I went to Dr Davis after having a problem of persistent severe pain that would get worse and moderate and occasionally have swelling that lasted for well over a year and had given up on resolution after three dentists, one after the other who could find nothing wrong and who each insisted that ther ewas nothing wrong. I went to a University Dental School and consulted with an Oral Surgeon and a Rd that was a Oral medical Dr specialist. Still no diagnosis. After so many visits and everyone treating me as crazy, I gave up. Finally months later, I was again in so much pain I was at work and asked a colleague if he knew anyone that I could see that might be god and he gave me Dr Davises name. I looked it up and found his number and planned to call him but got called out of town for work so went to a Dr in France who was a Stomatologie. He could find nothing but put me on Antibodys. When I got back to USA, I could not remember the name I had been given and in so much pain I decided to try a regular Dr. He thought that I had a sinus infection, but could not be sure, and gave me antibios. He gave me a referral to a Dentist. He suggested a Dr. Davis too. I got the number and discovered it was the same one. Big hopes again and made appointment. I went to see him but it was after my symptoms had gone down and there was no swelling and not much pain. He started late because he was finishing a surgery and had another emergency the assistant told me. I was called back twenty one minutes late. He comes in and shakes my hand and asked how he can help. He writes everything with detail and askes all about my medical past and medications. I am feeling hopeful but just becasue he seems to care and askes all right questions and is taking lots of time for me. He then examines me and pretty quick says he thinks he knows what is wrong. he does things no one has done: he "probes" my gums and reads out numbers to his assistant and then uses a machine that requires me to hold a clip. He taps and then examines under my neck, all very gentle, all teh while talking to me and speaking a few words in Spanish and I think Brazilian (?) and then another language and seems very confident that he knows what is wrong but says he needs to see a picture of the tooth first. The assistant gets a picture and he waits and as soon as it is done on computer, he says yes that he knows what is wrong. I had a " massive absess" and that "it likely has been there for quite some time." I feels such relief that he doesn't think I am crazy and that after almost two years of near endless suffering he can say what is wrong and shows me and explains everything "so you really understand and are not just told what is wrong" The moler had a fracture and a big big area that was very dark absess over the roots The tooth cannot be saved, but he gives me all the possibilities, with lots of detailed expaination, writes each one down, offers that I get a second opinion. IT WAS EXTREME THOROUGH VISIT like a real doctor. I did get another opinion from an oral surgeon and came back because I felt a faith and comfort in him I never felt in another. I had him takeout the tooth and do a bony graft with cadaver and after he made a big consent and I read and signed pages of consent he did the work. There was no pain and he asked me to call him that night. I did and told him I had no pain. Four months later he put in an implant and that was really really easy (but really expensive). He is almost ready to put a crown on the implant post. I am free of pain since the day the tooth was removed. I am happy with his care. His office is not very nice but the people are nice and everything is clean and always comes out of sterel bags. When he does surgery everything is covered and he is always reminding the assistant what to not tuoch and to change your gloves. He is crazy about everything being just so perfect and he jokes a lot with everybody. Even his other Dr. was concerned about me and how I was doing. Dr Sinclair Davis has been saving/ fixing my teeth since 2008. Dr Davis is always focused on my care, however, he always inquires about my family and is engaging at the start. That said, I HATE dentist visits! As do my two daughters! My two teenaged daughters have switched from their long-time dentist in Bethesda and now visit Dr. Davis regularly. They say he makes them feel very at-ease in the chair he has worked on their teeth Dr. Davis is always very professional and does his utmost to make the experience as comfortable as possible. I never feel any discomfort during any of his treatments. His staff are also of the same caliber and very easy-going. I recently had a piece of tooth chip off - Dr. D was able to see me the next day and fit me with the temporary crown very quickly and pain-free!! The permanent crown took all of 10 minutes about 2 weeks later. I was a bit late getting there for the setting, but he stayed after closing time to accommodate me. The office is small but there is always parking and its easy to get to. The size also means there is almost never a wait and appointments are easy to set up. AVOID!!!! DANGER!!! OVERTREATMENT!!! I saw blood on the dental unit and doors! Doctor Davis does not disinfect x rays appliances. The lead apron is never cleaned. Doctor Davis routinely over treats patients and proposes an enormous amount of expensive treatments, including multiple tooth extractions, tooth implants, and root canals. Doctor Davis routinely "finds" cavities in patients and falsely makes them as extra "meticulous" work! Please do not believe him, go get second opinion. He will lie to you that he tries to preserve tooth structure. He lied to me that I have cracks on my teeth and forced me to get implants. While most patients trust Doctor Davis, some patients have taken the initiative to get a second opinion, only to return and confront Doctor Davis when other dentists cannot find the numerous cavities that he claims to discover. I have rarely met a professional who is so giving of his time, caring about getting the job absolutely right, as well as being so informative as Dr Sinclair Davis. Dr Sinclair strongly believes in letting patients have all the information possible, even some things that might be anxiety producing, because he wants the patient to know all the upsides as well as risks of every procedure so the patient can make up his or her mind. I see where another patient was alarmed by something Dr Sinclair told him re risks of a procedure, Of course I respect another person's viewpoint, at the same time for myself, I appreciated knowing that this was a dentist who was not going to just smile and tell me what he thought I wanted to hear, or try to get the prcoedure done as fast as he could, but was really frank with me. So above all he is a dentist I can trust. I would recommend him without hesittation to anyone because he is skilled and you can trust him. read more

Dr Davis is a perfectionist, which is exactly what you want from a dentist. He is thorough, patient, and gentle. He is conservative, but will do everything he can (slow down the drill, take a break, oral anesthetic) to prevent you from feeling unnecessary pain. I was scared to have dental work through both of my pregnancies, but he was the perfect partner to ensure that I felt safe in those moments. He performed my dental implant surgery, and I could not have imagined a better outcome. He is transparent with any risks, and is genuinely invested in giving his patients the best experience possible. I've always hated 'the dentist'.... but not this one. He is not only interested in keeping my mouth healthy and my smile bright, but also my general wellbeing. My husband and 2 year old son see him too! read more

I am from a family of doctors and dentists and he was by far the best doctor that i have encounter. I dont believe the other reviews a all. The supporting staff - Susan was able to acomodate me on the same day when i called to have a very painful wisdow tooth taken out and was always kind and mindful that i was in pain and could not talk much. Not only i was very well taken care by Dr. Sinclair with a sucessful extraction of the tooth, later he was interested enough to make sure i would call later to let him know how I was feeling by the end of the day. Excellence and beyond! The highly proficient Dr. Davis is a perfectionist who treats each patient the way he would want to be treated. His work is simply superior. Why else would I have my mother and my son switch dentists? He takes the time to explain treatment options, procedures, etc. He also makes an effort to treat the whole patient: Several times he pointed out and discussed unrelated medical issues and provided referrals; he was right on target. Also great on follow up. Plus he has perfect pitch and is multilingual! The rest of the staff is professional and friendly. Excellent treatment at reasonable prices. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DR. DAVIS. HE IS THE WORST DENTIST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. HE DOES not wear a face mask and does not cover his cleaning tools properly. He also said "I'm surprised you didn't complain of pain more, because in order to be thorough its is painfull sometimes". He then said the polishing is the most painfull thin he does!!!!!!!! Dr. Davis has been my dentist for several years. I consider him the best dentist I have ever had. He has done a wide range of work on me, including crowns, amalgams, and a root canal. He has set very high standards for his dental work and has consistently met them. In fact, he is a perfectionist. He is unbelievably conscientious, thorough, and, to my mind, extremely knowledgeable. When I needed to have crowns placed on all of my upper teeth, Dr. Davis did an outstanding job, with a minimum of fuss.
