Update: September 2025. Almost a year exactly, and less than 10k miles later I need brake pads and rotors again. I am not a heavy-braking driver. The brakes were consistently noisy, and I should have returned sooner to see if there was an issue, I'll own that piece. But I spent over $1300 for brake pads, rotors, and a battery, and now I'm having to spend $1100 to have the same brakes repaired. I do not want to return because I'm afraid it won't be done right a second time. $1300 is not an insignificant amount of money to just throw away. I contacted the shop to ask if a year was normal wear and to offer an opportunity to make it right, and I received a reply that he isn't at the shop anymore but does mobile repair service. I can't express how grateful I am to have crossed paths with Heydar. He is a skilled mechanic who's dedicated to getting to the heart of the issue that plagues your vehicle. I cancelled an appointment with a different mechanic when Heydar became available and couldn't be more satisfied. My 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 4Matic suffered from intermittent issues that other mechanics diagnosed as a bad Torque Converter requiring transmission replacement ($4000 job) to bad ECU requiring replacement ($2500+ job). Heydar arrived on time and with great attitude to work on my car which suffered from a Crank/No Start issue and towed to my home. He jumps in and the car starts right up and runs strong. He still ran a computer diagnosis which showed no codes and no clues to anything wrong. Being embarrassed for wasting his time I expected him to leave with his duties fulfilled. He took the time to speak with me about what the problems were and even offered to charge me less that the original price. I refused the discount being so grateful. Later that day I started the car and drove 3 blocks and it stalled in an intersection. I pushed it to the side of the road and felt totally alone with no idea on how to proceed. I text Heydar and he responded that he would return the next morning. When he returned he quickly ran a few test and we methodically discounted the transmission diagnosis and started to focus on the ECU as added a failed fuel pump to the mix. He left assuring me he would get to the bottom of it and I prepared myself for the expensive ECU replacement and finding a reputable shop that could reprogram the unit. Heydar contacted me again and wanted to run another couple of test. Mind you I was preparing for the ECU nightmare about to ensue. He arrive for the 3rd time and runs a few test that bypass the fuel pump and together we talk out the situation. Finally we discount the ECU replacement and focus on the fuel pump. I agreed we should replace the pump with the understanding that Mercedes are difficult cars to diagnose and that there would be a 15% chance it would not be the fuel pump. I had high hopes but expected the worse. On the forth visit with all the parts in hand Heydar gets to work on a hot/humid day. Within the time I ran to the store to get cold water I returned to a car running strong. I couldn't be happier.  My recommendation is to call Heydar... he has the willingness to talk things thru and consider your input, his willingness to come back multiple times until it is fixed and to methodically work thru what could be a thousand possible causes to get you back in the road. I did a SEARCH for somebody and found "German Auto Repair". I began reading the reviews and people spoke so highly of Haydar and his work, I thought let me give him a call. I called at 9:45ish on Saturday morning he answered (that was impressing because it's hard to reach most mechanics at that time especially on Saturday. He patiently listened to the reason for my call, asked me to provide him with some information and he would call me back. A few hours later (2-3 hours) he called me back a explained what the service included, in detail, and then scheduled my appointment and I mean it was within a few days (here again I'm impressed). He was even able to provide the numbers (price) for the work being done when he scheduled my appointment. I said to myself, "this Guy is about his work and I thank God I was lead to him". And it made me feel good to know that there are still folks out here who know and value "customer service". Come the day of my appointment, I head to the shop to have my car serviced. As soon as I arrived, He and his partner introduced themselves, asked me if I needed anything while I wait, directed me to where I could grab coffee or food, and then they took my car and got to work. There's nothing better than having a mechanic you can trust, and Haydar is that mechanic. I sought him out based on his great Yelp reviews, but when I got to his shop, I have to admit I was a little concerned by how small it was and the fact he shares it with another mechanic. But I met him and talked to him for a few minutes and he immediately offered to take my car for a test drive so he could experience its problem with acceleration. When we got back to the shop, he opened the hood and instantly diagnosed the issue (although, to be fair, it was pretty obvious the piece that controls the turbo function was worn out and came off). Over the weekend he sent me a written estimate for replacing that part and the rear brakes, and when I dropped the car off on Tuesday, he gave me a ride back to my house. Haydar did the work while I was in Puerto Rico, and a day or two after I dropped it off he texted me and let me know it was done. When I came back to Virginia he offered to pick me up from my house to get my car, but a friend of mine was able to do it. The car drove perfectly, and everything Haydar said he would do, he did. Like I said, nothing better than having a mechanic you can trust. One of the things about Haydar that made me trust him is the fact that he was an interpreter for the US military during the Iraq war. I spent a year in Afghanistan with the US Air Force and all the interpreters I worked with were incredibly trustworthy and they all ended up coming over to the US on interpreter visas, just as Haydar did. As someone who's worked on cars my entire life I can't tell you how much it pains me to pay someone to fix my vehicle... That being said, reaching out to Haydar was the best decision I could have made. I found myself in the unenviable position of transitioning between jobs having purchased a used Audi that more issues than I could have anticipated. I spoke to Haydar on a Thursday and he scheduled his initial visit on that Saturday at my convenience. Having a mechanic who is willing to work around your schedule from the comfort of your own home was such a relief given how busy thing are for me right now. When he arrived he took some time to go over a number of the issues that typically pop up with a vehicle as old as mine (2009) in addition to asking me about anything else I may have noticed in the time I'd spent driving it and came back to me with an estimate that most likely saved me half (if not more) of what a brick and mortar or dealership garage would have charged me. In addition to this he worked tirelessly with the warranty company and tried to have them cover as many of the issues as possible thus saving me even more. Haydar is outstanding. He is extremely fast in responding to requests and fitting me into his schedule. I have an old 1995 BMW that was having AC issues and starting to make a lot of noise under the hood. He was able to quickly identify that I needed a new AC compressor and drive belt. He did not have the machinery required to recover refrigerant while replacing the compressor, but he recommended me to a nearby shop that did, with detailed instructions and didn't charge for his visit. On my second call, with short notice Haydar came out in the cold rain to help me replace my battery and diagnose an issue with my windshield wiper arm. He battled the corroded metal of my old car and made sure everything was in good working order. I utilized Mr. Haydar again todo some more work on my car. I saw the quality work for such an affordable price. The quote was easily $700 dollars under other quotes almost a $1000 from dealer. He uses OEM parts only. He comes to you. So I can still work from home and have my car serviced. The things I highly appreciate: 1. Complete honesty. (He does not BS you and tells you as it is). 2. He goes the extra mile. I had a stripped screws on my fuel filter. He ended up taking care of that and replacing the fuel filter. (Free of charge!!). Other places would have charged me a few hundred. 3. His attention to detail. He is very meticulous. 4. He takes care of your car like it's his own. Cares about the long term health of the car. When other mechanics spill oil or jams/strip screws in knowing they will never see the customer again or they never check under the hood. 5. He goes the extra mile. He noticed things with my wheel bolts being stripped from over torquing. (Other places did the damage). He advised to get new lug bolts. He did not make any more money off me. But it was the right thing todo for my safety, car health, and prevent issues down the line. (Also free of charge) 6. He comes to you! Extremely convenient! 7. The previous mechanic (that I went to for over 10 years) told me that doing this would turn off the ABS light that came on earlier in the day. By far the best mechanic I've dealt with in my 20 years in the United States. I had an issue with my AC compressor that, after a bit of research, all it needed was the replacement of compressor control valve (a $50 part), I took the car to six other mechanics and all just wanted to replace the whole compressor (an $800 part) and not just the valve. When I talked to Haydar, he immediately responded, "that makes sense and it should be an easy job". After less than two hours of work the valve was replaced and my AC was working again like new. Haydar went above and beyond when it came to fixing my 2014 Range Rover Evoque that would not start. I didn't want to get it towed so I reached out to him to see if he could take a look at it. He was honest and told me that he didn't work on Range Rovers typically but was willing to try to fix it. He was extremely dedicated to figuring out the problem to the point that I left my keys with him for a month to constantly go back and forth from Alexandria to DC in order to figure out what was wrong.
