Honestly one of the only places you can still go to and the prices haven't soared. So for that, thank you. But no- this place has been a staple in my life since it was Leon's when I was younger. It is perfect for a meal for about $10 a person! They have lunch specials and for 8.99 I can get my chicken wrap, fries and unlimited soup bar. And the soup bar is so good! I've been going to George's on occasions for many years. Also called Leon's, the restaurant is known for its all you can eat soup bar. Everyday they have about 5 soups available to choose from. One of my favorites is their potato soup. Thick and full of chunk of potatoes. George's is a home town favorite for many because of the home style cooked meals, daily lunch and dinner specials, fair prices, and good service. A couple of my favorite meals are broasted chicken and the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. The turkey is large think pieces of white meat. This is what I had today during my visit. Yum! When I visit George's, I also like to end my meal with a bowl of rice pudding. Warmed up and topped with cinnamon and whipped cream. If you are looking for a small diner atmosphere, George's is a good place to visit. I've always been satisfied. read more

This place is awesome! Huge portions, delicious food, plenty of space for a big group. It really has family dining when you come to George's. All the staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As a dressing man they have great dressings as well the ranch and thousand Island was delicious. Overall 10 out of 10 very happy with this place highly suggest it. I got the farmers omelette and it was awesome. But the Reuben was outstanding! read more

I've been here for breakfast and lunch. The servers are always friendly and attentive. I love to get the breakfast bar on the weekends, and during the week I go for the lunch specials that include the soup bar. It's a great little diner. Only open until 2:00 pm. read more

Its been almost 20 years since I've eaten here. Back when it was still Leon's. As a long time 3rd-shifter, I've become a breakfast connoisseur. Figure I'd try this place out again, see if it's how I remembered. Got a breakfast special and a side of biscuits and gravy. All the breakfast meats were good. Eggs and hash browns were cooked well. The biscuits and gravy weren't too awesome, but I've had worse. My wife had a breakfast wrap that she said was okay. So as far as breakfast goes it's your typical diner fare. I've been to Leon's several times through the years. There are multiple locations scattered across south east Michigan. This is your standard fare family diner type place, the breakfast is good and on weekends they offer a breakfast bar. They always have lunch specials and most come with the daily all you can eat soup bar they generally offer at least four different soups. Today was minestrone, beef barley, cream of potato and chicken noodle. I really like some of their soups, others just okay. I know on Monday they have a canadian cheese which is wonderful. Today I tried the Minestrone it was decent very filling. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich, however it was off today. The meat tasted odd; not edible. I was pretty full from the soup and the hostess took it off my bill which was nice since my server didn't offer to. My son typical hot dog and fries comes with a drink and ice cream. I also got a cheeseburger to go for my teenager which also came with soup and he really seemed to enjoy it. The service just okay however our server did a okay job she was busy and did her best. The hostess was very nice like noted earlier. I think maybe today might have just been an off day and compared to other locations this one is not my favorite. I will say they are very reasonable and I would go back. read more

I was not opposed to going to Leon's for dinner with my parents because I figured I'd be able to find something that I'd like. While they do have the standard menu and you can find just about anything that you're looking for, I have to warn you that the food is very bland. I mean... there's NO FLAVOR whatsoever with their food. Even when you add salt to the food, it tastes like bland food with some salt poured on top. The average age of the person eating at Leon's would be 55 and the servers are also in that age range. It's not a place to go for a fun or upbeat environment... it's kind of like eating at a nursing home. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Leon's if I can help it. If it was a cheaper place to eat, maybe I'd make the taste sacrafice, but it was just as expensive as if I had had dinner at Applebee's. read more

Family friendly dining at a decent price. Standard coney island menu with an amazing soup bar. Almost everything you order comes with an all you can eat soup option and I highly suggest you make as many trips as you can. The stuffed pepper soup and chicken noodle is the best in town. The staff is on a first name basis with my family and is always up for a friendly conversation. read more

I've been here many of times and today was disappointing. My family of 4 all had the buffet for breakfast this morning and the food was okay and the buffet was full but not hot. My daughter is 11 and son 7 and when the bill came, we were charged for 3 adults and 1 child. When we asked the girl at the cashier what the age was for kids and her reply was she didn't know. We have never been charged adult price for her there before. Even though I didn't like and was upset with that answer because you are in charge of charging people you should know the policies. As I waited for my family to gather our thing I got to watch the cashier converse with our server and discuss our unhappiness over the bill and laugh about it. If this is the type of treatment your guest will receive at this establishment then we will no longer drive out of our way from Plymouth to go there.. ....also. It was better as Leon's! read more

My husband and I frequent this restaurant for breakfast every now and then on the weekend. The breakfast has been pretty consistent. I've ordered omelets, full breakfasts with eggs, hashbrowns, ham, sausage and bacon with toast, the breakfast wrap and pancakes. The pancakes were the only disappointment. Not fluffy; not a good texture; soaked up a lot of syrup. My husband likes the french toast and waffles. I've tasted them and they are very good. The service is always pleasant and attentive. I've never ordered the breakfast buffet, but plan to real soon. I would have given then place at least 4-stars, but I feel that the restaurant could use a make-over. The decor and atmosphere is very outdated and could be brightened up. Also, on my last visit I seen something that is a no-no. One of the waitresses was preparing toast for a carry-out order and used her bare hands to remove the toast from toaster and to butter it. She should have been wearing gloves period. She was also handling the register. I did not see her wash her hands. read more

I love Leon's. This is a great place to take old people. The service is friendly in that ancient diner kind of way. They have awesome soup, and I don't even mind that the food's bland, because this place is legit. They probably don't put salt in anything because all the patrons are WWII widows with problems with their blood pressure. I've been going to George's formerly Leon's for years. My favorite waitress is Betty she is the sweetest. As for the food it's great haven't had anything bad but I normally get breakfast. I've had just about everything from the specials to the breakfast bar to having the omelets, pancakes, French toast and the price is great especially since I'm on Disability I don't have much to spend. This is my go-to restaurant when my parents ask for Liver and Onions. I have eaten everything from breakfast to pot roast here and have never been disappointed. Waitstaff is always pleasant and the food is served the way you want it. Large portions and sides. Soup bar comes with all meals I have ordered (except breakfast). I usually get take out from here every 2 weeks. There has never been anything missing from my orders, which I usually don't check before I get home. I've been to George's 3 times now and each time I've enjoyed the soup bar and bread more than I probably should have. But it's so good, yes, even the bread, usually. Like the rice pudding. This last time it was a bit runny but still very tasty. The meals are all priced well that you can take your family there, and to me, the food tastes home cooked, too. Leon's has good grub and a soup bar for lunch and dinner. They always have a list of daily specials with a good variety taken from their regular menu and a few specials for the day. Their broasted chicken is pretty good as well. Our latest meal was a two dinner special including Breaded Pork Chops with Mashes Potatoes and Gravy along with a Vegetable, a Salad and the Soup Bar. The other meal featured Chicken Fried Steak. At the end of your meal you also get to choose from a small selection of deserts. We've always had good service and friendly staff all around. It is an older crowd, for the most part, but an all you can eat soup bar does tend to draw a certain customer, eh? Leon's is a good value and they do it well. 3 stars and I'll be back.... read more

The food here is never above average. Service is slow and lacking. I've dined in several times with my family and it always takes a long time. It isn't particularly clean- sticky menus, grimy tables, dirty silverware, etc. After the last time we decided we won't be returning. After asking for our check it took fifteen minutes for the server to bring it out. When you have 2 little ones that may as well be forever. Good food at decent prices, with a fairly large variety to choose from. Their soup bar and breakfast bar is always good. I don't know why some people here complain about the staff; they are all friendly if you take a second to talk to them as a person instead of just another waitress. Ask for Betty's section! :) The manager does a lot to support local charities & fundraisers and each Thanksgiving time they offer free dinners. read more

Me and my wife went into George's to enjoy a dinner together on Saturday 12/9/17. We sat at our favorite booth as we always have done waiting for our friends when the waiter, (Dave) came up to us and we were told we had to move from our booth out into the (window) or (banquet) room because we tend to spend a lot of time in the restaurant after our meal talking. My wife is handicapped so that's why we always choose one of the booths close to the front next to the door, and bathroom because it's much more convenient for her. At the time the restaurant was almost totally empty so it should NOT have mattered where we sat at all. Because my wife can't tolerate the cold, like out in the (window), or (banquet) room, we had no choice but to leave. We were basically refused service simply because we didn't want to sit where they wanted us to, yet they almost always tell you, ("sit wherever you like"). Such bad service, and treatment for seniors. The food is alright,the service is fair with long waits at times. Also be weary if you're handicapped because they don't tend to be too sensitive to any of your needs. So Sad, and hard to believe that they would take their customers so much for granted.
