I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. This is by far my favorite place to stop at on the south shore... if I'm nearby. Like after a nice day at the beach for example! Obviously, I'm going to rave about their turkey gobbler sandwiches. No one, and I mean no one, makes a better turkey sandwich than this farm right here. Don't know why, but they make it with a slice of WHITE and WHEAT bread, how cool. But for real, their ingredients always taste fresh. I always buy a couple to have for the week. You really can't beat the price either, I think it's around $7/sandy. Don't forget a side of their housemade chips! Tried this place about a month ago and wasn't greatly impressed with the ribs and chicken fingers. Tonight I took out the chicken ala king from my freezer that I bought from there and it wasn't good at all. It's all gravy. I'm still trying to find the chicken. Not worth the money I paid which I think as roughly $8 fir the ala king. Take an extra 15 mins and go to Bongi's in Duxbury if you want good turkey, fried chicken, and pot pies. They would have received five stars if their turkey sandwiches were made to order. I'm sure they're fresh, but it bothered me that the were packaged and ready to go. I decided to get a hot open faced turkey sandwich. The turkey itself was great. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just average. I loved the fresh cut homemade fries. Gerard's is a can't miss stop during our annual vacation down on Rexhame Beach. The turkey dinners are amazing, the baby back ribs are thick and flavorful, the picked beets and cucumber salad are awesome. I can't recommend them enough!! read more

I really enjoy the turkey sandwich, it's big and bursting with ingredients. A few people have mentioned that their turkey is dry, luckily I've never experienced that. I also like what they do with the bread - one side is a slice of white and the other side is wheat. The cranberry sauce is delicious, it has just the right amount of tang. Their gravy is to die for! My boyfriend's parents buy it and freeze it - it still tastes amazing after being defrosted. I would love to tray a turkey pot pie. I like that you can choose white or dark meat or mixed. read more

The turkey sandwiches here are generally good but the bread and stuffing are really dry at times. It's also concerning when it's 90° and humid out that the case with the sandwiches and sides isn't turned on.... The potato wedges are decent but as mentioned, their 'hot' food tends to always be luke warm. The chicken with stuffing and gravy is really good...the gravy is the best part. They have a case where the sandwiches are that has some other items like coleslaw, macaroni salad and some dessert items. The drinks here are Pepsi products. I'd say if you're in the area or on your way to the beach then it would be worth stopping but definitely not worth going out of the way for. *Editing my review- 6/10/12 and adding an extra star since Gerards is now serving ice cream. Tried it for the first time tonight as they serve ice cream til 9 except on Mondays since they're closed. Its 'Bliss' brand and made locally in Attleboro. Went with my husband around 8 and there were only a couple other people there. They had around 20 flavors and also frappes and sundaes. When trying new places, we usually go for the basic flavors to get a good feel for them since they won't be covered up by excessive syrups or toppings. I got black raspberry and husband got choc chip cookie dough. To our surprise, both flavors were awesome!! The consistency of the ice cream is unbeatable- soft, like frozen yogurt, and on the lighter side which is great because you don't feel too full or sickly after, even if you've eaten dinner. No freezer burn or old flavor at all and it was just so good! It was wicked fresh and the people working ( 1 younger girl, an older woman and a man) were so pleasant and appeared genuinely happy to be offering their new product. We will definitely be coming back to try the other flavors and give Gerards the business instead of DQ( which is low standard ice cream to begin with but even lower now), the scoop or far fars! I have been going to Gerards Turkey Farm forever. I remember when you get an amazing turkey sandwich for not a bad price. Now, the price is insane and they skimp on portions. I just got a sandwich the other day and the only way I knew there was "Cranberry sauce" on it was there was a pink tinged hue on the stuffing. The infamous turkey sandwich is the best turkey sandwich you will ever have! My grandfather loved this store and so do i and my family. All the food is good here. They have an amazing pulled pork and you can get full dinners either chicken or turkey. Their BBQ ribs are also very good. Great for a grab and go dinner that is still home made. read more

The food is good but the employees act like you have inconvenienced them when you show up anytime after 5(they close at 6). They act like you have shown up after they closed. On top of that there was a hair in my food when I got home. Apparently it takes too much effort to put a hair net on when serving my food. Thanks but no thanks Gerard's. read more

Been driving by for months and craving to try this place. I wish I had read the reviews first and gone else where. I got the hot turkey sandwich and chose to pay an extra $1.25 for "homemade" mashed potatoes. The turkey was delicious that is what little there was of it my guess about 3 oz. But for a turkey farm it was deli sliced not hand carved like you would expect from a "farm'. They made it look like a heaping plate by putting on a lb of stuffing also good but I didnt pay for a stuffing sandwich. What made laugh is this place is cost efficient for themselves that the slice of bread was the heal from a loaf that make sandwiches that would other wise get thrown out in the trash if they didnt hide it under my stuffing sandwich. Cranberry sauce is not that expensive that could have given me more than a finger nail serving. I estimate it to be about 1/4 oz. The mashed potatoes that I paid extra for was a small ice cream scoop of tasteless gluey paste with lumps that once down a bitter flavor appeared. all this was topped with a lake of gravy. Dont get me I LOVE extra gravy but it hard to tell if there was more gravy than stuffing or about equal amounts.They say they make their own gravy but this liquid concoction never saw a bird. It tasted just like over watered instant gravy mix that was so bland. Needless to say my dreams were crushed by a place that cant do the one and only thing they specialize in that is not that difficult to make and cant give you the right portions on one of the cheapest meats to buy. Great turkey foods! The pre-made turkey sandwiches with stuffing and cranberry sauce are perfect. Sometimes they have homemade chips which are SO good- I wish they had them more consistently! I also love that they have turkey at the deli which is the equivalent of sliced turkey on Thanksgiving. It's not what it used to be! The sandwiches are much smaller and all pre made. There's a variety of mix and match options which is good. The chicken tenders are ok - definitely real meat chicken. The wings are way to salty. The home made chips are inconsistent, sometimes they are great and other times kind of soggy. My favorites are the pickles and the potato wedges. read more

The food is very good HOWEVER if you want a cooked dinner you need to be there by 5:30 at the latest. I've been there at 5:45 and they had put EVERYTHING away long before that. That makes it tough to get a meal if you don't get out of work early enough. read more

It isn't a holiday in my family if we don't have something for Gerard's! We always get our pies there for Thanksgiving and they are always delicious. The chicken is hit or miss (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but everything else is very good. I highly recommend it! read more

if we're JUST talkin turkey (sandwiches), Gerard's would get 5 stars. pricey, but delicious... & i don't mind paying a bit extra for guaranteed good food. i also love the broccoli salad (too many onions, but i pick them out), & baked beans. The other stuff (ribs, fried chicken, roasted birds) are hit or miss. Sometimes fantastic, others times, not so much. read more
