GrillFire has a nice atmosphere, and the service from check-in to the waitress and staff was good. Unfortunately the food was just okay. We ordered Adobo Chicken and Shrimp and Lobster Pasta. The flavor with the Pasts was decent but the pasta was swimming in sauce, less sauce or more pasta would have been nice. If you're into presentation of food they could've done better here. The Chicken Adobo was over rice and has a side of green beans. The green beans were delicious but the chicken which came in a bowl and not on a plate was just okay, and they put it on top of rice which made the rice soggy. Chicken should only be served in a bowl if it's soup. We did have the Sangria...thumbs up to the bar staff. And yes the five cotton candy at the end of every meal that was fun!! Would i go back? Maybe for a happy hour but not anytime soon. I wouldn't say do not go but I would say ask lots of questions bout what you order his may help you abound ordering the wrong thing. My son and I went here for a dinner date before a movie. I was here visiting. My son is stationed there so, this was our first meal. The place is huge! We went around 6pm. We seated right away which made us happy. Our movie started at 745. This was the longest wait of my life! The atmosphere is dark...and that a good thing because the carpet and seat are suspect. This place could use a cleaning. It's also very cold. The ceiling is the roof. There was cold draft. I asked the waiter, he stated its always a little cold. We ordered quickly letting the server know we were on a time crunch. It took 15mins to bring out our drinks and bread. The waiter was nice but very talkative. We didn't get our food until 715pm. Again it was busy. The food was delicious! My steak was seasoned well and the cook was perfect. But I had to scarf it down. I was unable to enjoy my meal. I came here above the influence so I might be bias right now lol but it was so fulfilling went home knocked out after eating with my girls. We came for brunch and got some of the apps. It was my first time trying a orange crush, I don't really care for vodka but it was a good wake me up drink. The monkey bread is really not monkey bread, it's literally a big cinnamon roll dipped deep in caramel. The brussel sprouts were so good whatever sauce/dressing they use for it sealed the deal that it was my fave app. The chili pop shrimp was good needs a little more kick to it and the crab cake minis was so bomb!!! When we were about to order our food we ended up getting the dinner menu due the waiter forgetting to tell us the end time of brunch. I didn't care for the menu anyway I like breakfast food but it wasn't enough options. Great! Had an enjoyable lunch here. This a great spot for business meetings, the ambiance is welcoming, professional, and quiet. There are large windows that let in tons of natural light and an outdoor eating area for nice days. The staff is very professional and friendly. This place is awesome!! I visited one night with family for my mom's birthday. Allll of the food was great, I ordered the crab minis. The prices are reasonable. There is a parking garage right outside. The ambiance is nice and cozy. This place is perfect for date night, an intimate girls night, or just a nice outing with family. It is an attachment to a hotel but it's a really nice hotel. Right outside is a colorfully lit waterfall which is great for photos as well as the lobby of the hotel. This is why if possible I like to visit an establishment twice. Still staying at The Hotel At Arundel Preserve, while working, I decided to give Grillfire a second try for breakfast. The service at the hotel is so amazing I figured I must've caught Grillfire on a bad day yesterday. Surely a hotel so concerned about the customer experience must also translate to the restaurants. I was correct! I ordered the CHESAPEAKE OMELTE with lump crab and home fries and my meal was superb. The omelet and the baby red potatoes were seasoned so well I wanted to peek into the kitchen to see who was cooking. Truly, it was that delicious! Adding to my experience was the outstanding service from Christina (management) and Tomasa. I was left with the impression that they really care about making Grillfire it's best and it shows. They were attentive to myself and other customers which will make an impression I wont soon forget. It felt like a five star experience. The best place in the restaurant in my opinion is by the fire. Meh. Just okay. The one thing I look forward to here is the cotton candy and the fact that they can accommodate large parties at the last minute. I had the crab cakes with asparagus and rice. I subbed out the asparagus for sweet potato wedges but still received both sweet potato wedges and asparagus. I flagged down our hostess and ask for rice instead of asparagus (again) and she brought me a bowl of rice. The crab cakes are mainly filler which is a disgrace for a $28 dish and to be a restaurant in the State of Maryland. I can expect that in other states but when your restaurant is located in a state that can source its seafood from waterways, you truly have no excuse. The sweet potato wedges were disgusting. They were grilled with some type of sweet sauce but had a disgusting charred taste while chewing and after taste. I took one bite from two wedges just to be sure but the taste was the same. The rice was bland but accompanied the filler crab cakes well. I didn't touch the asparagus as it was literally cooked to death and had no nutritional value by looks alone. The Friday after 4th of July I stopped in with my husband and son for lunch.This is an unusual restaurant because it is tucked in between apartments and a hotel. It is actually inside of the hoel. I don't typically have faith when it comes to this scenario, but the area seemed very nice and the restaurant itself was nice. They had indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside, because a parking lot view of apartments is not my thing. I ordered the grilled salmon with creamed spinach and my husband ordered the chicken tacos. We were not disappointed. My son only eats fries at restaurants and when she told me they were all out due to the holiday, I was bummed. It was not a big deal and the waitress was nice enough to let him try sweet potato fries, which he hated, at no charge. This is a great lunch spot if you're in the area. This spot is worth a visit. Service was excellent, steak taco's were awesome, pizza's pepperoni and marguerite were very good with thin crusts. Salads, Caesar and Wedge were terrific. Drinks Margarita's were fast and good! Had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table but wait not bad. Called for a reservation at 8pm but said maybe we would just come in if we were half hour early and wait but I was told I couldn't do that if I had a reservation? Huh? Bottom Line: A casual dining experience off the beaten path with good service. I've been here a handful of times now and overall I like this restaurant. It is attached to the lobby of The Hotel at Arundel Preserve (sometimes called the Hotel Arundel or Arundel Hotel or Preserve Hotel) and has a casual but classy ambiance complete with a cozy fireplace. I've sat at the bar and in thr dining room and the service was attentive here on all occasions. I like their fresh salads like the beet salad with candied walnuts. For a heartier option, the Chicken Oscar (crabmeat and hollandaise over a chicken breast) is rich but good. They also have a good steak menu and the fried brussell sprouts on the app menu are surprisingly slightly sweet and crunchy. If you are lucky you can score a parking spot out front otherwise park in the adjacent garage and walk through the hotel lobby. read more

No complaints really. We went on a Saturday night at about 9:30 and we're able to be seated immediately. It isn't a large restaurant but definitely not cramped. Ample spacing and the ambiance was nice. The food was excellent. I had the 20 oz bone in ribeye done medium. I could have done medium-well but it was fine. Had the mash potatoes for my side. My wife had the swordfish grilled. You can get it Cajun spiced or Thai chilli glazed also. That came with yellow rice. The vegetable of the day was grean beans so we ordered that and a cream spinach to share. I tasted my wife's swordfish and it was great. I also ate most of the green beans and spinach. Both were well seasoned and the green beans were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and just attentive enough. Parking is free in the garage. Not much parking outside. Overall a good experience. I would return for a quiet, intimate dinner mainly because it is close. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way though. read more

Sirloin, cheddar, horseradish....mmmm, just how meatloaf was meant to be. Swapped out the mashed potatoes for the green beans, somewhat under cooked but seasoned well. My husband had the burger, which I tried, and it was satisfying. The smoky flavor, how juicy it was...mmm. We swapped out the side for jumbo onion rings...they weren't jumbo, but they were very crispy. I couldn't resist trying dessert...but kinda wish I didn't. The flourless chocolate cake was like a tasteless fudge wedge. The berries and whipped cream that accompanied were way more enjoyable! If you've never been there, they give you cotton candy at the end of your meal. It's fun. :) It is quite loud in the restaurant! That would be the biggest improvement that would need to be made. I got the special (Scallops) which had a repulsive texture. My friend got the steak (ordered medium rare, but served medium well). It was superrrrrr under seasoned (and, when my friend mentioned it was cooked way beyond what was ordered, the waitress looked at her like my friend was a dummy). Lump crab cake was OkAY. You already know youda been better off getting this at a smaller local shop. Our bad :( At least the bread and the host team are good. Whoohoooo! I felt like a kid in a candy store at this trendy restie in The Hotel at Arundel Preserve because they actually give you a giant stick of COTTON CANDY when you get the check. What a creative and fun way to end your meal! And we're not gonna talk about what an aphrodisiac that stuff is... Anyway... I've only eaten here in the bar area a couple of times but I will go back again and again. The service is friendly and informative ( our server actually pulled up a chair and told us the history and background on the developer), but not overly personable that we wanted to shoo them away. The last time, the famous cheesy bread they bring out wasn't as warm but that bread is so delicious, it didn't make a difference. I got the highly recommended Chili Pops and a Pink Mojito. Both were divine! And I don't usually like mojitos because of the overwhelming mint taste. Nope, this drink was just the right combo of minty and sweet. If you're a fan of solid American food, you'll love this restaurant. They know how to do comfort food, for reals. The space is pretty, and the vibe's quite nice. You don't have to get super dressed up or anything, but it's definitely not a let's-put-on-flip-flops-and-go kind of place. I've been here several times since I've moved here and have enjoyed most everything I've tried on the menu. This may be completely irrational, but I totally judge restaurants based on their bread. Lucky for George Martin's, their bread = life. It's freshly-baked white bread stuffed with blue cheese (!!!!!) I could easily eat 3 of these by myself...in one sitting - FYI, no complimentary bread during lunch [insert sad face here], only dinner. Now, moving onto apps. I ordered their creamy tomato soup to start, and it was ridiculously delicious. It came out pipin' hot, and the flavor was super on point. This was a special, so I don't know if it's available on the daily, but it's worth getting if it's on the menu. I also got their stir fried brussel sprouts. I get them every time I come here. They're usually nomtastic, but they were (unfortunately) super salty this time + swimming in sauce. For my main course, my friend and I split two dishes. I ordered the Beets & Blue salad with grilled chicken, and she got barbecued baby back ribs ($18 for a half rack, $26 for a full rack). The salad was a bit overpriced, but it was yummy - $12 for the salad + $5 for the extra protein. It was an arugula & watercress mix with roasted red & gold beets, blue cheese, candied pecans, and crispy fried onions in a sherry vinaigrette. I could've done without the onions, but the dressing was good. Honestly, unless you're vegetarian, I recommend passing on the salad and getting a warm entree here. You'll get much more bang for your buck that way! My frand's ribs were totes legit. They were house-smoked and smothered in a blackjack BBQ sauce + came with sweet potato wedges and crispy fried onions. If you like meat, definitely give this dish a try! Now, if you're in the mood for something else, I highly recommend the horseradish, bacon & cheddar crusted sirloin meatloaf. It comes with roasted mushrooms and mashed potatoes, and the serving's gigantic so you'll get a good 2-3 meals out of it. The cherry on top is the free cotton candy! I never get dessert here because I'm usually stuffed so cotton candy's the perfect ending, light and sweet. If you live in the DMV area, have you tried this place? Overall yes I recommend. I was staying at the hotel so it was a perfect spot dine, given it is connected to the hotel. I sat at the bar and had a salmon dish which was not too bad but lacked a bit of flavor. The bar area and the service in the bar was great. People were very nice and there are plenty of places to sit. I sat in the restaurant and had breakfast the next morning and it also was very good as well as the service. Overall good spot and reasonable prices. Breakfast is basically free if you are staying at the hotel because they give you a $15 voucher for breakfast. Yes I recommend. The flip side is that you are, in truth, only a 9th grader - cool your jets, fellah. What are you getting at, Jason? The short answer is the food is good, with just enough flavor, flair and convenience that you can forgive the fact that it is not ever going to be Haute Cuisine (or even a wicked hipster bistro run by the shadowy 'John Snow' son of Thomas Keller...please - it is just an analogy.) This place is close enough to our job site that it has become a welcome addition to our selection of restaurants and wether it is a lunch or a working dinner, it's nice to go to a place that is NOT a Chili's or TGIFridays. My favorite dish is their horseradish, bacon and cheddar crusted sirloin meatloaf with roasted mushrooms, pan gravy and mashed potatoes. Did I mention I LOATHE meatloaf? That is how good it is. The grind of the meat blend and the fact that they fire grill it gives the main protein a satisfying tooth and it serves as a textural counterpoint to the velvety mashed potatoes (I am SURE I don't want to know how much butter or cream is incorporated). The deep and inviting pan sauce has a deft balance of salt and sweet that is heightened by the meatloaf's horseradish crust, which gives just the right amount of punch to what could otherwise be a very one-dimensional taste. The service has always been pleasant and efficient whenever we have visited and I am happy to report there is ample covered parking offered due to the adjoining hotel parking deck which is very well-lit. Are you going to find a confit duck wing lollipop with a ginger yuzu glaze, Himalayan salt and organic fingerling truffled French fries? No, but so what? What you DO get is darn good eats. Enjoyed a meal this afternoon. My husband had the Sirloin Meatloaf which I taste, it was ok. But the shrimp and lobster fettuccine was Ahmazing!! They are very generous with the shrimp and lobster and the cream sauce was so fresh. Now on to dessert OMG the chocolate chip bread pudding! We will be back! Sometimes i choose restaurants based on the appetizer menu and I saw crab brie pretzel bites and was sold. Well I went for lunch and then actually didn't even end up getting the crab brie pretzel bites as an app, but the guacamole. I wasn't disappointed though because it was fantastic! The multi colored tortilla chips were great and formidable enough for the chunkiness and creaminess of the guac. I love going to steakhouse and getting salads bc they never skimp you on the salad. I ordered the grillfire Cobb salad and it was good, however they put too much blue cheese in the salad and I could tell the corn was canned so I wasn't a huge fan of that. But Other than that everything was good. My friend got the lobster mac and cheese which also comes with avocado, crab and bread crumbs on top...so in case you worried about not filling your fat requirements for the day...order this. It looked absolutely amazing. Another friend got a sliced beef sandwich and it came with parmesan encrusted fries and those fries....so perfect.... They also have very clean bathrooms. Beef ribs and crab cakes yom Ok, the menu on the website and yelp is not updated to the menu in the restaurant. I was sort of looking forward to having beef ribs but only the boneless short rib was in the menu. We had: - small the tomato salad sans the bacon with the balsamic reduction and blue cheese dressing on the side and one crab cake (me) - grilled blackened swordfish with crabhash (coworker) - guacamole + chips (shared) The Guac was a giant bowl with fresh chips. My guess is that it had fresh plum tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, lime, red onions and yellow corn in it. It was the best out of the 3 dishes. My crab cake was so-so. The one we had at Timbuktu was yummier. And they also charged $10 of the additional 1 cake. A tad bit too steep for what was served in my mind. My coworker who enjoys eating apparently did not enjoy his swordfish. He barely ate it. They did indeed serve us with cotton candy for the table. (One shared). The hostess was kind enough to wrap our cotton candy in a plastic bag for my coworker to take it back to the hotel for his wife.. p/s don't bother try find parking in front of the restaurant just go straight to the hotel parking lot. This review is solely for brunch, as I have dined several times for dinner and absolutely loved it The brunch menu is not extensive and overpriced and poorly constructed in my opinion. Usually when a brunch option does not include a side item ,French toast for example, you can expect to get a hearty portion. NOT HERE. The vanilla french toast was made with regular size sandwich bread, I mean can we atleast get Texas toast thickness ?!?! Luckily for me I wanted to try brunch here badly so I ordered sides with my meal The home frie potatoes had the potential to be really tasty but were hard and overlooked. Eggs- not sure if these are real eggs but they weren't anything special. I've had better at ihop All of our food came out lukewarm and that was annoying because breakfast entrees don't take long to make. The omelette with crab imperial was basic, my husband enjoyed it but my husband also loves boxed Mac and cheese so that gives you an idea about his taste buds. Our bill was $69 for two adults and two children and we didn't feel like we ate a $69 type meal. Overall I will not return for brunch. There are too many excellent brunch spots to indulge such mediocracy I hope they improve because I love Grillfire and I would love to LOVE their brunch too! Service was great, once someone finally came to the table to help me. I only had a couple of sides, one of which, the roasted sweet potato wedges were absolutely amazing. They ALONE are worth a trip back. The cotton candy they brought out after my food was most definitely a bitter sweet, welcomed yet at the same time secretly rejected surprise. My mouth was happy, but I'm sure my hips were screaming! I came here to get some work done, and that I was certainly able to do. The decor was very appealing, and sitting next to the fire place most definitely added to the relaxing ambiance. Overall, I enjoyed my stop here. i went here recently with a few friends for brunch and it was slightly better than i expected. I was meeting a small group and the hostess was very helpful in seating us and making sure each member of the group knew where we were seated. The server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu, which for me is always helpful.. The only reason i did deduct one star is I feel like the drink menu during brunch could be a little more brunch appropriate. Meaning they could have offered a mimosa, a bloody mary or something along those lines.. i dont really feel like wine and eggs go well together. The food ordered was good and while everyone at the table didnt enjoy their drinks i played it safe, cant really mess up a glass of wine.. Grillfire is my standard neighborhood go-to! The service is consistent whether you are dining in or ordering take out. The menu has a little something for every taste bud. I absolutely love their brunch menu and their pizza! It's also a nice place if you are grabbing a bite alone, on date night or with family. Nice little spot away from the business of Arundel mills. It's very cozy and quite. The drinks are potent enough that you only need one if a simple buzz is all your looking for. The food has a very clean presentation. Three egged omelet for for brunch is a great pick. You can pick two items to place in your omelet. You can select a cheese, a meat or veggies. The omelet is super fluffy and comes with your choice of home fries or fresh fruit. I opt to wash my food down with a Spiked lemonade, very tasty. read more
