The manager Ron took it upon himself to make my repairs right. Ron went above and beyond to get the OEM parts for my car and replace everything. MUCH LOVE to Darcy and Angela! Read on... No one wants to be in a car wreck, and then deal with the insurance company and body shop and go without your car for who knows how lon....its such a hassle. BUT...after my experience with Gerber in Oregon City I forgot about the trouble because I had the best possible experience with the team there, specifically Darcy and Angela. Darcy is such a delight! friendly, helpful, professional and knows her stuff. Angela also made our experience very enjoyable, despite the nature of our visit. Our car was ready on time and when I saw it, I gasped. It looked amazing, better than it has in many years! The repair was beautiful and the entire car was clean and glossy. it's like it got a whole new life while at Gerber. I can't be more grateful to Darcy particularly who worked with the insurance company AND the car rental company to make this an unexpectedly great experience. Horrible customer service ! It starts with the receptionist who is an incompetent nightmare. Don't stop in for an estimate. Waited about 20 minutes to be told an estimate needs to be scheduled. Earliest appointment was a week out. Just for the estimate!! Showed up for scheduled estimate appointment, waited 40 minutes and left without an estimate. No apologies or appreciation for my time and understanding. This place does not want your business. The owner might but the person they have running it sure doesn't. Or they are so over worked they are intentionally doing bad business. Save yourself and your vehicle a lot of time and headache. Go somewhere, anywhere else. You will be glad you did. Couldn't have been any ruder or more unhelpful. Glad I found out their business practices before trusting them with my vehicle. read more

I was out of a car for 147 days because of shops being backed up. I just asked for a letter explaining this so I can get the other insurance to cover rental costs. The insurance only wants to pay for time it was in shop. It took 4 months to get into shop. They refuse to write letter so I'm going to be out $5k. It was much better as J&M. Go somewhere else. We purchased a car that had some cosmetic damage, but also a hollow sounding door, and a spring missing on the fuel door cover. The dealership we purchased it from said they were going to cover everything, but later amended the coverage letter. Gerber Collision and Glass went above and beyond for us by fixing the issues that were not longer covered and even removing a couple random strips of pin-striping all without extra cost to us! I was absolutely dreading the task of having my car repaired after someone hit my car and left without a note. Darcy at Gerber was absolutely WONDERFUL. I showed up a day early for my appointment (oops) and she was so kind and did a little bit of the pre-work then since she had the time. She communicated with me regularly and let me know what to expect and when. The quality of the work they did is top notch. To my delight, as I was trying to navigate getting my rental car back and picking up my repaired car, I was told that I could leave my rental with them when I picked up my car since they arranged for my rental to start with. When I was rear ended on 11/19 I chose this shop because they were one of the only ones that could get me in before the new year. I am sad that I didn't wait because I could have taken it elsewhere and got a better repair that would have been done sooner than this place. They had my car for a month and a half for a repair that according to their own estimate should have taken a week. After a month of having my car, the night before I should have gotten it back, I was emailed a photo of a dent not 2 in away from where the accident took a chunk of my car off asking if it was a part of the loss. I told them it was. Since they waited for a month to ask me about it, it added another week to my repair time. Not to mention it took them over a week to figure out they submitted my initial suplement incorrectly because they cannot read instructions. Now that I finally have my car back as of today...they didnt even fix it correctly. I was rear ended and it caused my lift gate to be off kilter. I was assured it was not an issue with the lift gate so they would not reaplace it just repair and it would fix the issue. Well guess what it's still off kilter so it will now need to be refixed. I use may car for my second job as Courier and Rideshare and was unable to do this for way longer than necessary putting me in debt. Now it looks like if I want my car fixed right I will either have to give it back and wait another month and a half or find a new shop all together. read more

Went in cause wife got rear-ended for estimat. Pointed out why damage there was. Buy the way only had car 6 weeks And was in great shape till Rear-ended. The estimater sucks she said I don't know much about ford fiesta and don't know if car came stock with misaligned panels. BS man car was in great shape I know I'm also a I car certified auto collision repair trained. So I know what am talking about so she only estimated rear bumper damage. Now my insurance is giving me crap about rest of the car. Cause of a bad estimation job. Thanks for nothing, I work hard for what I have and that's why I pay insurance to be protected from idiots. I took my car to Gerber to fix what another body shop had done to my car. Gerber got my car fixed early and did a fantastic job. It hasn't looked this good since I bought it in 2009. I got rear-ended on 10/4, and these guys were who I went to per my insurance company. They have been nothing but helpful and patient and kind. My car was totaled, and I have never experienced that before. Now all of a sudden I'm looking at having to buy a new car. They were kind enough to point me to dealerships nearby that had connections. I really appreciate the patience that Ron and Denise have shown me. It really does make a huge difference when I'm still in a great deal of pain and stress. First, I'll start by saying the LIVE customer service agent and technician were great; however, approximately two weeks after the first appointment was made, we learned the day before, that our windshield was not in stock in Portland, but in Utah!! The day of the second scheduled appointment - no call with a time frame. We had to call them only to learn this time they didn't have the correct adhesive needed! What is it they say about third time being a charm? You guessed it! We FINALLY have a new windshield. Only took three weeks, give or take a day. There won't be a next time, our insurance agent was notified informing him of our experience. If we ever need a replacement again we'll go elsewhere. read more

I never thought that I would ever give a 5 star review for an auto body shop. I have no complaints though with this experience. For starters, I always assumed J&M was expensive so I've only taken insurance claim damage to them (in Milwaukie) and wasn't very impressed with the work either. So this time, with no claim, just needed my hinges replace on my car door, I wanted to stay very local. Well, Oregon City has what, TWO, body shops? And I wasn't about to go back to Carstar. So I stopped for an estimate at J&M up by the Willamette Falls in Oregon City. I recieved VERY friendly service from the receptionist and the estimator guy. I had already bought the 1 hinge that I figured needed replaced. Ron suggested I replace both just in case the one wasn't the total problem. He gave me the option of again buying it myself somewhere else or having them order it. I chose to buy it. The estimate he gave me was VERY reasonable and surprisingly low in my opinion. Well my life got real busy and I just couldn't find the time to part with my car for repairs so I put it off for a long time. The nice lady at J&M called and asked if I had the work done elsewhere and they'd delete my estimate. I asked her to please hold the file and I will call as soon as I can get it done. I finally got around to ordering my part and so called J&M for an appointment. They told me I could bring it in the next morning. I recieved the same great service at drop off with a complete explaination of what the costs are and the risk of higher cost if they find that the dash has to come off. He told me it could possibly be done the same day. I was still shocked that at 4:30pm when I called, they said it was done! I drove straight there and it was done for the original estimated price. THey painted the hinges to match my car perfectly and gave me the left over paint in the bottle. (great to have for chips and dings). I was told they use a rental car company as a loaner in the meantime and if My insurance didn't cover the rental that they would for no additional charge... They covered it. I use my car 90% for work, these guys told me it would take a week, then 2 weeks. Don't be shocked when you actually see that these guys don't know what the right hand is doing compared the the left. My car is waiting on insurance to decide it's fate and I was told by an employee that I would be charged a storage fee if I could not get my car fixed by insurance and could not afford to fix my car. We had a really hard time getting things fixed on my car it took this company a very long time to get parts order and getting the correct parts. My husband were so done with this place since we were getting lied too every time we called. I even wrote up my complete here on yelp and i got a response from corp. office. But it was not until i spoke with Pamela at corporate that she got in touch with Tyler District Mgr and we were contacted by Tyler and things started happening, within days of contacting Pamela and Tyler are car was fixed with the proper stuff and we were done and on our way. We really appropriate there efforts to make things right in such a hurry for us. If you are not happy with something go straight to the source it will save you a headache in the long run.
