I love ordering food from the meat counter. They have a fantastic array of sausages which make a great alternative to the usual hot dogs. I haven't ordered sandwiches there, but the deli meats all look fresh and appetizing. I love their fresh bread too. Bread is baked fresh daily and will actually get stale a few days later (unlike the preservative laden stuff you get at the grocery store). If authentic german sausages are what you're after, this is the place to go. The ladies there will even tell you how to boil them before grilling for the best texture/flavor. read more

We stumbled upon this gem while searching for a local deli. What a boon! Aggi took our order of 2 sandwiches, 2 pastries, and 2 coffees. The sausage and sauerkraut sandwich was super yummy and reminded me of Germany. The cold cut sandwich was also good, very generously portioned. Favorite bauernbrot around and love the selection of deli meats. The blonde German lady who works here is always so friendly and nice, but really I haven't ever had bad service here. I only wish they employed more Germans, so they can answer questions about the products they sell. This is a regular stop for me. The village it is in is so charming. I'm surprised it doesn't get more traffic. It's always a ghost town, except for the market. If you haven't already, check this out! Locating in the old world German Plaza, the bakery is conveniently locating next to the restaurant inside the Plaza. The bakery has a lot of different breads and a few selection of cakes. I tried their bread dinner roll it was a little bit dry. But as for the princess cake , it was really good actually , and $2 for the pound cake it was very good as well .You should definitely check it out. read more

I go to the little deli/store at least 4 or 5 times a year. I lived in Germany for 2 years, and I get a chance to practice my german there. This is the only place that I've found authentic German bratwurst and weisswurst. I usually pick up a dozen or so to cook for a few months. Roseanna was great to work with, a true brides dream. Although a naked cake with fresh berries isn't a traditional choice as a wedding cake she sure did make sure it had a traditionally special element. It was simply delicious, with four layers and the hit of the wedding. My husband and I stopped by weeks after the wedding and even reordered the cake (in a smaller version) to enjoy all over again. Our guests rant and raved about the deliciousness of the cake which is what I hoped for when I had originally envisioned my cake. I bought the German burnt walnut cake. Was super sweet and small. Cost $17 which is not a lot but to end up with a cake that you can't even enjoy is something. Don't buy this cake. The store is fine to shop in but the bakery leaves a lot to be desired. The attendants are not that friendly. read more

Great fun place. Apple strudel is some of the best. Bar is cozy with European sports on tv. They moved the restaurant into the banquet area which is disappointing. The restaurant had a home lodge style atmosphere. Now it's a gift area. Not as many German staff anymore which takes away from the atmosphere. read more

Funny moment when a guy gave us our items and told us to go to the front counter to pay- followed by him walking to the front counter to take they money I had already offered him at the first place. Having grown up in Germany I have, of course, checked out every German Deli in LA and the OC. This deli is, by far, the best of what's left. The fleischsalat is the best ever...light, refreshing, even a bit delicate. Hard to do with a meat salad and since it's hubby's favorite, it's always on the shopping list. read more

The bakery/deli section of Euro Market had the best darn apple turnover I've ever had in the USA. It's not commercialized/chemicalized with overpowering sweet glazes and coloring but just naturally down home good without being over sweetened. It was hot and fresh when I got it. I hope to come back and try some of the other deli pastries. Their service was friendly and prices were decent $1.25 for the turnover. There are also other genuine Euro goods in the market. As a fatty, I always crave carbs and love myself some breads and cakes. Luckily this deli has everything you want/need/don't need but still want to try. I love the pretzels and breads, and the cakes are to die for (Bienenstich, Sachertorte, basically all their ish is amazing). They have the basic necessities a German can't live without (meats, mustards, chocolates, cookies, wine, beer,....) and chatting with the owners in your mother tongue is a nice feature which makes me like this place even more. Concerning the prices for many items.. please don't expect it to be as cheap as your big chain grocery store you hit up all the time, after all this is a deli with imported specialties lol. The staff here is very friendly in my honest opinion, but for all the soft sided people who think the staff is rude (or maybe Germans in general lol) I would like to say this.. wait until you go to Germany and you will have to redefine the word "rude" (we like to call this "gesunde Härte" which basically means we don't mind playing rough). Most people I have met since I moved to the US are used to getting their asses kissed just because they have dollars to spend but for Germans this is a feature that is not part of the initial package and we have no ambition to learn how to correctly kiss an ass... so suck it up, princess! read more

i came in wanting to love the place but i couldn't really get myself to. i ordered the cold cut special with soup, the soup was cream of broccoli. the cold cut contained german cold cuts but i couldn't really tell the difference. the sandwich wasn't very memorable the only thing that stood out was the crust of the rye bread which was pretty good. the soup was something you would expect from a cafeteria and now that i think of it the sandwich too. i decided to buy some dry sausages i got the hot and spicy and the hungarian hard. when i got home i sampled the two, one of them is pretty good while the other is so so. i would like to tell you which one was pretty good but they printed out hungarian hard labels for both of them.. read more

I had asked about 9 cake bakeries if they could make a 14 inch rainbow design themed cake for our great niece Ella's first birthday. 5 out of the 8 cake bakeries could not make it in the 2 week timeframe and ALL the cake bakeries were ridiculously overpriced! I decided to make contact with Euro Market Bakery and Deli in Old World . The cake consultant/manager Roseanna Mahler promptly responded to my email cake request and said they could make this cake. I met with Roseanna to finalize my order. She was very pleasant and patient with me. I couldn't believe they agreed to make the cake in the short time frame and charge me a very affordable price!! The cake was 3 layers high and beautifully decorated. It was amazing! Even better, it tasted great!! The cake put a big happy smile on Ella and all the guests at her party. We have been coming to this bakery for years, it's the best! We LOVE the pastries. The cream horns are to die for. They don't make them all the time, usually on weekends, and sometimes no t even then. Or they sell out really fast. You can order them for Saturday or Sunday, just give them a few days notice. The Berliners are also a favorite. A jelly doughnut rolled in sugar. There are many other crispy or fruit filled creations to savor. There are cakes and breads too. This place is a must. read more

I am German and very fussy about authentic food. This is the best place I found in Orange County. The Rouladen dish and Wiener Schnitzel are excellent. I also shop at the Deli for sausages to take for BBQs. The Nuernberger and Polish are my favorites. You can find lots of German products that are totally overpriced. Half of the stuff I can get at Albertson's and other stores like Aldi and Trader Joe's, or online, fresher and cheaper. I tried the restaurant once a while back and I must say that I can cook German food way better and tastier! What I disliked most, was the old and stuffy atmosphere! The market smelled like "mop water" and old German "Schlager", hits from the 70's I believe, were playing in he background, yikes! I was hoping to buy German cold meats, but the deli did not look as clean as it should have, and the meats looked as if they had been laying around for quite a while. I migrated from Germany over a decade ago and would have expected a brighter and cleaner place, "representing Old World Germany". The staff was also "typical German", who make you feel as if they are doing you a favor, or they have some weird small talk going. Yep, they are not known for customer service! - I am usually fair and honest when it comes to reviews. I like to give good reviews, if I like something, the 85 Degree Asian Bakery for example!
