Prompt friendly service. Had a problem with the rear gate on my van not opening. They discovered a way to get it open and told me a software update should solve the problem. Honest and fair. Another repair service said it would cost several hundred dollars even if they discovered it just needed an update. Would they have been that honest and told me I just needed an update? Probably not. This is the type of top-notch service I received when I took my Honda to Gerber Collision and Glass in Canton. The day started out like any other, I made a trip into Ann Arbor to do some shopping. I noticed it was early, so I decided to drive down the street where my old elementary school was located at. It's been many year since I had seen the place, so I figured why not take a nostalgic drive-by the building, and check out the recent renovations made to the school. It was when I was driving by the playground, a tree branch came down went across the top of my vehicle from front to back, leaving a nice long mark in the paint. Never mind the laughing (chattering) squirrel in the tree trying to look innocent, I needed to asses what just happened. Upon checking the damage and taking photos; I knew I needed professional assistance. I drove by the local Honda dealer in Ypsilanti, but they told me that they didn't have a body shop to perform any repairs. However, they recommended that I take my vehicle to Gerber's on US-12 (Michigan Ave.) in Canton. So I decided to head there immediately. I drove in and the professional staff at Gerber, decided to look at my car, and since they weren't too busy, they took my Honda inside the shop. I'd give them 0 stars if I could... stay away from this shop. Took 3 weeks to get my car in...3 more weeks for them to finally decide it was a total loss, claiming the frame is twisted. Had 3 weeks to put my front bumper bacon on as I chose to retain my vehicle....never put it back on, claiming it's like putting a square peg into a round hole. My mechanic and I put it back on in an hour. They never gave me back my windshield washer reservoir, which is illegal....finally after calling they ordered me a new one....weeks later I have to drive out of my way to pick it up....now stuff is falling off the underbody of my car...not rust, missing nuts and bolts, coinencedensce, I think not...just bad work or intentional....never will I go back to a Gerber read more

I was rear ended in a parking lot so its considered private property so the police were unable to write a ticket for the damage to my car. I took my car to Dusty's based on reviews and they were right. They looked my rear end over and popped the bumper back into place, no charge and sent me on my way. Dusty's did amazing body work on my Explorer. The car is an older model with 110,000+ miles on it and after going through Dusty's its looks like a new car. Thanks Brad, Tonya and all the technicians at Dusty's. I was so impressed with their work I brought my Ford Transit Van over there to get a little touch up work to fix the rusting around the rear windows. Brad told me that Transits are like that and that just touching up would not work because in his experience it will come back. He told me to just let it get worse and change the door with a used one from down south (where the problem is not as severe) a year or two down the road and that would save me quite a bit of money. So Brad gave up some immediate profit in order to provide good, honest customer service. Now that is what I call a well run business. They did work and didn't even charge me!!EXCELLENT place if you're looking for good, honest people. Took my 2003 Toyota Highlander in with damage around the front tires (kept hearing rubbing noise when driving). They looked at it and deduced someone must've backed into me and cracked my front bumper. This (along with normal wear and tear on a 14 y/o car) meant some of the plastic pieces under the car were sort of haphazardly hanging and rubbing around the tire. (I thought maybe I had pulled too far forward when parking and maybe rubbed the bottoms on a tall curb or something.) Asked if I wanted it fixed "new" for around $700 (would need new bumper and all) or just so it is safe to drive for a bit longer (it's 14 years old 180,000 miles) for about $50. I chose the latter. Dropped it off late that night and left the keys in their convenient drop box, which is stocked with envelopes and pens. Next day, it was done by 11 am. When I finally make it there after work, they just give me the keys and say, "no charge" since it was so easy and all they did was use some zip ties to safely fasten and secure all pieces together. Very unprofessional. My husband brought his car in for minor repair - window and bumper - because they are an approved source through State Farm insurance. Dropped off on Wednesday. Went over everything that needed to be repaired and was assured that the bumper would be taken off to be sure there was no internal damage. Picked up car the following Wednesday only to find the passenger seat was pushed up - clearly a baby seat was put in the car because there was a baby bottle still in the car and milk spilled only with groceries and a receipt in the bag from Saturday - radio stations had been changed. Pulled out and the window was not fixed properly and after bringing it back and confronting them, they ignored the fact that it had been driven, brought it around back and fixed the window but the bumper had not been taken off to be fixed or was fixed properly but they billed State Farm for work that was not done. A call to State Farm to have them removed as an approved source will be made. Trying to give local businesses work and they treat their customers poorly is an understatement. I would not recommend this body shop to anyone. My car took 6 weeks to complete when I was told 2. In addition, when I picked up the car after 6 weeks it was not done right and had to be taken back. The staff was very rude and communication was insufficient at best. read more
