Its been 2 years since I have been back. "My 2026 review." Greeted and seated. Ordered Steak Entree, Gyro, Wings and fries. No complaints, as usual the food was delicious. Some of the healthiest food you can eat. I just found out today that they have a bottomless mimosa special with an all you can eat buffet. Even though I did not eat from the buffet, I scoped out the foods being served. It was absolutely delightful to see the assorted of Greek food that was being presented. Im definitely going to get the all you can eat buffet next time. Overall, great ambiance. Kudos to Brea our waitress. She did a good job! First time going into any GGC and I was surprised...I always thought it was a quick to-go spot, but instead walked into a full on restaurant that was packed and buzzing with live music. I sat at the bar ordering to-go. The bartender and waiter was helpful with my order. They had some stuff in the happy hour menu I ordered like one of the garlic dipping sauces and the 2 piece lamb chops. Sauce was worth it, but I thought the lamb chops weren't worth--they were bite size or like for a kid haha. The plate I ordered was good though. It came with a lot of pita bread and came with a yogurt dip. Food overall was flavorful. I would come back to eat in the restaurant for the vibe. read more

We visited Georges's Greek Cafe for the Father's Day brunch. The Greek brunch food and drinks (ooo...the coffee) was delicious. and they have the option to have appetizers made to order. The flow of the food refills was off and we had to wait for certain popular items like pita. The restaurant was clean, and we were acknowledged right away upon arrival. I would recommend making reservations or you will end up sitting in the bar area. The highlight of our meal was Brandon the bartender. He was making drinks, bussing tables, running food and taking orders with the best attitude. His work ethic and positive energy was refreshing. Give him a raise! read more

I haven't been here in a while. It was quite busy Mother's Day weekend. They had a live band. It was very loud. Luckily we sat in the patio areas. I should have took more pictures but I ate it all and forgot to take the picture. Surprisingly the chicken kabob wasn't salty it was the perfect marinate along with the lentil soup. A few of out top favorites are: Lamb Kleftico, slow roasted for very tender, fragrant and tasty meat with a distinctive lamb flavor and a few morsels of crusty edges. Usually a Friday special, but also can be found on their Sunday Brunch Buffet Wonderful, fluffy and crisp Falafel...nice with their Cucumber & Yogurt Tsatsiki dip and the fresh lemony and garlicy Hummus. Order the Falafel freshly made, as the steam pans on the buffet make them soggy. Mousakah is delightful: something akin to lasagne, but the Greek version has Eggplant, Ground Beef or Lamb seasoned with a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice and is topped with a light fluffy bechamel cream topping. It's a real winner ! Baklava here is more substantial than most others: chock full of nuts, very flaky Filo dough layers, a light honey syrup and just a little dusting of powdered sugar. Enough to share, bur don't ! Sunday Brunch Buffet 10am - 3pm has a lot of variety, includes endless Mimosas or cofee, tea, punch, and soft drinks. We had such a nice visit to George's Greek Café in Lakewood! The entire vibe is warm, nice, and inviting, with upbeat background music that still lets you actually hold a conversation. The space is open and well laid out, and they were accommodating with accessibility requests as well. Much to our surprise, this was one of the few places that had a Lunch time Happy Hour menu as an added bonus. We ordered the gyros and a martini, both were delicious. What truly set the visit apart was the hospitality. Our waiter had a phenomenal memory and provided flawless service, and the owner even came out to our table to thank us for coming in. They were so genuinely friendly and enthusiastic and we truly appreciated our visit and will definitely be back In the future. read more

Food was pretty good. all very well seasoned, I preferred the chicken over the salmon although both were delicious. Enjoyed dinner here today for the 2nd time this month. Both times the food and the experience was very nice. Today the combo appetizer was perfect. Tasty and filling for two people at $22 . I had the grilled salmon combo, and as a hungry person right after the gym, it was pretty filling. I also enjoyed the restaurant's ambiance, with a live band, and the professionalism of the servers. I also got to meet the shop owner, and he was such a kind man. The food was also good. The salmon was a good portion and had a great flavor. The rice was also a standout on the plate. Another place that has sadly gone down hill... It feels like they just don't care anymore. The tables are all sticky, we had to move tables 3 times before we found one that wasn't dirty. The forks were bent, it gave me old diner vibes FOOD* We got the Lamb Chops dinner platter. The Lamb Chops weren't bad, I'd give them a 6/10. But everything else was like high school cafeteria food. The veggies had to be from a cheap frozen block that was just thawed out and served with no seasoning. Soggy mushy broccoli mixed with other very low quality vegetables. The French fries were soggy/cold and had zero flavor, topped with the cheapest feta cheese I've ever had, which they charge an extra $2 for The salad was wilted, the Pita was cold. I don't even think this place is trying anymore. It's sad, and they still have the audacity to raise the prices while decreasing the quality tremendously. SERVICE* They were nice, but nothing more. Tried to up sell, I don't like that personally, but I'm not mad at them for trying. They never refilled our waters. Great Greek Grub! GGG George's Greek Cafe has a reputation to uphold. They lived up to that expectation! :) Most people have heard of George's Greek Cafe. At least you have if you are a fan of Mediterranean food. I am a big fan of Mediterranean food. I love the fresh hummus and perfectly fried falafels. One thing I really enjoy about Mediterranean food is that it is very healthy. You get different foods that are good for you and still taste great! The Greek salads are yummy and healthy. George's Greek Café served up some delicious grub. I loved the feta fries! Those were so tasty. I ordered the stuffed salmon plate, and it did not disappoint. The stuffed salmon was satisfying and my taste buds enjoyed it. That plate is 10/10 and I can see why it is rated highly on Yelp. Thank you to fellow Yelpers for the tip there! The hummus and pita bread were great. The pita was freshly baked, and the hummus had good flavor. The hummus and pita bread deserve that 10/10 rating. I went with my husband, my friend, and her husband, and we all enjoyed the food very much. The ambiance was laid back and pretty quiet. Saw a Facebook ad for 1/2 off whiskey drinks on Wednesday. So we came in. Service was great for us, but again we are not in a rush. Ordered the onion rings and dolmathes. The dolmathes were so good. I had the chicken kabobs entire. Wife had the gyro & son had the shrimp pasta. Chicken was well seasoned with fries and rice. Oh the rice was so nice. We all enjoyed our meals with some leftovers for tomorrow. Drinks were good as I had the watermelon margarita, & after two someone else is driving home. We have always had a good meal here, but noticed that they have put a lot of effort into promoting the happy hour/ appetizers experience. We love the traditional Greek appetizers, though they now also offer items like fried cauliflower, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. We were very hungry this evening so ordered the combination appetizer platter to share as well as another dinner item each. They have drink specials, beer and wine but we declined those. The appetizer plate offers a great selection of items, each very different and satisfying. Along with the pita bread and typical hummus and tzatziki dip sauces they had a "tomato soup" which was actually perfect for the calamari! This amount of food was enough to fill the two of us but we each ate a portion of our main dishes as well, and took the rest home for later - small Greek salad with shrimp skewers and Gyro sandwich with Greek salad side. The service was, as always, friendly, helpful and efficient. Our food came out quickly, looked beautiful and was delicious. The restaurant had a fair amount of business. This location is near the Lakewood mall and other restaurants so there is plenty of parking. Their Sunday brunch is back; it was really delectable when we tried it a few years ago; we are looking forward to trying it again! Ok lots to be said !! First off , of course the food . I have drove. By this place for many years and never went in . Why !!!? Ugh . Ok so needless to say I'm making up for lost time . Yum ! Every time we do we are never disappointed. From appetizers to main to happy hour . Happy hour is so amazing and generously portioned . Went on a busy Friday night, but we were able to get a table right away. When we entered there was a very mediocre and loud karaoke singer and when asked if we wanted to be away from the music we chose to be as far away as possible. It didn't really make much difference we could still hear it and it really made it difficult to talk. Our waiter approached right away and was nice enough. We ordered our food and an appetizer which all came out very quickly. It's almost as if it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting for someone to claim it. It tasted fine but was barely warm and it definitely was not fresh. After we were done we waited for a while for our server to come by, but he was nowhere to be found. Once he did appear, he approached the tables on either side of us and then walked right past us without even looking at us. I had to flag him down to get our check. Probably won't be back. read more

Happy hour at George's Greek! It's Thursday so beer and vodka drinks are 1/2 off all day. Great appetizers for $5 each. I had Gyro Falafel, stuffed grape leaves and Spanakopita. The Hubbie had Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings, lamb chops and spinach poppers. i just ordered baklava for desert. we got out of here for less than $50. The service was quick and friendly. And it is, just another eatery but not a Greek restaurant if you crave for Greek food just skip it. Good prices Good servers, clean place. The location was not terribly busy and we were seated in a fair amount of time however we were unsure of who our server was . We attempted to ask several people but was redirected. One person in our party was assisted with there order ( we think it was because he was older ) there was 20 of us but again it wasn't busy . By the time we ordered ( still no water provided) we were all irritated and frustrated. We then waited for our entres and asked the waitress if there were any bread , chips or appetizers available while we wait since it was so long. She rudely replied no we don't offer that here that an Italian restaurant, also not without paying. Not sure why we were treated this way . Went there for my first time yesterday. Their lemon drop martinis were absolutely great. The services sucked. The bartender BritI took our food order n drinks. When I ordered my third martini I was told the bartender has cut us off from ordering our third Martini. I was appalled I was not causing a scene or getting out of control. I have never ever been cut off from drinks ever. I am a 70 yr old n definitely know how to handle myself in public n the I know the limit of my drinks. This place has a new owner n he needs to know that this kind of unnecessary action will keep customers away from his establishment if they do this to their customers often. Update to my last Sunday brunch review. Still delicious. Still rocking the bottomless champagne/mimosas. Parker still providing exceptional service and omelettes made to order. Here are some insider tips for those that may not know... If you need gluten free options, they have them. They will also work with you if you provide some guidance. Not everyone knows everything about eating GF, but they will do everything they can to reasonably accommodate your needs. If you don't see a traditional menu item at brunch, please ask. With very few exceptions, they will provide you a serving size of many of their classic menu items (at no additional cost) even if you don't see it in the brunch trays. For me, I request a portion of the Pastitso. The wife likes to get a cup of Avgolemono. As long-time guests, we want this restaurant to thrive for many decades to come. We've spoken to the owner on many occasions and know he is passionate about serving his guests the best food with the best service possible. If you have an issue, please please please tell someone while you are there. Let them make it right. They will do what they can. *Keyboard warriors after the fact serve no purpose. You're not making the business better for anyone by simply complaining. Take some responsibility in real life to make your experience better. The Gyro meat is not the same as it was on Atlantic Street in Long Beach. I knew the owner and he bought the meat from Chicago, the meat is not the same. If the new owners would buy from the same Giro meat supplier, this place would be a five star. read more

George's Greek Cafe has been my favorite Greek restaurant for the last 15+ years. In fact, we dine here every New Year's Eve. My go-to is the dolmathes plate. The dolmathes have a perfect blend of spices and come with rice, pita, and steamed veggies. Everything has great flavor. One thing I love is they have a breakfast buffet on Sundays that offer a good variety of Greek food. The service here is always great and there's nice paintings on the walls. It's fun coming here reminiscing on our time in Greece. They also have a bar with really good drinks. Went here to eat with my mother. I ordered Swordfish and French Fries. Swordfish was fair, a little on the dry side. Fries were fine. Washroom was clean and had paper towels... good. I have a bone to pick with the personal appearance of the male employees. All or nearly all guys who work at this location wore their t shirts untucked.I consider that to be unprofessional on the part of the employees. I am deducting one point for the untucked shirts. Also deducting one point for the dry swordfish. If I was to assign a letter grade like is done in school this establishment would be in there solid with a C. read more

My family had been eating here for 20 years and it seems like they've changed ownership. Our gyro meat was dry, and didnt taste fresh; the trader joes version is better. They added things like Greek Pico salsa to the menu? That's literally not a thing. Our meal wasn't good at all, which makes me sad this had been my go to place forever.
