It's not always possible to guarantee quality of parts. The unfortunate part is that error led them to believe the old coils then needed to be replaced, so I paid for that (+$293) and when that didn't fix the error they suggested the new coils might be bad. Rather than bring it in a 3rd time, decided to take my car to Kings auto. Alan found the problem within a day and gave me new spark plugs (+394). I went back to Ryan the owner of NB auto and asked him if he'd be willing to make things right. Not only did they install faulty parts, but that also led to additional work that was unnecessary. He refused to refund me for anything beyond the spark plug parts and oil change -$160. If I never went to Kings auto for a second opinion I'd still have a check engine light and be paying more have the coils checked etc. Kings auto costs more, but nothing compared to paying for work you don't need. The owner Ryan prioritizes his bottom line over customers, which is his choice. As is mine not to go back.

I don't mind a longer job, but misleading time estimates are unprofessional. 3. Unprofessional Communication: They left their Bluetooth car scanner in my vehicle and called me multiple times around 11 PM to retrieve it. I initially missed the calls (my phone was on Do Not Disturb), and when I saw their messages, they had a disrespectful tone--blaming me for their mistake because I had supposedly "rushed" them. (For the record, I only asked twice how much time was left, after they exceeded their own estimate.) 4. The Worst Part - Dangerous Negligence: Two days after the service, while driving on the freeway to Snoqualmie, my car began emitting smoke and a terrible smell. Upon checking, I discovered they had forgotten to put the engine oil cap back on. Oil had spilled everywhere, and my car became undrivable. Roadside assistance had to tow it to a service center, where I was informed that overheating had damaged a sensor. 5. Dishonest and Unreliable: I contacted them to explain what happened and requested reimbursement for the costs incurred due to their negligence ($1,036 total: $150 service refund, $194 for roadside assistance, and $692 for repairs). They initially agreed to pay by 3/1, then postponed to 3/6, claiming they needed to investigate a negative review (which wasn't mine--I even provided proof). Now, they've ghosted me since 3/5, despite reading my messages on Yelp. Bottom Line: Their negligence could have resulted in a serious accident, and their refusal to take responsibility speaks volumes. I wouldn't trust them with any vehicle. He had to do a couple of modifications to the new alternators mounting brackets and plastic coupling attachment for a wiring plug. He was great at the modifications and assured me they would not affect the performance of the new alternator. He put everything back perfectly that he had unplugged or unbolted, the only thing that went wrong was the little handle for my oil dipstick broke off while he was trying to get around in the right engine bay of my Acura, he told me what had happened, took responsibility for it and is getting me a replacement dipstick free of charge. I will definitely be using his services in the future. His prices are beyond reasonable and charged way less than any dealership or roadside service shop would. Great value for my hard earned money. I recommend him hands down.
