. After a drink at the bar and about a 15 minute wait, we were told our table was ready. We all sat, the waitress came over after about 10 minutes. She took an order for a couple salads, a couple french onion soups, a scallop app and a beer. It took another 20 minutes for them to come out. We're now 30 minutes from being seated. Still not too upset and understanding of the large party before us. But we're noticing tables of two, that came in long after we were sat, now receiving their dinners! I spoke to the hostess, who was trying not to be seen it appeared from behind a county and register. She offered nothing! She only appeared when someone came in to the restaurant. Our empty plates have now sat 20 minutes. I finally got fed up and brought them to her, she didn't get the hint and didn't apologize. The wait continued and now I got up a third time to talk to our waitress. She apologized but had no explanation as to how we could be there an hour from ordering and there was no hint our dinners were coming. She NEVER revisited our table to offer more water, drinks, etc. Now an hour and 10 minutes in and we're hungry, frustrated and done. I said we'll just pay for what we got and leave. She said we didn't have to pay. Thankfully! I just don't understand how a legit business can be run like that. This seemed to be a nice place. Lots of locals and vacationers alike it appeared. So much business not realized due to, in my view, a worthless hostess, a waitress who didn't understand our long wait and address it proactively, a cook staff that seemed to favor small table, in the words of the waitress, and an owner/manager that was nonexistent. The seven of us left and got great service and delicious food at Tommy Gun's Pizza down the street. We should have started there!!! read more

How lucky were we to have found this place last summer during a rainstorm? On a whim, we pulled in, thinking it looked like a good spot for some comfort food, but we saw from the menu that it was much more than that. Feeling adventurous, we tried two unknown things: he had the 'pork wings' and I had the 'lobster knuckle' sandwich. In our ongoing "who ordered better" contest, we both won! This was a great example of trying something new, and being blown away. This afternoon, almost a year to the day later, we found ourselves back here with a friend. The friend ordered scallops in bourbon and brown sugar glaze, hubby had the pork wings, again, and I had the New England clam chowder, a side salad, and steamed littlenecks. And, once again, everything was delicious. Our friend, who has recently decided that "taste trumps quantity", was so impressed that he ordered a steak sandwich with Caramelized onions and homemade chips for us all to share. My husband ordered the chicken fingers and I had the buffalo chicken salad. Both chickens were fried perfectly. So tasty! The waitress was really nice and working hard. Once our order was in, it was a long wait. One at our table commented her burger was almost room temperature when it arrived. I had the Fat Angus. My mother who was in the car and I ordered from this restaurant. We ordered take out and it was not very good. The food was mediocre. The wait for the food was over an hour. I had to ask a couple of times if our order was ready, the staff was busy waiting on others and asking them if they were okay but never offered to sell me a drink to ease the waiting. We were at this establishment on Friday, October 14, 2022 around 6pm. There were other tables that ordered their meal at the same time as we did. I was told the wait would be forty minutes. Forty minutes later I go back into the restaurant to get our food and those tables were served and eating. I was told that we had to wait abit longer. I asked for no fries or mash and was kindly offered a double side of vegetables. There was an issue with the vegetables - the restaurant had run out - and we were offered extra salad, which was nice. We first received our salads - standard salad, nothing special. Then we received our meal. We both asked for medium rare steaks. They were still definitely rare. They were topped with a creamy Gorgonzola and caramelized onions - delicious. Didn't mind the steak being rare. I still received my side of mash although I asked for no starch. It's fine by me, but it all got thrown out. The quality of meat wasn't all too fantastic. It was very fatty all around and was rather veiny in some parts. Sometimes I felt like I was slaughtering the cow myself. It was an ok meal. I wouldn't say the steak was a $21 steak, though.
