My sister and I had done extensive research on the rehabilitation for her care and decided that is where we wanted her to go for rehab. The admissions person Damon was very helpful in getting us a bed. He kept in constant contact with us and the hospital to follow up on my mom's hospital release date to help make it a smooth transition, and on Ingleside's end it was a smooth transition. After my mom was situated at Ingleside she constantly complained about stomach issues and nausea. The nursing staff followed up with their normal intake procedure but did not ignore my mom's medical concerns. They took extra care and time with her to make sure she would be ok and that she wasn't just experiencing a change of location issue. They discovered that she had a high fever and her pressure had dropped dramatically since she arrived and she began to vomit. The staff immediately contacted the WHC and my moms doctors to let them know she was still too ill to have been released and needed care immediately. Their professionalism and care saved my mothers life. I can not thank them enough for all that they have done. A year later my mom is doing extremely well. Had it not been for this facility it may have gone a different way.

The staff are attentive and caring and he still has more autonomy than he would in many other places. He did NOT want to go to a nursing home despite his increasing frailty . He requires assistance with all ADLs and medications. He is always well groomed, clean and in good spirits. All the staff address him by name and treat him with great respect and affection. His speech is difficult to understand because of strokes but they are uniformly patient and helpful. Three mornings a week we are together but I do stop in at other times and he is ALWAYS well cared for. Here is an opportunity for socialization that he didn't have at his independent facility in NJ. Meals are in the dining room; many different daily activities. He and I could not be happier with Grand Oaks And we feel that the VALUE is excellent. They serve as a middle man but offer no value in the process. They also seem to lie about potential costs. We talked about 4 potential places and I am pretty sure they sent my info to ALL assisted living facilities in a 50 mile radius. This is disgusting.

Both ladies were extremely competent, experienced, courteous, caring, and patient. My telephone interactions with the organization's management personnel and the workers' supervisor were also excellent. They were professional, courteous and readily available. I will gladly use Visiting Angels in the future, should the need arise.

They are clearly understaffed, and this has made it difficult for even the best workers to deliver appropriate levels of care consistently. It seems as if this once sought-after facility set itself up for failure. Families and, sadly, the vulnerable residents are paying the price daily. At this time, I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

There are musical performances and other cultural and healthful activities. It's difficult for anyone to adjust to a new environment, and even more so for an elderly person with dementia. The Kensington Park staff do their best to welcome and acclimate new residents - which, with the added problem of Covid, is a challenge. They are kind and attentive, dealing with irritability and other behaviors with grace and patience. The management is very open to communication from family members and every issue is addressed. Visits from family members are easily scheduled. It's a good place.

The supervisor's recommendation was no visitors other than once a week from each daughter, as per my friend. My friend is 97 yeaars old. The elderly NEED verbal stimulation, not isolation. My friend, the elderly lady, does not like this place and has expressed it in no uncertain terms. My experience with ideas like this ends in the life of the elderly person in less than 8 weeks. My friend (the daughter) has placed her mother in a prison because caing for her mother is an inconvenience.

After hiring a consultant who was familiar with many of the options available to us in the Northern Virginia area they compiled a list. After reviewing the list, we started at the very top. Tysons Woods was at the top of the list. We called and scheduled a tour of your location on Central Avenue. Upon entering the location, all of your employees we encountered were very friendly and knowledgeable of the potential needs my wife may require after a brief history was shared. One tip we were given by our consultant was to be aware of any smells when we visited the home. Smells of uncleanliness or cleaning products used to cover bad smells were a warning sign. To our pleasant surprise, we did not find any objectionable smells, no smells of cleaning products, just the smell of fresh cooking food on the stove preparing for lunch. The home looked impeccably clean and neat. When meeting some of the other residents, they looked just as neat. They were clean, dressed in clean clothes, and enjoying their day in the living room. They were cooking lunch and the place smelled wonderful. No boxes or frozen meals here, just good home cooking. We decided to place her in your care and we are very happy with our decision. She was very well cared for. She was always dressed in clean clothes, her undergarments were clean and dry. She really enjoyed the food at your place. We never questioned her safety while at your facility. We rested well knowing that you all were taking care of her. You would be doing a disservice to your loved one if you did not go and check out Tysons Woods as a possibility.

We love this facility. It is an assisted living in a "home" setting with a total of 8 residence. It was a very clean family atmosphere. Our mom was closely watched over and cared for by the most professional ,dedicated and loving staff. We are very grateful for the loving care given to our Mom.
