Amazing little cafe. Great fresh sandwiches. Amazing customer service. What an absolute gem in Orinda.

Hot Ham and Swiss on Sunflower Wheat bread

I had the pleasure of visiting this charming sandwich shop for a quick bite and left quite impressed. The place looks like it's been around for quite some time. It is quaint, inviting, and very suitable for a casual walk-in. The service was friendly; considering it was my first time, they offered to do a sandwich remake free-of-charge if it wasn't to my satisfaction! I got the Hot Ham and Swiss sandwich on sunflower wheat bread, and it was a decision well-made. I really like their locally sourced bread -- truly standout. Altogether it was simple, well-toasted, and incredibly flavorful. Everything melted together, flavors were perfectly balanced making it easy to chomp down. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in search of a satisfying sandwich experience.

    Such a cute little cafe

I enjoyed the beautiful ride to Orinda this morning. This was exactly what I needed, a yummy hot sandwich and a gigantic cup of fragrant green tea, to warm my belly on such a wet day! Service was greetings with a smile, you can never go wrong with that, love the outdoor seating with the course across the way, but it was way too wet. My sandwich was a ham, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on some yummy bread. I refilled my tea 3x because I just love tea.

    Cookies and cream gelato

I came here for the gelato today after work. It was perfect for a hot afternoon. I was warmly welcomed and offered to try samples of the different flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by the cookies and cream so I chose that one. It was very nice to sit next to the window with the view of the golf course and jazz music playing in the background. Overall warm and friendly vibes! I'll be coming back to try the sandwiches!

Longtime customer of Geppetto's! I've gotten coffee drinks and food in the past. My go-to order now is the chicken pesto sandwich. It's tasty and a good amount of ingredients. This time, tried their lemonade. It was refreshing on a hot day!

This place used to be ok , not anymore. AVOID I had a chicken taco salad that was a notch below taco bell. Tiny amount of little microscopic squares of what tasted like canned chicken. The sauce seriously tasted worse than taco bell. The chips were pedestrian low grade safeway chips. Save your money for something good.

    Mocha Frappe.

As often as I am in Orinda and have driven by, I've never had occasion to stop at this cute little caffe. The weather was very hot and I was wanting something cool and refreshing. I got a mocha frappe, one of my favorites and it was soooo delicious and refreshing. Bicyclers that bike the course along the SPD Reservoir often stop here and they say the smoothies are amazing. This place is run by a very nice family and the very friendly lady will make your drinks to your specifications. They have outdoor seating and are Covid responsible with hand sanitizers available as well as individually wrapped masks if their customers need them. They just resumed opening on Sundays again in addition to the other days. They also have sandwiches, salads, quiche, baked items and snacks. Take a tip from the bicyclers that stop here and say that the smoothies are amazing.

So crazy slow. Sandwiches are kind of small. Tasty bread though. Maybe avoid on a busy sunny weekend.

During inclement weather we move to the breezeway near the garage. Joe, the owner, runs a very efficient and friendly shop. The increasing cost of coffee is obviously impacting Joe but he is holding on to his price list. Great place for coffee, breakfast and lunch! We appreciate Joe and highly recommend Cafe Teatro.

I called back and Mia answered and I asked about the Dutch crunch and she said they didn't have it but didn't inform me when I went to pick it up so when I started questioning her she said I was not listening to her and hung up on me . I am an Orindian and never experienced such kind of service extremely rude and disrespectful. I would never go back there . This kind of behavior by a manager is not expected.

The staff were super friendly, you can do takeout or you can have a seat and they'll bring a menu to you. I was definitely overwhelmed with the amount of options that they had. I forgot to take a picture of the breakfast menu, but you could get a breakfast burrito, a breakfast quesadilla, a bagel, different types of empanadas. I was torn between the Carne picada and beef but was recommended the beef so I got that and the chorizo along with a matcha horchata. The drink came out first and you know what, sometimes matcha does taste like grass lol it was definitely a unique taste mixed with horchata. I did have a sip of the horchata before I mixed it all together and the horchata by itself was actually really good. The empanadas are good, the beef was delicious but because they do have to reheat these empanadas I'm not gonna lie, my beef was mostly hot, but there were some lukewarm parts and my chorizo empanada was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. I hate causing problems and making people feel bad so I just took my chorizo home with me and threw it in my air fryer. Again the staff were so freaking nice, I know they 100% would have heated it up again for me but ya girl be shy sometimes okay. But this café was honestly just the perfect vibe. They had music blasting and I was able to do some light reading. I would honestly come back if I'm ever in the area again. I believe they are open seven days a week from 7 AM to 3 PM!

Right when you walk in there is a case of delicious pastries and a menu with many specialty drinks. I was overwhelmed by the menu but the barista was very helpful in picking drinks and pastries. I got a hot Piloncillo Latte with oat milk which was delightful. Not too sweet and perfectly foamy top and was delicious. My boyfriend got an iced Mexican vanilla latte and that was pretty good too. I did prefer my Piloncillo latte tho. For pastries I recommend the pineapple guava cheese roll. They remind me of Porto's but BETTER. It had a good balance of sweet and a slight tang from the pineapple. So good We also got the blue masa chocolate chip cookie which was also good. The masa gave the cookie a more crumbly texture and I swear the chocolate tasted a little like the abuelita hot chocolate. A good pick if you like chocolate The only thing I don't like about this place is the lids for their hot drinks since it's kinda hard to drink out of but aside from that they're awesome.

When we opened one of the boxes, it looked like our food had lost a fight with a tumble dryer. The presentation was so rough that we genuinely laughed because we couldn't believe it was being served that way. Good coffee and food can be forgiven for an occasional mistake, but poor customer service is much harder to overlook.
