On our 1st night of vacation, we wanted a place close by where we were staying. We had a great meal at George Henry's. They had a diverse selection of pub food and daily specials. Food was prepared well and there was a nice selection of craft beers to choose from. Our waitress, Cassandra, couldn't have been better and provided friendly and attentive service. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and we would definitely recommend it to others. Parking can be a little tough at times, only because it gets crowded. read more

So, you may be tempted to eat here based on the reviews and after a long day of hiking and a read of their menu, which sounds delicious. However, you will be making a BIG mistake. First, we tried ordering pickup and were told that they were not doing pick up that day (which is odd bc people were walking out with to go containers when we arrived.). When you do arrive, you will have to swim through billows of cigarette smoke from customers smoking right outside the front door. Once you enter you will stand for five minutes waiting for someone to acknoledge you. When you are finally seated you will be told that they are not serving outside even though their are outside tables. You will then wait ten minutes before the aforementioned disinterested waitress will take your drink and meal order. After 20 minutes your disgusting chicken wings will arrive soaked in gross sauce and then your meals will arrive with about a pound of butter slathered on each piece of bread. There you go. Coffee is good. I do have to give them five stars for their menu and food descriptions, but everything else is absolutely horrible. Please just drive a few hundred yards down the road and order some fries from mcdonalds. You will thank me, i guarantee it. The next morning, I was contacted by the owner through a Yelp message to apologize for our experience. Although, this doesn't change our experience it's amazing that a local business owner would reach out and apologize the next morning. I have to say that we may give this local business another chance. Todd was extremely apologetic and willing to refund our money for the meal or offer a free meal back at his place. Again, this doesn't change our experience but does put in light an owner that truly wants to make his business better. To that I commend him! I wish we had more owners like that. Stopped here for lunch the other day and WOW, such awesome food and friendly service. We had the Cuban Sandwich (great meats, bread, and flavors) and a burger (perfectly cooked, with excellent add-ons). The potato skins are $7.99 and when they came out, I was extremely disappointed. It consisted of two small potatoes, cut in half, a slice of cheese dropped on it, with a couple pieces of bacon. Could have made it at home in 30 seconds. The mark-up on this dish must be like 5,000%...so stay away from this dish. Burgers are good but overpriced......shouldnt have to pay 13.99 to 15.99 for a burger in a simple place in a rural location. On the way from Albany to Plattsburgh, stopped for a bite & a drink. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. Hubby ordered the clams, which was the special, as an app. Said they where best he ever had. Very garlicky & tasty. We split the Ruben sandwich which was more then enough for 2 people! We tried this place on the recommendation of a local resident. It was great. Our server Corley was very pleasant and efficient. When we got there there were only a couple of tables seated but as we sat there it was a steady stream of people coming in the door. They filled up very quickly. It was a Tuesday night which is all you can eat wings and entertainment at 7:00. It took a while for our food to come but we played Quick Draw while we were waiting. I had the crab cakes and my husband had skirt steak. Both came with fresh green beans and real mashed potatoes. We will definitely go again. Ask for Corley, she was great. read more

My friends and I are staying at a campground near by and were looking for the perfect place to get something to eat, that would be QUICK and DELICIOUS. The reviews about this place had my standards VERY high and they were broken very fast. Upon entering we were in fact greeted and sat fast and everything after that went downhill. We waited ten minutes to not be greeted with a name and how are you but an are you ready to order? When ordering we decided to order our appetizers with the dinners so that we didn't have to wait for our server to come back and order than.. we told them that we wanted everything out as soon as it's ready. *AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER* we finally received our food and between that time we ran out of waters, never got a reason as to why we had waited so long or why our appetizers never came out as APPETIZERS.. I will not disclose our servers name because I have a heart but the service was absolutely subpar.. unlike the other server who seemed very friendly and attentive.. if I was a local this place would not be on my top list of must go to's. Disclosure I am also a server as are my other friends and my fiancé's a manager at a restaurant and we can sympathize when the place is busy, and whatever may be going on but I can think of zero reasons why our experience was the way it was. This is a really nice spot in Warrensburg and obviously is a solid restaurant. the place is Pleasant and the staff of waitresses all helpful and attentive. Their Ruben is as good as any and better than most, so if you're looking for something other than a burger, that is what I would highly recommend. We also had the WarrensBurger smothered in cheese and Oscar's Smokehouse bacon. This Burger is 1 lb of beef and I ate less than half of it.. although I did eat all of the bacon.. it was too good to not finish. For side dishes we upgraded for $2 each to the beer batter onion rings and sweet potato fries both excellent and something I would recommend versus basic French fries or chips. Pretty blonde waitress Olivia really was on top of things and made sure everything was perfect and in conversation she shared that she's getting married this October.. so stop in, have a Reuben and congratulate her. read more

George Henry's makes, perhaps the best hamburgers in town, however when I went to pick up my takeout order at the bar there was absolutely no Covid precautions. Love this place and I would definitely come back if around (although I live far from here). This place is located in a small NY town with a few spaced out restaurants and small shops. This place is quite old school, with one side bar, one side restaurant. The restaurant had wooden floors, tables, and walls with a few photos from long ago. The menu isn't too big and everything is pretty cheap. Service was really good. We just stopped for burgers, so we didn't try anything too extreme. We started with an order of medium wings (10 for $11). They were quite large and were succulent as well. Definitely try those. I got a classic half pound burger for $10, which was extremely reasonable. The beef was cooked to my liking and tasted fresh with the vegetables. Their potato chips were very nice and light. Their local burger (bacon, smoked cheddar) was very good with very complex flavors. read more

After a day of exploring the Adirondacks, I was looking for somewhere to have a reasonable, yet filling meal. I came to George Henry's after seeing a banner on the side of the restaurant touting its award winning burgers and wings. As a result, I decided to try one of their burgers. The establishment has separate dining and bar areas. The meat that they use for the burgers is indeed fresh, as are a number of the other ingredients that they use, and the cooks are not skimpy on what they will put on the burger. You may have to pay extra for some of the burger toppings, however. I will keep this place in mind if I am in the area. read more

We enjoyed the informational story about how the restaurant got its name! Our waters were forgotten until it was time for our order to be taken and I was surprised that for a restaurant that touts the best burger there wasn't a veggie burger option available, or even a veggie sandwich to choose from. My husband got the Warrensburgher and it truly was huge, cooked to perfection, but his fries were cold. I ordered a French Onion soup but was disappointed in the 10 croutons put inside which left little onions and broth to be enjoyed on a cold day.
