Probably the best shop I've ever been to that doesn't take advantage of the young, broke, and gullible. I went to Collex Collision on Wash.. to get a quote and they tried charging me these ridiculous prices for the popping my bumper off and on, telling me they had to warm up my car which could take awhile and that every hour was going to cost about $80 (on top of the $80 for the bumper job.) When I went to Whitney's, I believe it was Alan that helped me and gave me a flat quote of $80 for everything. By the time I took my car in, I had a bit more damage done on the bottom of my bumper and they didn't charge me extra to put it together. I would highly recommend this place! read more

This is no longer Whitney's. Now it seems to be an impersonal corporate entity with locations all over town. I went today to drop off my vehicle for body repair after getting an estimate and coordinating with my insurance company. In the paper work that they asked me to sign, it stated that I needed to give some guy named Austin, Power of Attorney. That's right, Gerber requires that its customers grant Power of Attorney to this Austin person. Austin, who works for Gerber, apparently will decide for me if I am happy with the work that Gerber performs on my car. Austin decides - not me! When I questioned this practice I was gruffly told by Austin that I was required to appoint him Power of Attorney or they would not do the work. His response to my question was so harsh that I felt that I had only two choices. I could get involved in an argument or I could take my business elsewhere. I left. If you choose to go to Gerber, bring your lawyer. read more

These guys are THE BEST ever! I'm serious about this. I made a Yelp account just to give them this review. I went in a few months ago for a car fix after an unfortunate deer incident, and was way nervous about dealing with car people and being taken advantage of. They were the NICEST people in the entire world, did everything they could to keep costs down, did excellent, excellent work fixing my car, AND have I mentioned -- they REALLY are the nicest people you can ever meet. Since then, I've had a few bumps, scratches, and so on due to old car-ness and rowdy street parking -- and whenever I go in they continue to be super nice, and often even do the fixing up for free. Last night my car's rearview mirror was knocked off while it was parked on the street, and I went to Whitney's to see what they could do -- and they reattached everything completely for free. Had damage to my rear bumper from a parking lot bandit. The guys at Whitney gave me a good option to claiming on my insurance and doing a whole unnecessary replacement and paint job. As cosmetic damage to a 2005 car, they worked a great fix with a heat gun, polishing, and a bit of tlc. The car has rust and other cosmetic wear and tear. Removing the heavy dent and leaving only the remaining crackles in the paint from the initial damage has left it looking to me to be an acceptable overall flow of a ten year old car. I'm so pleased with their honestly and offering up this reasonable fix for an older car. read more

Deserve 6 Stars! Excellent quality of work and customer service. Used them for out-of-pocket repair to 2010 Accord. July 2013. I am so glad to have listened to friends who recommended this place. My Honda had some paint damage on the hood and scratches on front bumper. Mike was the repair representative and he walked through the individual costs to repair my car's paint job. This was important because I was paying out of pocket. With his advice, I chose not to repaint part of the bumper and just repair the damage on the hood. He answered all of my questions and took the time to not make me feel like I was making a rushed decision. I dropped the car off without a problem and picked it up on time. To my surprise, the bumper looked like it was cleaned up. Turns out that before Mike could catch it, the technician repainted the bumper by mistake. They did an excellent job on the bumper too and since it was their mistake, Mike didn't charge me for the repaired bumper!!! I wish all auto body places were this honest and reliable. read more

My Civic was damaged in a couple spots in the rear, but I requested a fix for just the broken tail light. They not only fixed the tail light (looks good as new), but they also buffed out some big scratches on the bumper AND vacuumed the inside. I hate cleaning my car, so that was a major plus. Over the last year I have had several occasions to visit the Jackson Ave location of Whitney's. Each time the service was exceptional and the quality was excellent. The staff are knowledgable, personable and just really good down to earth guys. I needed to get a windshield replaced. While they do not provide that service they recommended another company that did a great job on 3 windshield replacements. I love these guys and sometimes bring them donuts just because I want to keep them sweet on my family! I recommend them for body work without reservation. read more

After getting a quote for over $700 elsewhere to repair two deep scratches in our truck's liftgate, we decided to get a competitive bid from Whitney's based on a recommendation from a friend. Whitney's bid for the comparable level of repair (grind down and repaint of the liftgate) was $200 less than the other place, but they also offered to try their hand at rubbing the scratches down and touching them up for $48, saying they were confident we would be pleased. They were right! The touch up is amazing and it's very nearly as if the scratch never happened. And when we picked the truck up, it was freshly washed from bumper-to-bumper to boot. I was involved in a rear-end accident on August 15, 2017. My insurance company stated that this collision center was their preferred repair shop, and the only one in a forty mile radius of Toledo, Ohio. I took the vehicle in and they sent pictures and a report to my insurance company. Once the insurance company had approved the work, I took the vehicle back and they began the work. The car was finished about 10 days later. Instead of calling my cell phone to let me know the car was ready, they called the house and left a message. This resulted in my not being able to get the car until 5 minutes before the place was supposed to close. They didn't have me look at the vehicle until after I had signed over the insurance checks. Immediately, I noticed that the paint in the rear did not match the paint on the rest of the vehicle. My car is gray with small silver flecks. The back end, which they had repainted, had flecks that reflected rainbow colors like blue and green. Also, the bumper was darker gray than the rest of the vehicle, and the underside of the trunk lid was painted flat black. I asked Tony to come out and look at this. He started making excuses. He told me a lot of companies don't paint the inside of the trunk, and have a darker bumper. I told him my car had the underside of the trunk painted, and the bumper was the same color. Then he insisted that if I pulled the vehicle out into the light, so the light was shining evenly on both the front and back of the car, it would make the metallic flake look right. It didn't. I refused to take the car. After another ten days spent repainting the vehicle, they called me again to say it was ready. I went to pick it up. I was so focused on the previous issues, that I didn't notice the front end of my vehicle. As I was driving home, I noticed that there were rusty brown speckles all over my windshield. When I got home, I walked around the vehicle and realized these speckles were on my windshield, my hood, my headlights, even my grill in the front of my vehicle. I took the vehicle back on Monday, as it was already fairly late in the day on Friday when I had gotten the vehicle back. This time I dealt with a female (sorry, can't remember her name), but she started saying it looked like tar, that I must have driven through some fresh tar. I hadn't driven through any tar, and there hadn't been any tar when I dropped the vehicle off three weeks earlier, but she started scraping some of the stuff off with her fingernails. She asked me to come back the next day so the detailer could work on it. I brought it back the next day, and the detailer worked on it for 45 minutes, while I sat in their hot waiting room. When I got the vehicle back, it was better, but there are still speckles on my hood, on my windshield, and on my grill. Since then, I have taken it to a different body shop. They had to do about $1000 more work to it, because the rear body panel underneath the quarter panel was still dented, so when Whitney's put my car together, the trunk lid was lower than the rear quarter panel, and the rear taillight was not aligned with the trunk edge. Furthermore, the trunk gasket did not meet up with the rear bumper. There was also a chunk missing from the rebar in the back that was caught by the new body shop. I could say more, but let this be a warning. They had my car for three weeks, they had to fix it twice, and then I had to have someone else fix it. Very shoddy workmanship. I've never seen such a bad repair. read more

So, let start out by saying, I had great hopes for Whitney's. They had great reviews all over the Web and the gentleman at the desk was friendly on the phone and in person. The shop looks clean and trustworthy and I had nothing but good thoughts about them. I dropped off my 2013 to have the drivers side repaired from a minor hit and run side swipe. Fast forward one month, yes one month. I was without my car for one woke month. Lucky for them, I could care less. I don't actuator drive my car with the exception of maybe twice a month. Lovin the pedestrian life! So, in one months time they should've fixed that baby to prefect factory condition right? Wrong. First, they tried to charge geico more than the allowable hourly rate. Plus I had estimates elsewhere and they were all cheaper. Second, they blatantly blamed geico for everything. I don't care who's to blame, I'm not an auto body therapist, I'm a customer. Third, after finally calling to tell me to pick it up a month later, he informs me they scratched my window tint. At least they told me. So he gave me 65 bucks instead of just freaking fixing it. Lastly, I get home tonight and close my back door.... it's freaking hollow. Empty. They left out the insulating panels and who knows what else. I'm going first thing in the morning to try to have them fix what they screwed up. I'll let you know what happens next. read more

Really good guys through and through. They do great work too! They have been open about 1.5 yrs. as of August 09 so fairly new, but the small shop really takes pride and delivers on promises, quotes and work. I highly recommend. And they'll drop you off and pick you up and are conveniently right down from Japanese Motors, another good "ma and pa type place" where you know who you're dealing with and they know you'll spread the work and/or see you again. I'll add mine to the glowing reviews of Whitney's. In addition to being INCREDIBLY pleasant, Whitney's does a great job. My car needed A LOT of work-- and insurance wouldn't cover it-- and they were wonderful about keeping the costs down as much as they could. And it looks as good as new. Plus, they cleaned the interior, which made me feel even happier as I was driving my newly-fixed car home. The only reason I'm not giving Whitney's five stars is this: it says on their website they'll give you a free loaner. This is only sort of true. They only have a couple, and if your car is damaged at a busy time (i.e. winter), those loaners will probably not be available. I'm sure if they'd had one available they would've given me one, but it was a little disappointing. (I still debated giving them five stars even with this in mind, if that says anything.) Overall, i recommend them very, very highly. read more

I got an estimate from a couple places on the repair I needed and Whitney's was the same price and better customer service, so I went with them. Plus, I didn't have to make an appointment for an estimate. They did a good job of explaining what the costs were and why a tiny little dent costs so much (you have to paint the entire body panel in my case). My car came back looking absolutely perfect. I left my car with them while I was out of town, so I don't know how fast they would have been if I needed it back ASAP, but overall I was happy with my choice. read more

A joke. Original estimate was about $900 so I was going to pay out of pocket because my deductible is $1,000. Then the estimate went up and up and up. Just went in for a small repair today. Consistent, fair and professional treatment. I've taken my car there three times; even with a gap of over a year between appointments they still remember me. As a woman, I've always felt respected and heard; no outlandish upselling etc. made dealing with AAA effortless. After reading the reviews, I took a chance and got quoted at Whitney's. The price was reasonable and the service impeccable. After dropping my car off, they gave me a ride home, then also later picked me up when the car was ready (and it only took 2-3 hours). Not only did they fixed my bumper, but they also cleaned up the scratch I told them about on the side of the car and vacuumed the inside (which was really dirty). The actual price also turned out slightly lower than the initial quote. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to get body work done here! read more

Good stuff. My front driver's side fender was damaged so I took it to a couple of places for estimates and Whitney's offered by the lowest quote. They were receptive when I requested certain parts be repaired to their best ability rather than replaced outright as other shops insisted, and even quoted much cheaper aftermarket alternatives to factory components. Initially I was slightly skeptical as the they didn't peer under the hood for additional damage there, so I was prepared to see the repair bill escalate over the estimate. It didn't! The final repair bill was actually lower than the estimate and the repair job very well done. I'd give them 5.5 stars! However, I was overcharged three dollars accidentally so I took off half a star. Plus they offer a discount to UM students/employees. I'm super happy with my experience there. read more

I wanted to stop by and write a review since I heard Whitney's collision was being confused with the scary tire place over by Briarwood. It's been a few years since I was at Whitney's but they were truly fantastic when I needed them. My car needed a new bumper. The gentleman who took my case was wonderful. He treated me like family and I felt he truly cared about my needs. They were efficient, timely and worked great with my insurance. My car repair was excellent and several years later I can report I've had zero problems with the repair. I no longer live in A2 but if a friend there needed a collision place this world be my top suggestion. read more

I'm sure it's a great place to go if your insurance is fully covering the work. However, my insurance wasn't going to cover this, and they estimated the work for almost $2900. I explained that my insurance wasn't going to cover it and asked if there was anything else they could do - they gave me a student discount that brought it down a little over $100. I took my car to Cueter's collision center and explained my situation. They tried to find the cheapest parts available (which, to be fair, ended up being about the same price as the parts portion of the estimate from Whitney's). The final estimate ended up being $1300. Despite Whitney's being a relatively friendly place (and from the other reviews on here it does seem like they do great work) I do not plan on giving any future business to a company that is clearly completely ripping off non-insured customers. read more

These guys were AWESOME!! I had my first accident a few weeks ago. It was pretty minor, just someone denting my front bumper and knocking my headlight. I was able to get a quote from them and then come back a week later to get the issue fixed. When I came to pick up my car, it looked great! Also, I got a student discount, so the price ended up being even lower than quoted! To top it all of, they cleaned the inside of my car! THE INSIDE!! So cool!! Whitney's service far exceeded my expectations. Ethan and the other staff members were friendly and efficient, and they went the extra mile to be helpful and accommodating. The repairs to my car's bumper and mirror were perfect and were completed even earlier than promised. Better still, not only did they wash and polish the whole car so that it sparkled, but they surprised me by vacuuming and cleaning the entire interior down to the coin holder so that I felt as if I was getting into a new car. These guys are honest, quick, reasonable, and very friendly. I had an issue with an internal bracket on my bumper due to hitting an object on the highway that fell from a truck on a roadtrip. No external damage to the car, but the bumper wouldn't fully attach on one side and would wobble/make noise when driven above 50mph. Right after it happened (while on my trip in Philly), I found a Subaru dealer a friend recommended who said that they didn't have the bracket that I needed, but it shouldn't be more than $70 (parts and labor) to replace. So I was a bit surprised to get quotes from Subaru dealers in the AA area in the $250 range. They reasoned that they'd need to take off the whole bumper, replace the bracket, and the entire plastic wheel well to get it all fixed. They also said I'd also have to pay for the replacement parts upfront. I then went to Whitney's to get a quote to see if the Philly Subaru dealer or the AA Subaru dealers had given me a bad quote. Without an appointment or backstory from me, they quickly examined the vehicle and the broken bumper bracket. They explained that while I could replace both the plastic wheel well and the bracket, their suggestion was just replace the bracket as it was enough to hold the bumper in place on its own. Total for the part and labor - $52 - none of which was due until the job was done. Once they received the part a few days later, I brought my car in and 15 minutes later drove away avoiding a $250 bill for a relatively minor fix. Since I'm new to the AA area, they also gave me a few recommendations for mechanics in town that I will definitely check out for my next oil change. As I hope to not need these guys in the future (knock on wood), I thought the least I could do is recommend them to others on here! read more

I was rear-ended in May and had my 2012 Ford Fusion fixed by this body shop. They did amazing work, and my car looks brand new. They are very reasonably price and charged $1000 less than the first shop that I went to for an estimate. They also provided me with a loaner car free of charge. Absolutely Terrible! Whitney is a fast talking scammer who will tell you anything to get your money. He claimed that he would get me new Michelin tires at $75 each. After waiting around for 3 hours while he continued to outright lie to me, he made me listen to the tire shop at Costco tell him how much Michelin tires would cost ($600) then tried to sell me his no name garbage tires for $400. Please save your time and hard earned money and go elsewhere for your automotive needs. read more

I do not know about you guys but this is my experience. My car has been in their place for 40+ days now and they still haven't finished it. I mean I could understand this is one of the worst winter and it took time. They told me that I could get my car two weeks ago, and then they told me it could be done no later than last Friday and then I was told it would be done very early this week. But then I just called them and they told me the parts ordered for my car were not even here yet. This makes me really angry because I kept being given hope by them and all in the end turned out to be just LIES! Why couldn't you just tell me you ordered the parts and they were not here yet and we don't know when it's gonna be done. The worse thing is that they do not have a loaner car so I have been renting a car for 40+ days! I am really disappointed of their attitude of keeping telling you lies. read more

This is my first time ever writing a Yelp review, but I felt it necessary. I went to Whitney's Collision Center this afternoon to get an estimate. It was minimal damage, but it drove me nuts. They checked out the damage and actually removed the paint from the pole that was left on my car; it revealed very minimal scratches and said it would take about $100 to fix (which I decided against it because they were so minimal). They did not charge me for removing the paint. This was completed after I received another estimate from another collision shop that said it would take $450. If I ever need further assistance, I will definitely come back here. read more
