I had an appointment to have an inspection on my vehicle due to hitting a pothole. This would have been an insurance claim with a deductible. I noticed there was a slight separation of the bumper on the passenger side. Ivan inspected my vehicle and told me that the bumper was still secure. There were no missing screws and the bumper was not loose and would not be problematic. I appreciated the honesty and his professionalism. Brought in my Tacoma for an insurance claim. Overall they did a pretty good job. However, I did not particularly appreciate with what they did with my dashcam. I would've given them 5 stars but they attempted to take down my dashcam while they were fixing my car resulting in a missing screw. Eventually they figured out that they could unplug the power thru the smoke to usb connector. Now I have I put this ghetto nail to keep the camera in place. Beware if you have dashcams. Update: Rudy the manager reached out to me to fix the issues I had encounter. He told me that the painters regularly removes dashcams to prevent them from being damage in the oven. Gave them a second chance to remediate the additional issues that were found since Rick the regional manager was confident in the new management team placed there. Yet they missed again. Picked up the car and it still has the loud noise they said they were going to review and fix. The bumper is STILL miss aligned and the trunk liner as well. Expect to follow up yourself, the first couple days, Rudy explained he was going to fix this and this... days passed, the expected day arrived, car was not ready; okay take your time. Reached out to my insurance team, they connected with Gerber and I returned to have the less than acceptable work finished properly. There was internal damage (back arm rest broken) and grease stains on my overhead. Received my vehicle 1/3/25 with my rear passenger door inoperable from the inside as of today 1/6/25 they will order the parts and replace SMH...I don't have the time but NEED it obviously. I went to have my brakes serviced and immediately they advise that my wheel locks are missing totally from all four tires. My wheel lock tool was obviously accessed from my glove box so why weren't my locks placed back on my wheels?? I left another VM hopefully I receive a call back without having to initiate contact as I did this morning. This is beyond ridiculous at this point and have run out of patience with Gerber. Two of the staff members are nice that I've dealt with but nice doesn't give me my time/energy back! read more

This shop was one of the repair store recommendations through my insurance, Connect American Families insurance company through Costco. The leadership at the shop lacks foresight in hiring repair workers who are subpar and having a general manager who does not communicate, absent, avoids deadlines. This has a trickle-down effect on their delivery date and workmanship. Every day my car was at their shop created more property damages: smeared paint on my window, paint chipped on the body of my car, debris left unattended while repairing the truck, scraped tinted window, spoiler not properly attached to the vehicle, passenger quarter panel making screeching noises, et cetera. Their work is 100 percent guaranteed, they said. After taking near two months for a job they said will take three weeks, it took five additional trips to have my car mostly repaired. I finally realized the "repair" will never happen. Why? If they fix one problem, they create another -- damaged property on my car. So even though it is 100 percent guaranteed work, it was 100 percent guaranteed property damage while trying to fix the initial problem. Do not use this place. They did an excellent job in installing the parts and restoring my car. There were delays from the manufacturer with receiving the parts. I am the owner of a Helicopter Repair company here in the LA Area. I was rear ended in my Dodge Ram Pickup and took the vehicle to Cal Auto for the repairs. They handled this job so well, I decided to see if they could also paint one of my helicopters. This is a HUGE risk, because I have had other car shops paint my helicopters before and it has turned ugly. So I didn't know what to expect and I was really worried, but I gave them a chance anyways. I was so surprised how nice the aircraft came out!!! Of the 15 or so helicopters I have rebuilt, this was by far the nicest paint job ever. I mean just look at the photos, ... these jobs turned out amazing! Aircraft are very difficult to paint because they are aluminum and fiberglass, and have very thin skins, easily damaged. They have hundreds of tiny rivet heads, which each have to be stripped perfectly clean before painting. Then each of those little rivets is a paint drip and run ready to happen, unlike auto surfaces which don't have these tiny extrusions to fuss with. I wanted a totally custom three stage paint job on one of the red helicopters shown, and the surfaces change from fiberglass to aluminum on the fuselage, to steel on the landing gear. Each surface material has its own unique problems, they all came out perfect. Ya, it took a long time to do the work, but the result was amazing. Six months later the paint is still perfect! I send all my aircraft paint work to Cal Auto now, stop by and ask David to show you some more aircraft they have painted. If you want aircraft quality paint on your vehicle repair, there is only one shop that can do that!
