My team went here on our lunch break; a party of 5. It took a while to be greeted or see a hostess/waitress when we first walked in, so we sat ourselves. Once we did have a waitress; things went smooth and she was lovely. I had the vegan wings made from oyster mushrooms, tossed in trifecta sauce, a side of the vegan mac and cheese, and onion rings. All delicious! The mushrooms were fried, perfectly, crisp, and held the sauce well. The trifecta sauce is tasty and I highly recommend it. The cashew-base vegan Mac was pretty good and I let a few others taste, and they agreed. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals and were happy we decided on this place. Two others had the catfish nuggets and said they were perfectly cooked and tasty, one coworker had the quarter legs and she cleaned the bones. In another season of life, I probably would've lived at this spot. Great food, drink specials, sports, and vibes? The only reason we don't spend more time here is because we have a young family. That said, we still order out and occasionally stop in. As far as the food goes, I've never been disappointed. Typically, I get the smoked leg quarters which are pretty solid. Nothing flashy but I'd say a good quality option at a great price point, especially during happy hour. This most recent time was my first go round with their wings. I got the Nashville Hot and ordered the Trifecta for my dad. Both were fried really well, nice crisp outside while still having a juicy interior. The trifecta sauce was great, Nashville Hot dry rub was ok. Personally, I would have appreciated some heat but there really wasn't any. Still, them being fried well didn't leave me disappointed and the flavor was ok. While we didn't get them this time around, we've had the pub chips with grilled chicken and really enjoyed them. Food took a while to come out but wings were hot, the ranch was fresh, and serving size was huge. Other than being huge, the wings weren't anything special IMO. I have now eaten at this place twice and had two very different experiences. The first time I ate there (about 4 months ago) I got there vegan wings with the trifecta sauce and it was absolutely life changing amazing. Today I decided to stop here on my roadtrip back home and was very disappointed. I ordered the exact same thing as last time and for some reason my wings came out WAY overcooked and burnt. I'm not sure if it was a new chef or just a different chef, but I hope they see this and can try and correct what happened for the future. There often aren't enough servers to keep up with the demand. On a Sunday Night (football games on), there was 1 server. This impacted the overall experience. The bad: Always check your receipt here. Our server tried to sneak an extra tip on the receipt. His name is Jonathan. After we paid with our card, the tip screen popped up. He took it away, pressed a couple things, then handed it back to us with a custom tip screen. We left a pretty generous tip, but what we found out afterward was he had selected 20% tip without telling us, then selected the "Add additional tip" and handed it back to us. When we brought it up to him, he played dumb and said the other tip was "for the house." The menu states that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to every bill for parties of six or more, but there were only five of us. The good: the shadiness aside, the server was nice and the food was delicious. We went to happy hour and they had great deals on food and drinks. It's a shame the server tried to swindle us. This bar used to look really new in 2017 while the staff used to seem very experienced like they had been doing it for years. Tall boy cans seem to be the order of the day here and they have tall boys for beers I have never seen tall boys for before. The bartenders were really great, friendly, attentive, provided fast service and remembered my name every time I ordered. They have a small little patio on the side that was mostly filled with the smokers. This seems to be more of a sports bar vibe than anything else and they also have a decent menu and I've sampled some of the food and it is alright but there are way better options in the area these days. The parking lot is a bit small and often is full but it is usually easy to find street parking a block or so away. Overall this used to be a cool little spot to enjoy some sports. Back during my first few visits in 2017 I got the impression here that the staff were really nice folks and the bar offered fair prices and provided a nice comfortable venue so it was just a good spot to be if you were in the area. In the years since my first visit this bar just kept being less enjoyable to me. I used to always make sure to pay a visit to the Germantown Pub during every visit I made to Nashville but now I find it just isn't a place I want to stop at anymore as all the friendly bartenders seem to have left. The bites are amazing juicy, seasoned with a dry lemon pepper mixture and fried to perfection. The tartar sauce that's paired with them has just got to be made from scratch. I could drown in it. My only drawback is that the portion size left me unsatisfied. This has been consistent so far. Could definitely be an appetizer portion as I got more fries than fish. I've opted for sweet potato fries both of my visits. I wish they had the creamy sweet sauce for them, but ketchup does the trick. Service was great for the influx of people being taken care of. Germantown Pub is one of our favorite casual places to go in Nashville. We stopped for a drink after the Farmer's Market, sat at the bar, didn't know if we were hungry. Devohn was our bartender - top notch! I tried a Cumberland Cooler - gin, elderflower, cucumber, lime and simple syrup. Not what I expected as to taste but so refershing and satisfying. Decided to get a couple apps - the Pub chips with chicken and avacado and some Fiesta poppers. So much food, we packed up enough to eat for dinner! Chicken wasn't really "hot", more like they sprinkled a little spice on it after cooking. There was a lot of chicken which was nice. A lot of it was just the crispy part though. This place has such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This is definitely a place for locals. I think I just found my new favorite hideout in Nashville. This place is a seat yourself type of place. I came around 7pm on a Friday with a couple of people and was able to easily find a table to seat 7 people. The food was delicious, the drinks were strong, and the service was fast. I had the catfish nuggets and onion rings, which I'm craving again as I type this. You also can't go wrong with the smurf frozen drink! I couldn't recommend this place more!
