I stopped by Lazy Dog on the second day of my LA business trip while I was in between checking out of my hotel and waiting for our Airbnb to be ready. It ended up being a really nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. I tried the Bacon Candy, which was probably the most memorable item. The bacon was sweet, slightly spicy, and nicely caramelized from the brown sugar. I had never really had bacon served this way before, so I thought it was very creative and surprisingly addictive. I also ordered the Chuckwagon Flat Iron Steak, and it was excellent. The steak was flavorful and nicely grilled, and the smoked chili butter and crispy onion straws made it even better. There's also a Lazy Dog near where I live, so this wasn't my first time dining with them. What impressed me was how consistent the quality was. Even while traveling, the food and overall experience were just as good as what I'm used to back home. Lazy Dog has always been very consistent for me, and this visit was another good example of that. Comfortable atmosphere, good service, and really solid food. I rarely dine out nowadays, but I was at the Cerritos mall looking for some lunch options and settled on Lazy Dog because of their menu. I have a strict diet to limit carbs, and they had some items on their menu that worked for my diet. I got the chicken schwarma salad, and it was flavorful and healthy. It was a good portion size as well. My partner got the fish and chips, and it came out very hot and freshly fried. Our server was attentive and always checked on us. He saw us pouring the water carafe into our water bottles and offered to fill up our water bottle. This is a great lunch spot at the mall, and I'd totally come back. read more

Excellent restaurant at the Los Cerritos mall. BTW. This a beautiful mall, so if you want to shop, walk around for exercise and eat at the mall, I recommend the Lazy Dog. Saw online they were having a paws on the patio so booked a reservation to bring my little baby. After checking in at front desk we were given a dog treat for my dog along with a card for a complimentary meal for her :) There was plenty of open seats on the patio and picked were we wanted to sit. We were able to make a reservation on Open Table even though they were very busy when we arrived. It is at the Cerritos Mall, so there is a big parking lot. But it can be very busy trying to find a spot depending on what time you go! The dining room was very busy. There were TVs on at that bar for anyone trying to watch a game. Service was friendly. Their menu was huge! There really is something for everyone. The kid's meal was also very reasonable priced for how much food they got. All of the dishes that the family ordered were really good. This was my first time here, and the main reason I decided to visit was because I wanted to bring my dog along for dinner. I had heard so many great things about this place, so I finally gave it a try. I really loved the patio and the fact that they have a dog-friendly menu--such a cute touch! The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was great. My only disappointment was that the patio has a posted rule stating that barking or aggressive dogs are not allowed, yet a couple nearby had two small dogs that barked loudly at every dog that walked by. It made the experience uncomfortable, and unfortunately, nothing was done about it. It doesn't seem fair to guests who bring well-behaved dogs and follow the rules. On a positive note, the manager was very welcoming and even gave us a free appetizer card since it was our first visit, which was a thoughtful gesture. I met my girlfriends for happy hour and chisme. Love love HH at Lazydog ... We are in love with the feta honey dip and the lemon pepper tater tots. Can't ever get enough of that toasted pieces of bread and dip, so salty but so delicious. This time I tried the chicken masala meatballs and the cucumber salad. Cucumber salad is for sure a new fave. I recently had lunch here with a good friend and set out on the patio this time. I really enjoyed the patio area except the nuisance of the flies. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. Just as a note for anyone who's not familiar with the area, the restaurant is located at the Cerritos mall, but can be accessed from the outside. Parking can be challenging, but eventually, you will find one. We had a very friendly server but she failed to tell us about the lunch specials. My friend was familiar with them so we were able to find the specials. The lunch special was a lunch entrée with a dessert for approximately $15. The portions are great, and the dessert was delicious! We ordered an appetizer, a mocktail and a cocktail and all were great! Surprisingly, I was really disappointed with my entrée. I ordered the fried chicken and ended up taking it home but just to toss it. The fried chicken was cold, soggy, and just terribly made. It had no flavor at all. I've had a few different dishes from here and it's the first time I've experienced a bad dish. Lesson learned for me! For starters, Lazy Dog has been my go-to spot for almost a decade. I love their food, service and prices. I've had every burger on the menu and genuinely enjoy them all. I rarely have to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table, and have never waited more than 30. The ambiance is great, I love the aesthetic of the restaurant, bar and patio. Their beers are great, I recommend the sunspanked Red, it's one of my favorites. We came out last week to celebrate my sister's birthday, we quietly told our waiter we were celebrating her with a wink. Our server was friendly and attentive. The first thing that caught my eye however were the menus- they were dirty. They were splattered with old crusty food, grimey and generally kind of gross to look at and feel. This really surprised me, my experience over the years has always been great. They brought out a birthday cupcake for my sister, no fanfare and singing which we all appreciated, she wouldn't like the attention. When we got the bill there was a charge on there for a birthday dessert- also surprising because generally these birthday desserts are free for the birthday. All in all, we still enjoyed our time and I will be back with the hopes of finding clean menus and the same service I'm accustomed to. read more

Went here on a Thursday. I usually pass this place up but since there was a Laker game I decided to go inside and sit by some LCD screens @ bar side. It was happy hour. I ordered some draft beers along with some cocktails. Wasn't that crowded, so we were getting our drinks fast. Ordered some cucumber appetizers, chicken wings and Loco Moco fried rice. All was deliciously served with no wait time. Our waiter was prompt and the service being delivered was great. Definitely no complaints on my visit. I wished I would of documented our waiters name. Stopped By Lazy Dog on Sunday 9/20 for lunch with my husband ! Walked in and the hostess was rude so that wasn't a good start to our afternoon here. When we got seated our waiter was quick to come by the table and begin service. I didn't catch her name but she was very sweet and made the experience all the more better. I honestly come here for one reason and one reason only happy hour. They have me in a chokehold. The happy hour drinks are hard to beat, and the food prices are good. So yes... I'm here for the deal. That being said, quality control is definitely on a lunch break sometimes. The silverware is a gamble. Will it be clean? Will there be dried food chunks? It's like a tiny surprise every visit. I've also had shots with mystery floaties, sometimes what looks like pepper, sometimes Tajín hanging out somewhere on the glass or floating in the drink. Do I still drink it..? unfortunately, yes. Should I have to? Probably not. I'd at least like the illusion that everything got a thorough wash before making its way to my table. My biggest pet peeve, though, is the little tubs the hummus comes in. They're almost always chipped, and underneath the white coating it looks... rusty? I don't know if it actually is, but it definitely doesn't inspire confidence. At some point those should probably retire with dignity instead of continuing to serve hummus. The last few times I've sat in the bar seating area, there have also been bar gnats flying around. They're basically unpaid restaurant employees at this point, but I'd rather not spend my meal swatting them away. The food itself is... fine. The chicken bites are inconsistent. Sometimes they're huge pieces, sometimes they're tiny little nuggets, but somehow it all evens out. One visit, our bread came out looking like it had lost a fight with a volcano. I asked about it, and they said that's how it's made. Thankfully, our server offered to bring out another order of bread, and the replacement was much better actually charred instead of cremated (see the picture). Huge credit to the server for handling it well and trying to make things right. If the first batch was actually considered acceptable, though... Idk about all of that. Overall: Food: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Happy hour pricing: 4.5/5 (the real MVP) Service: Usually really good. I've only had one server who dropped the ball, but it wasn't enough for me to care. I just got back and ordered a mid rare steak which was actually mid rare (so many places mess this up somehow ). Came with a scalloped potato/baked potato sort of hybrid and sautéed veggies. Everything was going great... until it wasn't. Jennifer was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing -- super polite, attentive, and not a gatekeeper at all lol. I even complimented her lipstick and she didn't hesitate to tell me what brand it was. Love that. She brought out our drinks and I got the cucumber lemon sparkling refresher, which was the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. We also ordered the Cajun fries, which were delicious (a little sweet too, which I was actually living for), and the Korean fried chicken bao buns, which were really good. Now here's where things started going downhill... I went to the restroom and 2 out of the 3 stalls didn't have toilet paper. I'm not sure about the third since it was occupied, but 2/3 being out is already not a great sign. When our food came out (all at once, which I appreciated), I started taking pictures for Yelp. After I finished, I noticed a fly on my plate -- just sitting there in one corner, not moving much no matter how I tried to shoo it away. (In my pictures it literally looks like a black sesame seed because of portrait mode blur, but I swear it was a fly -- I have witnesses ) I let Jennifer know, and she handled it really well. She was very apologetic, took the plate back, and the manager came out with a new dish on the house, which I appreciated. After comparing both plates, I also realized the first dish was missing the baby corn, which is actually pretty noticeable when you look at the two side by side. The rest of the evening went smoothly, and overall the food had a nice mix of sweet and spicy. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals too. However... later that night, I had really bad stomach pains and was running back and forth between my bed and the restroom. I only had two meals that day, and this was the only new one, so I'm pretty sure it came from here. The only chain restaurant I frequent regularly. Service really depends on what time you go in. I've had great service to not so good. But, I don't come here for the service. Can't beat their Happy Hour Menu. Great food options at a great price. Weekdays 3-6pm. Sunday-Thursday 9pm to close. I always order the Brussels Sprouts. Really like their hamburger and chicken lettuce wraps. Recently just had their Tikka Marsala Meatballs, delicious. I also really like their brunch menu. Went here for the first time and will be going again! So went on a Friday night and it's pretty busy will say, not a problem just expect a lively restaurant. Even despite that, the service and staff were great! Always very attentive and nice and informative about any all questions we had. There is a lot on their menu and they have lots of drinks to try also,an all that we tried was great! The food was so good! They brought out some potato chips which don't be fooled, these were the best potato chips I've ever had. I'm not sure what the seasoning was to be real with you but it was delicious and fresh. So highly recommend trying those! The burger I had got was also delicious and the fries were cooked to perfection! Have never been here before and want to try so much other things on their menu! Coco was our server and she was INCREDIBLY attentive and consistently checked in on us--super quick on refills and any other requests. Only negative was the Womens' bathroom stalls. Majority of the menu had American cuisine with a few other ethnic dishes sprinkled into the menu. We were seated after 15 minutes of waiting, so the wait wasn't too long. I thought the food quality was mediocre. The ribs were dry, not fall off the bone. The fried chicken was bland and didn't have much flavor. The ribeye bibimbap was missing the gochujang sauce, which is a must have for me. The highlight of the meal was the crispy deviled eggs which was an appetizer. The salads were pretty tasty too. Service: It was pretty empty which I was okay with. I can't remember my servers name ugh and I'm so mad because she was amazing !! It was great chit chat and never felt rushed while I was trying to figure out what I wanted. Food: I ended up getting the country chicken & biscuit. Personally I loved it. The chicken was not dry at all. The whole dish had great flavor. My favorite part? The Cajun gravy and spicy maple syrup. They also have 4 different sauces on your table.
