I ended up at this Coney Island only because I was getting my car washed next door. I thought the car wash would take about 30 minutes, but they told me it'd be closer to two hours so I decided to kill some time and grab lunch here. I ordered the Gyro lunch special with lemon rice soup and a Diet Pepsi which came out to $14.71. Nothing really blew me away, but honestly, I didn't expect anything extraordinary, it's a Coney Island, after all. That said, the gyro was solid. The pita was warm and soft, and the lamb was pretty good. The lemon rice soup was what you'd expect, creamy and tangy, but I did end up adding a little pepper to give it more kick. One disappointment: they didn't have Saganaki. Maybe it's just me, but every Coney Island I've ever been to usually has it, and it's always a highlight for me. I was surprised (and kind of bummed) that it wasn't on the menu here. Service was friendly and attentive, especially since I was there for the full two hours. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but if I ever find myself getting my car cleaned next door again, I'd stop in for a bite. read more

My coworker and I ran here for salads at lunch. They were definitely overpriced. We had Greek salads with extra feta and added grilled chicken. We paid almost $40. The grilled chicken was grilled so hard that it was chewy and almost burnt. It had clearly grilled it with other food as we found pieces of beef in ours, which I don't eat. There was plenty of lettuce. The onions were very few. We won't be back as the price was not reflective of what we got. read more

Ok I'll start by saying I love this place. Everything about it besides one waitress. The oldest, most miserable lady that takes the carry out orders there NEEDS TO GO!!!! I've never dealt with a more miserable, bitchy person in my life. I don't know how this place continues to employ her. She never listens on the phone. My husband's grilled ham and cheese was good, but the ham was cold and cheese was not melted. Mediocre omelette, bad service, and to make matters worse they charge $1.69 if you want hashbrowns with your $10 omelette, and they don't tell you that it's an up charge, they simply ask if you'd like hashbrowns or grits without telling you it's an up charge. Ive been here a few times & I have never been impressed. My dad seems to Love the food! They seem to be always busy. When you walk in it seems pretty average, we seated ourself & our waitress came right over. She was nice but again not too impressed. Kinda seemed like she couldn't wait to leave. I was very disappointed they didn't have ANY healthy options.. the best thing I could find was a vegi omelette. They cook everything with butter & grease so Avoid this place if you are vegan or have food allergies they literally cant accommodate you. If you order a salad you get tons of iceburg lettuce & a few tomatoes & other things, it would seem they didn't chop the salad ether it came to the table in huge chuncks i had to chop it myself. all of their food seems very cheap, flavourless and sub-par. If you are looking for a 600+ calorie breakfast you have found your place! If you want quality food or something healthy please look elsewhere. I wont ever be back here. I have never had bad food here. I almost always get breakfast, and the omelettes are HUGE and delicious. They don't come with hash browns, and that's fine - the omelette is so big by itself the hash browns aren't necessary. My husband tends to get their Rueben Daddy sandwich. It's HUGE, and stacked with a lot of meat and cheese and sauerkraut. The only thing I don't like are their french fries, but I'm not a fan of fries anyway so that's not a big deal. The first impression of this place is that you don't want to be too big, or you will not fit in the booths, because the seats are set really close to the table. There isn't much room to easily get in and out of the seats. For the dinner selections, they have three soups. Two of which I could not eat, because I am lactose intolerant. One started off with "cream of" and the other was a cabbage soup. Cabbage has a lot of lactose in it. So, I had to choose the chicken gumbo. It had a nice spiciness to it; yet, you could still taste the chicken flavor. The wife chose their fried chicken and mashed potatoes. She felt that they were good. She regretted getting the bread that came with it though. It had been toasted on the grill with butter melted into it, and the overall flavor profile was that it seemed to be greasy. I ordered their gyro wrap with rice. The gyro was nice. The tzatzki sauce seemed to be fresh, and unlike some tzatziki sauces that I have had the sauce wasn't broken. The ingredients were all fresh. The meat was juicy. The rice was a bit confusing. It didn't come on the same plate as the gyro. It came in a bowl of its own. It was a large generous portion. The rice had a nice flavor, but it was a bit confusing as to why it, as a side dish, was presented in a portion size that was more like a main entree. Now, this next part makes me sad that this is my first time at this restaurant and I must give it 3 star. After hearing how this was the best L. George in the state I had such high expectations. But, after ordering my meal I must give this place a 3star. I have never in my life heard of an establishment that does not honor or respect an individuals food allergy needs. Was at Garden City Hospital to visit someone at stopped here to get food since it's only a mile away from the hospital. I got the lunch special which was a Gyro & Fries for $5.95. The sandwich has a good flavor but there was so much sauce and onions on it that I had to dump half of it off in order to eat it. This place is pretty good whether you eat in or get a carry out..I usually get the southern omelette which is huge and usually have left over to eat later or next day.. My son always gets the chicken fettuccine alfredo and the portion is huge however sometimes it is good and sometimes it is watery and not very good..that is hit and miss.. I used to work here. Not a great place! i was fired because I was told I give to many refills to the customers and pour to many coffee refills. Are you kidding me!!!
