    Not a fan. Bland.

Not a fan of these. I got a beef one and italian one and even with all the gravy, i found these super bland and flavorless! I know these are different than kolahces but the kolaches are sooo much better! The beef and italian tasted very similar for me. The gravy didnt help. I threw the rest of these away. Not good.

...hard to make the call, but when you expand a business "too quickly", it sometimes doesn't work out as planned. Didn't eat anything substantial yesterday at work because I didn't do a meal prep over the weekend, so I basically snacked on junk food till I decided to get a Pasty pie on my way home. I even made a U-turn because I noticed this place was (back) open. The sign said "RE-OPENING" and I had seen it there, but hadn't noticed that it was open for an entire year before shutting down. Went in, happened to meet the owner, so he told me the story that they had been open in HB for a year and didn't do well at all... so he closed the doors. The owner of the mini mall asked him to reopen on a part time basis and together they brain-stormed to try again to make it work. AFTER ALL, when the OG location in Los Alamitos has been open for SIXTY THREE years and have a 4.3 Yelp rating, they obviously know how to run a business..... BUT YOU NEED CUSTOMERS! So, I took a few snaps and bought one pasty pie today because he had a new flavor, Corned Beef & Cabbage. He told me no gravy was required because it had enough flavor on it's own. I'm a little sensitive to "salt", so it was a bit too salty for me, IMO. If you've ever tried the Pasty Kitchen in Los Al or Cerritos and are a fan, PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL and give the HB store a visit. They also have amazing looking pastries & salads. Corned Beef & Cabbage $5.50

Pasty Kitchen has opened on Bolsa Chica. We selected the 6-pack Hot Box ($29.70) that comes with 6 small pasties and 2 large gravies. We did half and half beef and chicken. Regular price on small beef or chicken pasties is $4.95 each so you're basically getting free gravy. We chose beef and chicken for the 2 large sauces. We also tried out a Bratwurst & Sauerkraut pasty ($5.50) and Corned Beef & Cabbage ($5.50). It was recommended that we buy a mustard sauce ($1.50) to accompany the Bratwurst (?) maybe it was for the Corned Beef? It would have been nice to try some of the fruit pasties but they were completely out, only cookies in stock so we passed. First off, all the pasties tasted very similar to us, regardless of type. But of the 4, the beef was definitely the best tasting. And of the two sauces, the beef was better over the chicken, more flavorful. The pasties were very filling and hearty due to all the potatoes. There's only two of us so we had pasties for days. The staff here is exceptionally nice, recognized us as first-timers, told us how to eat the pasties, made suggestions. The location is an ordering counter and display cases, so the ambiance is simple and friendly. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back unless we have visitors who want to try it.

So excited to finally try this spot! I ordered a small beef pasty, small vegetable pasty, macaroni salad, and peach turnover. They asked is I want beef gravy to go with the pasty, so ordered that too. Everything is ordered to go, so I couldn't wait to get home and try everything. The beef pasty had carrots and potatoes with it. It was really good and quite filling. The veggie one was loaded with zucchini and broccoli and other veggies too. It was really good as well! The gravy was amazing! Totally recommend adding it to your order. The peach turnover was also delicious. Every last bite was consumed. The Mac salad was good, but I got so full from everything I don't know that I needed it. The employees were really nice and we chatted a bit. It's super clean inside. A small little spot. I like that they have a few designated parking spots. I will definitely return.

We go to the joint next door pretty frequently and saw this little place. Located where the pizza place used to be. Tiny, bare bones location. Friendly greeting upon entering and we were given a good explanation of things. Ok. I got the large beef pasty. So, when you hear the word "pasty," it conjures up images of dainty-ness, delicateness. At least for me, anyway. Quite the contrary. Like a huge, hulking body builder named Lawrence, this pasty was significant despite its name. It's a full meal with every food group represented...aside from throwing in an apple or something. Got a side of beef gravy with it. Because, why not? I've never turned down a gravy offer. It was solid. Filling is beef, spuds, carrots, onions, etc. gravy was nice. I ate the whole thing. Pastry that encases the entire job was good, flaky. It's like a hand held shepherd's pie. Simple, hearty food. Next time, we'll try the fruit filled options. Give it a go mate.

Small , tiny stores in the Huntington Beach for to go only. (No tables) The pie corner beef was okay ( potatoes more than corner beef) Service nice help.

I love this place! The pies are so good and affordably priced. I hope this place sticks around like the one in Los Alamitos!

Every time I saw the sign, I figured it was either a typo or some food I'd somehow made it through life without encountering. One day curiosity finally got the better of me, so I stopped in to investigate. As it turns out, a pasty is basically a handheld meat pie, originally from Cornwall, England. Think of it as a burrito's British cousin who went to boarding school. I was hungry, the place smelled good, and I figured this was my moment. I ordered a beef pasty. They offer beef and chicken, and the beef one was pretty decent. Tasty enough, filling, and easy to eat on the go. Was it life-changing? No. Did I immediately start planning my move to Cornwall? Also no. But it was good. A few months later, I found myself in the area again and decided to give them a second shot. This time I ordered the chicken pasty and a side of potato salad. Unfortunately, the chicken pasty just didn't do it for me. It wasn't bad, and I certainly wouldn't call it inedible, but it felt like the seasoning department had taken the day off. I kept waiting for some flavor to show up, but it never really clocked in. The potato salad was kind of the same story. Perfectly edible, completely harmless, and unlikely to offend anyone. It also wasn't particularly memorable. If someone served it to me at a family picnic, I'd eat it. If someone asked me what I thought about it ten minutes later, I'd struggle to remember it existed. Now, I realize I'm sounding critical, but that's only because I'm a bit of a food snob. My philosophy is that if you're going to put something on the menu--especially when the menu is fairly small--every item should be trying out for the varsity team, not just showing up for attendance. That said, the people working there were friendly, service was quick, and the place seems to have a loyal following. My experience was basically this: the beef pasty was pretty good, the chicken pasty was forgettable, the potato salad was there, and everyone was nice. Would I stop again? Maybe for the beef pasty. But if I do, I'll probably leave the potato salad to those who enjoy living dangerously.

It's not a far departure…read morefrom foods of other cultures around the locality, but you'll notice differences between British and American English, for example. Many of their dishes include chips, which during my visit, resembled steak fries due to their thickness. You'll also see that curry is a signature dish in the menu, which reflects how Anglo-Indian cuisine has maintained popular influence in the United Kingdom. I ordered Cutty Sark's curry with chicken, rice, and chips at medium spice. The name is derived from a British merchant vessel that operated during the late 1800s. The curry had a mix of savory and sweet flavors, which reminded me of both Japanese and Indian cuisines at the same time. I couldn't say with certainty that the curry fit into just one cuisine. Packed with some heat and bold in spice, it's a delightful and large dish if you desire a lot of flavor. Where the curry went a little off course was the addition of celery. The petiole is strongly flavored and distracts from the curry in my perhaps controversial opinion. Curry seems to better mix with potatoes and carrots. I tried some of the bacon sarnie as well. The word "sarnie" is an affectionate diminutive for "sandwich." American bacon usually comes from pork belly, which provides a flavorful yet oily crispiness. However, the British variant usually comes from the loin, which is meatier and leaner. I thought of the bacon here as similar to a savory ham. The sarnie bread is fried in fat to emphasize buttery flavor. The restaurant, filled with English decorations, has the style of a cozy and dim pub. There's a good amount of small wooden booths with cracked leather seating. Our server was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed despite the busyness of the restaurant. For example, my curry came with a chutney, and I had asked for a lid to take it home. While I forgot to take the chutney home, she went outside as she noticed that we took the back exit to look at their double-decker bus. She even offered to take a picture of us. The service deserves a lot of kudos, and we were grateful for her consideration.

After burning a few calories, we were more than ready to put them all right back. Upon entering, we stood at the front for about a minute before being acknowledged and shown to a booth. Not exactly a dramatic wait, but just enough time for me to start wondering whether we'd accidentally wandered into a museum exhibit instead of a restaurant. And honestly, that wouldn't have been the worst thing. The décor here is fantastic. While waiting, I found myself admiring all the details and soaking in the atmosphere. It genuinely felt like we'd stepped into another country without the hassle of passports, customs, or a 10-hour flight. Having never been to a British pub before, I was excited to experience something different. We were seated in a cozy leather booth that looked straight out of a vintage European train car. "Cozy" is definitely the operative word here. If you're dining with someone, prepare for the possibility of an accidental knee-to-knee alliance. It wasn't an issue for us, but taller guests might find themselves wishing for just a few more inches of legroom. For our meals, I went with one of their signature dishes, the fish and chips, while my girlfriend ordered the seafood platter. Looking to start things off properly, we asked our server for an appetizer recommendation. He suggested the chips with curry sauce, which sounded great at the time. What we didn't realize was that our entrées were already arriving with enough fries to sustain a small village. When the food landed, we suddenly found ourselves in possession of what felt like the restaurant's entire potato inventory. The curry sauce itself was tasty, but in hindsight, something like the garlic mushrooms or vegetarian samosas might have given us a little more variety. I ordered the two-piece cod fish and chips, which came with a mountain of steak fries and a tiny scoop of coleslaw that looked like it had wandered onto the plate by mistake. The fish was good, but the portion was impressively hearty. I made it about halfway through before my body politely informed me that further eating would require a nap. The curry sauce was enjoyable, though not quite the life-changing experience I'd secretly hoped for. The real MVP was our server, who remained friendly and attentive throughout the meal despite looking like he was covering half the restaurant by himself. He checked in regularly and did a great job taking care of us. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of the visit. Between the immersive décor, cozy pub vibes, and generous portions, it was a fun and memorable experience. Just be warned: if you order fries as an appetizer, make sure you're prepared to commit to a serious relationship with potatoes.

They gave me a beeper, and I was able to find a nearby table without any trouble. I ordered the Fish N Chips, which was a generous portion. It came with two large pieces of fish that were nicely fried. The batter wasn't too thick, and the fish itself was tender rather than overly flaky or hard. The texture and overall quality were good, but it was a bit lacking in flavor, even with malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The steak fries were crispy and not overly salty, which I enjoyed. Overall, the meal was average. With limited fish and chip options nearby, it's still a decent choice if you're in the area and craving it.

Not a five-course meal. Then we waited OVER AN HOUR for finger sandwiches that tasted like cafeteria scraps. Most of the food was genuinely awful. The only remotely edible items were the tomato soup, cucumber/egg sandwich, and chicken quiche -- except the quiche wasn't even included and cost an extra $22, which is insane for a place already charging premium prices for mediocrity. The "egg sandwich" was basically stale yellow bread with microscopic traces of egg. And whoever decided HAM AND BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE belonged in a finger sandwich needs to be fired immediately. Even the table decor looked terrible. Every table had random mismatched pieces from different sets instead of a cohesive theme, so the whole place just felt cluttered, lazy, and disorganized. Nothing about this experience felt charming or intentional. I waited over an hour to eat garbage in a room that smelled like dust and neglect. Absolutely do not recommend. I wasn't paying, but the experience costed over $100 (including $60 from a groupon).

And not just because it has longevity, there's a reason that it has sustained power. This place is probably one of the most authentic Irish pubs I've been to. Having been to Ireland. I can attest that this is right there with a standard pub in a small town. Which makes it wonderful. The people that run the place, especially Paul, is one of the reasons why I keep coming back here. He's personable, funny, and no-nonsense right. I like his way of thinking and his approach to customer service a second to none. Now let's talk about the food and drinks. From a drink standpoint. You cannot go wrong with this place, the drinks are thoughtfully made, this guy knows how to pour a beer. As far as food goes. I highly recommend the beefeater sandwich, and you cannot go wrong with the chicken wings. Some of the best wings I've had ever. Friday and Saturday nights is usually popping pretty hard when they have bands playing. So, good luck trying to find a seat anywhere in the place. When there is an event that night. You will have to get there early for sure. The bottom line? This is a go-to hangout. If you are looking for a good watering hole to meet people, just hang out and have a good time, or watch a game on the big screen TVs.
