TOP GERE! My daughter's Honda Civic fell behind on its regular maintenance schedule a bit at 235,000 miles and needed some help to get back on track. Upon recommendation of a friend, we brought the Honda to Gere Auto Repair. The radiator hose was leaking and the car had overheated. The belts were cracked and I had no idea if the timing belt and water pump had been changed on schedule at 210,000 miles from the previous owner. The car was loosing oil slowly and a couple of other small maintenance items needed to be done such as the trunk did not latch properly and the driver's headlamp was operating intermittently. We were given an estimate of the work that needed to be done, which they were able to e-mail to me. The estimate looked OK, and they had an opening the next day. The mechanic fixed all of the issues in the car one by one. At 4:00 the service adviser called to let me know that one of his part deliveries was a bit late, so the work was going to have to go into overtime. The oil leak was due to a leaky oil pan gasket, which they fixed. The shop normally closes at 5:30. By 5:30, the car was bolted together again and ready for a test drive. The car was nicely cleaned-up and ran like a charm. We were out by 6:10. No sticker shock and everything was fixed. I am glad they did not rush the job just to get out at quitting time, but worked in order to do the job right. I will be bringing the car back to Gere Auto Repair for regular oil changes so that it can be preventatively maintained. Their check list identifies maintenance issues that need to be taken care of beyond selling you an air filter, light bulbs or new windshield wipers, but also identifies all those problems that you need the mechanic to catch early like leaks, brake pads, CV joint issues, etc. Regular oil changes and keeping up with maintenance is the secret to keeping a car running for a long time. Thanks to all at Gere Auto Repair for a job well done right.

Thanks to Ryan for sure too, for being the glue that holds this place together. Very much credit to this shop for helping me keep my Acura on the road. Thank you.

Don't make the mistake I did. Go to Kings Auto instead…read more I spent $910 to not have the problem fixed. They put in faulty spark plugs in my engine which happens. It's not always possible to guarantee quality of parts. The unfortunate part is that error led them to believe the old coils then needed to be replaced, so I paid for that (+$293) and when that didn't fix the error they suggested the new coils might be bad. Rather than bring it in a 3rd time, decided to take my car to Kings auto. Alan found the problem within a day and gave me new spark plugs (+394). I went back to Ryan the owner of NB auto and asked him if he'd be willing to make things right. Not only did they install faulty parts, but that also led to additional work that was unnecessary. He refused to refund me for anything beyond the spark plug parts and oil change -$160. If I never went to Kings auto for a second opinion I'd still have a check engine light and be paying more have the coils checked etc. Kings auto costs more, but nothing compared to paying for work you don't need. The owner Ryan prioritizes his bottom line over customers, which is his choice. As is mine not to go back.

I had them do a roto rebalance, they said no problems, I drive to Portland and back and the steering wheel shakes subtly the whole time so no improvement over before, and they also didn't rotate a single wheel, I can tell because of the scuffs on the rims that were there before, I call them and ask them to rebalance my wheels again and their manager said "tires are out of round." My tires were less than 5 years old and still had tens of thousands of miles left on them, so before I had them rebalanced I was worried that the wheels were bent, I made sure they were talking about the tires not the wheels and they needed another service to make sure because they didn't have a good enough note on that. I finally do get them rebalanced again they repeated the same thing, once the service was done I got a word from someone at the front desk that the center bores don't match because they are aftermarket wheels. The manager comes in and interrupts them, and says "tires are out of round" again, I ask them if they can mount a centering ring, essentially, they refused and told me that unless they were their wheels they weren't going to help. After the remounting, the balancing was fine. All they had to say was that it needs those center ring adapters the first time. The complete refusal to resolve or even at the bare minimum acknowledge a potential issue shows the lack of care for the customer. I think that the team that works here is very talented and wants to show kindness, but they are heavily bogged down by management. I'll give it 2 stars cause one of the techs complimented my car.
