While I understand that delays in vehicle repairs and the need for follow-up service are sometimes unavoidable, my overall experience with Gerber was ultimately disappointing due to the handling of the situation by the General Manager, Shirita. After multiple delays and an initial pickup where the check engine light promptly returned--requiring me to bring the car back--I was met with a lack of professionalism when I expressed concerns about both the delays and the fact that the vehicle was returned without the turbo reinstalled. These are valid safety and performance issues, yet Shirita was dismissive, confrontational, and unwilling to engage in a constructive conversation. When I requested contact information for her superior to escalate the matter, I was told to "find it myself on the website." For the record, Will--if this review finds you--your contact information was not, in fact, on the website. Customer service should be about more than just fixing the vehicle--it should also include respectful and responsive communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

My Wife took her 2021 Hyundai Palisade to this location after hitting a Deer on the right front. After nine weeks and one day we got it back. The next morning on the way to work the Palisade alerted a "Overheat" indication. The radiator support bracket was replaced, so most likely they took the radiator out to replace the bracket. They forgot to replenish the coolant. They said " It's ready to go" After nine weeks, you would think this vehicle would be "Perfect". Nope! The worst part was the Palisade went to LaFontaine Hyundai in Livonia to have the front harness replaced and the coolant system could have been properly serviced. Formerly operating as Collex Collision, the shop here is now part of the Gerber Collision & Glass chain. I trust they retain all the folks and great service. Fortunately,  I've had little need for collision repair until recently when a car backed into my bumper (and fled). My insurance (USAA) set the repair up and I could not have been more pleased with the service & results. The shop was great. They started off with a thorough,  yet fast estimate of the repair.  I set up a return to drop the car off and two days later, my vehicle was returned looking great.  Along the way, I received texts from on the progress of the work and notification when it was complete. Jen anf the reception folks inside were great, very friendly & thorough. Hopefully, I'll not need any more collision repairs for awhile,  but if I do, I'll be sure to have my insurance send my repair here. read more

Fast efficient and professional service coordinated well with our Liberty mutual auto insurance as well as with the Enterprise rental agency. Car was returned fixed and clean inside and out in less time than promised. They did seem a bit busy when I first arrived so I had to wait. Although this was work done based on recommendation by insurance company, I would return again if given opportunity. read more

I never saw an auto shop collision that is actually try hard not to do business with you. They want me to wait for too long until I drop off (after over a week from the phone call) and have to wait until they finish the estimate process (no drop-off and leave option) and within a specific time window during the day.. and wait forever to get it fixed. when I said sorry I can't do that as i'm not available on the time window you gave me, they're like ok bye-bye. read more

Disclosures: I am a UMich student with very little time or money. I came in to get one problem fixed: a passenger window had fallen into the door. Gerber was very helpful and determined that it was a broken motor and gave me a host of options and price ranges for various levels of fixes. I decided that because this is a national chain they would do great work so I would do the most expensive fix. My thinking was that if they fixed it right, I wouldn't have to come back again. I was wrong. When they returned my vehicle they showed me that my window worked again and I was very excited. Fast forward 3 days - I tried opening the same door they had worked on: it didn't open. I brought the car back to Gerber and they insisted that the problem was completely separate from the window issue. I do not believe this at all, as the door was working just fine before they opened it and worked on it. Again, they were very professional and provided me with estimates to fix the "separate" issue. I decided I didn't need it fixed and informed them to close it up and I'll be on my way. There was a problem: the mechanic estimating the door issue had cracked the plastic panelling of my door while opening it up. At this point I developed a theory: Gerber auto collision is an "N+1" kind of place. You come in with N number of problems, and you leave with N+1 problems! Despite impressive professionalism, communication, prices and work guarantees, I give Gerber 2/5 because in the end it comes down to workmanship and I just do not believe they are as elite as other reviews here state. P.S. it has been over a week since they guaranteed they would fix my broken plastic trim for free and they have yet to call me to schedule the work. They worked a miracle. I was set to leave for a cross country move with my car a couple days after the work on my car was set to be finished. Due to a couple delays (not their fault) the car wasn't going to be done by my departure date. I originally contacted them about getting the car in an unfinished but drivable state so I could make my move and have the car finished in my new location, but they managed to get the part and install it on the very same day so my car would be ready for the move. Went in to get help with my hood latch not working properly. Not only did Will help me quickly, and for no charge for my problem!! He also was able to get a estimate for a more complete fix (at a reasonable price ) and explained once the part was order that it would be less then an hour for repair. Gerber did a really nice job with my car. I had a lot of damage from a guardrail, and they were able to match the paint pretty much perfectly. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that it took longer than they thought, as a part didn't get there when expected. Also, when i inspected the car when I picked it up, they had missed some damage on the door handle that was a result of the accident. Mike was really great about it, and no questions asked they painted the door handle and had my car ready the next morning. They even touched up some speckle paint chips on my hood for me with no charge. Good service and a good job on the body work. I've had sub-par body work done on past cars, and I know it's tough to achieve good part alignment. Especially with the paint color and bumper. I would recommend gerber. read more

I highly recommend this place! I had the drivers door fixed there years ago. So when my son called to say the door wouldn't close(literally, I had to force it to within 4 inches and bungee it), I took it to Gerber out of desperation! The manager not only came out to talk to me about whether it could still be under warranty, he actually took it in and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes!! Definitely recommend you check them out, if you ever need bodywork. read more
