It's all good the burgers the appetizers the staff is always good and friendly crowds

Everyone's heard the verbiage "eat like a local" well I did just that after arriving at Jim's Place. This self proclaimed "New York Pizza in the Country" says it all and was something unexpected, yeah I read the reviews but walking in from the front porch through the antique over-size door was quite the experience. The staff here is focused on customer service and getting the food to the table, so some of the good house keeping practices may take a backseat. Depending on the time of the day you may be seated at a table that hasn't exactly been cleared from the previous customer yet or you can just walk in and pick your spot, we chose to grab a table without asking and it seemed no one had a problem with it. I recommend you come here when there isn't anything pressing in your schedule because this place operates on its own clock and that's just fine with me it's nice to be a little laid back at times - the food is prepared fresh to order so the clock doesn't start ticking until you place your order and that's the focus FIFO (first in first out) so it's relatively easy to know when your orders is coming out of the kitchen if you're paying attention. Pizzas are medium and large or by the slice, and I definitely recommend it - thin crust, delicious sauce, really nice stretchy mozzarella cheese, lots of pepperoni and ground sausage simply delicious no matter the toppings you choose I'm sure. The menu contains lots of options, we also enjoyed a toasted Philly Cheese Steak Sub as well, now that will make you smile too. The staff here is very friendly and as accommodating as possible, the steady flow of customers kept them hopping so practice some patience they are by no means over-staffed here which probably is why their prices are so reasonable. This place is a real diamond in the rough but such a nostalgic experience and no doubt a local favorite...

Hidden gem . We will definitely be back when driving thru this way. Stopped here for a Saturday lunch. I got the club sandwich and he got the cheese calzone. He is super picky with any type of pizza. His first bite he said "wow". My club sandwich bread was toasted to perfection and cheese melted just right. Service was fine. Love the old feel of the general store type of building. Can't remember last time I paid $23 for 2 entree and had huge to go boxes and LOVED the meal. Fantastic

    Ham and Sausage Calzone!!

Excellent food. Service was good. No issues. Had the calzone and it was huge and delicious. Crust was perfect and the mozzarella cheese was seriously delicious. Everything that we saw coming from the kitchen looked wonderful.

Just a small town café good food good service, reminds me of calzone I used to get in Tennessee just outside of Militon

Stopped here on a whim as we were passing by. This is definitely a good place to stop for some traditional American food. I had the antipasto salad. It was simple, but good. My husband got a burger with jalapeños and cheese. He loved it! My mom got a mushroom burger and said she really enjoyed it. The onion rings were thick and cooked nicely. My daughter got the corn dog and fries. For just under $4, I was pleasantly surprised because nowadays a kids meal cost between 8-10 dollars. The service was a little slow, but I didn't mind.

I have driven by Jim's Place for many years! My wife says "it looks by a biker bar" Her best friend suggested we stop by for dinner. I pulled my 28 foot class class C into the joint and behold ...a huge parking lot behind the building. The menu is large and they offer many Italian dishes, subs, and burgers. The specials tonight were lasagna and fried chicken and a ham and cheese sub. We ordered three lasagnas. The service was good and the decor was country. I would have given them five stars but the lasagna was really hot on the top but a bit cold in the middle. The key lime pie was a buy at $2.99. A good place to eat and not a biker in sight! Jim's looks like a bar but not so much!!!

    Cool John Wayne photos!

The first time we were served by Angel at the bar and she made rum runners on the rocks & my wife had the mango paradise. Both were very refreshing! So much so we had several each as we watched the Cubs on TV. Fly the W! Angel and the vibe at the bar is very chill & welcoming. Our second encounter was for dinner a couple of hours after our first encounter and even at 8:30PM there was still a wait. We actually ate outside at one of the booths where its first come first serve. This time we just had a couple of beers each along with our entrees. I had the Seafood Combo which was trigger fish & shrimp (blackened) with 2 sides (fresh greens beans & cole slaw). My wife had the Sunset Shrimp Pasta Bowl which had 9 pieces of shrimp in a cream based sauce which she said was fantastic! We also got a free t-shirt for our efforts! Woohoo! The ruby reds are fantastic. Easy to peel and the cocktail sauce was nice. Should have ordered more. The butter is too watery and doesn't provide much flavor for it. The grouper was bland and boring. Blackened is apparently just burnt without flavor. The cream sauce didn't help. The collard greens I took one bite and that was it. Just nothing to it. The beans and rice was ok. Coconut shrimp was too sweet with the pina sauce. Just ok. Kids loved the kraft Mac and cheese. And the burger was very bland. Nice bun though. The key lime pie was sweet but the crust was good. Their service is quick and the food is served even quicker.

It's tucked away in a strip mall, so it definitely wasn't what we expected, but don't let the location fool you, this place is a hidden gem. The inside has a fun, laid-back beach vibe, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Our server was super friendly, attentive, and took great care of us. We ordered the redfish special, which was blackened Redfish, topped with crawfish étouffée, served over a grit cake. Everything on the plate worked together perfectly, and the fish was cooked just right. We also had the homemade chips with salsa and beer queso. The queso isn't your typical Mexican-style queso, so don't go in expecting that. It's a rich, flavorful beer queso, and I actually really enjoyed the different twist. It paired perfectly with the fresh, crispy chips. They also have a cute little bar that looked like a great place to grab a drink. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu. If you're in the St. Augustine Beach area, this spot is absolutely worth checking out!
