The first thing you notice when you walk in is not a smiling human but five glowing touchscreens waiting to take your order. They are tall and unblinking. They do not know your name or care about your childhood. I picked the Seasonal Stir-Fry, the Chesapeake Crab Stir-Fry. Egg white noodles. Crab with Old Bay seasoning. Bell peppers. Red onions. Scallions. Parsley. Seasoned breadcrumbs. Old Bay sauce. I swapped the grape tomatoes for mushrooms. I also ordered a bottle of Mexican Coke. Cane sugar as God intended. It felt almost rebellious to drink something that tasted like the 20th century. The place was nearly empty when I walked in, but within five minutes it was buzzing. Three line cooks moved like their feet were on fire. A young woman at the front kept the chaos civilized, sliding bags onto shelves and trays into hands with the calm of someone who has seen worse days. She was very good at her job. My order arrived hot enough to make my glasses fog. The crab was all body meat, none of the prized claw, but there was plenty of it. Sometimes quantity has a quality all it's own. The Old Bay gave a mild sting on the tongue and reminded me that flavor is sometimes about memory as much as ingredients. The napkins had a word search, a maze, and a spot-the-difference game on the backs. I did not touch them. I admired the idea though. It was a neat way to keep kids or bored adults occupied without wasting paper on disposable menus, flyers or tray covers. The meal and soda cost just under twenty dollars with tip. That is a little high for noodles and crab from a fast casual joint, but these are the days we are living in. Absolutely horrible food. It was so sweet it was inedible. The red coconut "curry" was like a cotton candy flavored sauce mixed into overcooked noodles. My wife got the turkey meatballs on rice, which was just cheap frozen meatballs added to plain rice along with another incredibly oversweet sauce on top. Honestly even McDonalds is a better option than this place. If you really want healthy and food that tastes good, try something like Dig Inn, Cava, Sweetgreen, etc. read more

The restaurant has a very clean and modern aesthetic with some colorful wall art to spice it up. All ordering is placed on tablets (think Wawa or Quikchek). Outdoor seating was available. Both the indoor and outdoor dining areas were kept clean and maintained by the employees. I appreciated that outdoors they did not play any music, as their neighbors had loud enough music that any more would have been a headache. I ordered two noodle bowls, one with the Sesame Ginger sauce and Steak (picture one) and the other with the Five Spice Sweet Soy sauce and Tofu (picture two). Both bowls were extremely flavorful and satisfying. I would say the prices ($11 for tofu, $13 for steak) were easily justified. That being said, I am only rating three stars because I ordered and paid a premium for two extra toppings: broccoli and green onions. My bowl (second pic) had 2 pieces of broccoli in it and 0 green onions. The tofu, which was my protein of choice, was tiny and sparse, especially in comparison to the amount of steak loaded into my other prowl (first pic). All in all, the restaurant was nice. If my bowls had been better filled this would easily have been a 5 star experience. Despite the skimpy toppings, I will be sure to return and try something new! read more

I was hoping Honeygrow would be quick serve restaurant my son with allergies to wheat/gluten, egg, sesame, tree nuts, and shellfish could eat at. Based on the menu it was very promising. They have the ingredients labeled and many gluten free options. Unfortunately there was no human contact option for ordering. It is all done via a kiosk so there is no way to explain food allergies or discuss potential cross contamination. So I couldn't order dinner for my son and instead ordered from Mission BBQ next door where you order from a person and have the ability of to discuss food allergies and if the food is safe for my son. The food I ordered for my wife and myself was very good but it was a real bummer that I couldn't order from a person to ensure the dish was prepared safely for my son who suffers from life-threatening allergies. I did speak to someone after I got my order (it was packed and they were frantically making orders as fast as they could). She told me after I place an order I can get someone's attention and tell them about the allergies and they prepare the order in a separate area, change gloves, and clean the wok. So next time when it is less busy I'll give it a try for my son. read more

I am in town for work and saw Honeygrow across the street from my hotel. I placed my order online which was quick and easy. The spicy garlic noodles were very tasty. It's a nice combination of veggies with a little sweet thrown in with the pineapple. Overall a great combination of flavors. While the name of the dish is spicy garlic it falls in the mild to medium spice level so don't worry if you are not a fan of spicy food. The service at the time of pickup was super friendly. Everything is cooked to order so the food temperature is excellent. The woman packaging the food or calling out names for those eating in was pleasant and happy with everyone. She was hustling but seemed to be enjoying herself. The portion size was good and more than I could eat in one sitting. I ordered a side of focaccia bread which was a bit dry and didn't seem fresh. I just want to update my review that I slipped and almost fell here today upon walking in. There is no rug when you walk in and the floor was soaking wet from the rain outside. Mind you I was wearing waterproof boots with a thick sole and still slipped. Take note of the water on the floor. I highly suggest for them to put a rug at the entrance to avoid slips and falls. This is the second time I've been here. It's designed like a fast casual spot and you order on touch screens. They were not very busy at all, but it still took 18 minutes to get one salad and one stir fry. So it may look like fast casual dining, but it's not. My mom enjoyed her salad (i think it's called make it grain) and i created my own stir fry which was very good. The first time i came here i got the same thing, and the broccoli pieces were very tiny, along with barely any tofu and carrots. This time was a lot better with a higher vegatable to noodle ratio. It was maybe 20:80, and last time it was 10:90. I'd still prefer them to be heavier handed with the veggies and proteins as we pay extra to add them, but ‍, it's still good food though. We also dined in this time, but it was given to us in to go containers. I know some people mind that but we didn't. read more

My husband orders $28 dollar salads while I have pasta stir fry. I get the same thing every time. It's hard to find anyone who sells whole wheat pasta. I never really have issue but there is two things to be aware of : You will wait a while in the location. It isn't fast food so get that our your mind. That is why we just sit here and eat every time. Hell bring ya lap top or charge your phone. (Outlets are available) There is a difference between to go and Here. I really had high hopes for this place. When they were building it, I looked up their site and was so excited to have another make your own salad place so close to home. After a long day of food shopping, I couldn't fathom the thought of having to cook dinner. Since this place is open until 10pm, I was so excited to be able to fit it into my day. When I arrived at 9:30pm, all the chairs were flipped up onto the table, and the people that fill the orders had begun to put all of the serving tongs and spoons into one dirty dish basin as I was using the screen to place my order. With my order placed, one of the guys decided to reach into the dirty dishes basin to pull out a spoon to place my order. I quickly stopped him and told him that I am allergic to carrots (which I am, but even if I wasn't once utensils are dropped into a dirty basin, they should NOT be pulled out and reused prior to getting washed). So these guys filled my order with liquifying spinach leaves, brown Romaine, and fresh arugula, they then proceeded to add my toppings into the plastic to go container. They didn't use the big large silver mixing bowls in the corner to mix the salad evenly, they didn't ask me if I wanted any salt and pepper, they pretty much just stuffed everything into the bowl and sealed it up and sent me on my merry way. It wasn't a big deal to me that they didn't mix my salad because I planned to go home and eat it, but had I wanted to eat this on the go, I wouldn't have been able to because it was layered into this compressed container and needed to still be mixed. When I got home and began to mix my salad, I was so disappointed when I saw the spoiled spinach and the reddish-brown Romaine....I ended up picking out all the rotten leaves and dipped into the spring mix that I had gotten food shopping earlier.
