I needed an honest opinion about my suspension system. One mechanic quoted me $3,500 to $4,000 to repair it and a second mechanic stated nothing was wrong with it. A close friend of mine recommended Gary King of King's Quality Auto Repair to take a look at it. Although it was a 45 minute drive each way, an honest mechanic is like a diamond in the rough. Brought in our truck to be diagnosed. It had a brand new starter and a half decent engine. 5+ weeks later we finally get it back after paying $1,800. We still don't know what's wrong with it, our engine now has a fist size hole in it right behind the starter, which is also broken, we were charged more than his rate said online, and charged for work we never approved him to do. Gary came out to service our beefy Honda snowblower at our fairly remote location up at Snoqualmie Pass. It's difficult to move off location so the remote/mobile engine repair aspect was key. I am super pleased with his service. He communicated his timing up until the appointment and was responsive after a couple check ins and able to narrow in his window as the appointment came closer, via text. He arrived within 15 minutes of the specified time and got right to work. Prior to coming he requested the model number and make so he came prepared with everything necessary to service the machine. He has a large van packed with tools and accessed a number of tools throughout his service. While working he was amiable but focused and remained "on task" for the duration of his visit. When he arrived we had a barely functioning snowblower. When he left, the carburetor was clean, gas drained and replaced, new fuel, oil change - basically a full service tuned exactly to what we needed. He cleaned up after himself. While his rates were fair, we was even willing to work with us to make the overall job fit within a budget. I am very satisfied. I happily recommend Gary's services and will likely use again in the future. read more

After seeing all the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to get help in changing my O2 sensor (I had the part already and needed help getting under the car to change it). I decided to reach out to King's auto repair. Gary promptly quoted me $125 for the job and we scheduled time on Saturday morning at 9 am. He was delayed and finally arrived at 11.30 am (he did email me that he was running late). After about 30-40 min of trying he wasn't able to remove the old O2 sensor, and suggested I go to an auto shop to get it removed as they'd have a heat gun to loosen it. He referred me his friend's shop. In spite of not being able to do the job, he charged me the full price though. So between coming late for the appointment, not getting the job done, and charging me the full price for a job not done, I was obviously left quite disappointed. read more

Gary was nothing short of amazing. I was on my way to a weekend in chelan and my car started acting funny all of a sudden. I had it towed to Gary while I got picked up and went to my event. He was so kind and professional. Communication was great, he sent me pictures of what was happening with my car currently and then how it should look normally. He explained everything in great detail and spoke to me in a way that I could understand. Being that I'm a woman, I've been taken advantage of by mechanics many times and that wasn't the case here. Gary King is an outstanding mechanic and just an amazing guy! I called Gary King this last summer (Aug. 2017), after being referred to him by a friend, to see if he could install a new fuel pump in my 96 Chevy Blazer and he immediately said "Yes, no problem, I can do that." I was having a problem with coming up with the money to buy that part and explained to him that I was living in my car with my young son and it would be a few days until I got the money to pay him. He immediately told me to not worry about it and that he would buy the part and to just pay him back when I got paid. When it came time to work on my car he wasn't even worried about the money, just about helping me get back on the road. It all worked out in the end, it took him a few hours to install the fuel pump and he was gracious enough to tell me not to worry about the money. I ended up paying him for the job done and I was so grateful that he went out of his way to help me out in a bad situation. Then again this winter (Dec 2017) Gary reached out to me at a local food bank where he was volunteering his time and asked how my car was doing and told me that the way I was driving it (with a gas leak/exhaust leak) was very dangerous and that he very much wanted to help me fix it. I again explained to him that I did not have the means to work on my car right now and it would have to wait. He told me to not worry about it and that some people wanted to help me and my son and that with the power of God he was going to make it happen for us! Later that night Gary texted me and let me know that all the parts he needed to fix my car were bought and ready to go and he was going to spend Christmas Eve fixing my car for FREE!!! Instant tears of joy, relief, and gratefulness fell as my heart was experiencing a huge Christmas Miracle. Gary kept his word and on Christmas Eve this year he was out there in the blowing snow using his awesome skills to replace all the plugs and wires on my vehicle as well as the spider gas distributer thing. We talked a lot about blessings and how timing is everything. His words were very caring and inspiring and I could tell he was being very genuine. On top of everything he set up some shop time with another local mechanic so I could also get my muffler replaced! This man is more than a mechanic... He's a life saver, He's a... I don't know... an angel! It was truly an amazing experience and such a blessing to have found this guy and have him fix my car for nothing in return, but to pay it forward and pass on the love! read more
