Bartenders were so great and friendly. Explaining what the drinks are and even giving us little samples. We tried a marg sample and it was SO good! The best drink we tried but all the drinks were beautiful and creative. The speakeasy is hidden and small. Its dark atmosphere and fun ceiling lights really make it fun. It was pretty crowded for the small space. They almost need a door man to regular how many people go in at a time.
"Hidden" away in the Cosmopolitan, Ghost Donkey is not the typical seating only speakeasy environment I've seen elsewhere. However, it leans into the speakeasy vibes and is a fun place to chill for a fancy cocktail. Prices are in line with the rest of Vegas, however, the quality of the drinks are far better. As such, you get a better value and overall experience imo! You'll need to keep an eye out of the Donkey on the exit door in the 2nd floor food court to find it. Once inside, grab whatever spot you can or stand to order. Enjoy!
Ghost Donkey is one of several speakeasies inside The Cosmopolitan. The entrance is hidden in the food court with the only markings being a picture of a donkey on an exit door. It is definitely a small space with about ten seats at the bar. There are also two small lounge areas in each corner of the space with padded bench seating that can squeeze in another 10 to 12 people in each spot. We arrived around 8pm on a Wednesday night, and there was only one seat available at the bar. Luckily, two people next to the open spot left about five minutes later, so we were both able to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is fun and lively with interesting décor. It is a tequila/mezcal focused bar with most of the cocktails containing at least one of those two spirits. Many of the drinks do have other spirits mixed in as well. They have a huge list of tequila and mezcal if straight pours are your fancy. We sat next to a friendly couple who live locally. He is a huge tequila lover, and said they come here often because they have the best selection and by far the best prices for straight pours anywhere in the area. I had the Frida & The Watermelon Sour (Vago Espadin, Manzanilla Sherry, Batiste Silver Agricole Rhum, Organic Agave, Lime, Watermelon, Watermelon Foam, Tajin, $20). This was a great balanced cocktail with the perfect amount of smokiness from the mezcal. It had a nice light watermelon flavor with some complexity and subtle booziness from the three liquors. The watermelon foam was a fun topping, and the tajin sprinkle on the foam added a flavor kick to it. She had the Burro Tropical (Volcan Blanco Tequila, Banks 5-Island Rum, Passion Fruit, Lemon, Fever Tree Ginger Beer, Club Soda, $20). It was passion fruit forward, but still pretty balanced. The soda bubbles and ginger beer definitely made it an interesting cocktail (in a good way). It also comes with a cool donkey souvenir on top to take home. Our bartender made a Lavender Vida Loca cocktail for the couple next to us, and there was some left over that he let us sample. It was really good with a beautiful color. We had one more bar to visit after this, so we only had one round, but I would definitely order that next time. I didn't catch our bartender's name, but he's the guy with the big beard. He was very fun and friendly, even though his shift was ending in five minutes. They also have a good menu of food munchies including various types of nachos and tacos, chips and guacamole, queso fundido, oysters, and churros. We visited right after dinner so we passed on food. The cocktails were great and only $20 each. We visited other bars on this trip that charged $25 or more for drinks that weren't nearly as good. We will definitely visit again on our next trip.
Ghost Donkey is a hidden speakeasy located inside The Cosmopolitan. Tucked away behind a subtle door in the food hall, it's easy to miss, but that's part of the appeal. Inside, the vibe is fun and intimate with colorful lights, mirrors, and a high-energy feel. The drinks are the highlight, which are strong and well-crafted. The truffle nachos are also a must if you want something to share. It's definitely a small space, so it can get crowded quickly and finding it the first time can be a bit of an adventure. But overall, it's a unique, lively spot that's perfect for a pregame or a couple of drinks before heading out.
I had no idea that the Cosmopolitan had so many speakeasies all these years, but when I found out, I was determined to check at least one out, and Ghost Donkey ended up being my first! The speakeasy itself is tucked away in the food court area and the entrance is a door with a donkey on it with an exit sign above it. If you're not looking for it and don't know about it, you'll definitely miss it because I have unknowingly passed by it before. The place itself is tiny and it may be hard to find a place to sit or stand but is so decorated and festive. It's definitely a vibe when you enter and it was wild to me how the ambiance immediately shifted when you opened the door. It is a Mexican themed bar so there's a variety of Mexican themed drinks and bar food. I didn't have anything here, but I was told by others there that the drinks are strong! I saw they had truffle nachos on the menu and it's something I'd definitely want to try there in the future. Overall, this is a super cool place and I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
This is a super fun spot, and I plan to return when I am back in town. We were a group of five that ended up in the corner of the upholstered seating. The atmosphere and lighting was enjoyable; loud, but we could still have a conversation. The drinks were hit and miss. We felt that both of the watermelon sours (Gasoer Yanga and Frida Kahlo) were too sweet. The old fashioned (Don Pedro) and tamarind negroni (Zapata) were probably the favorites. Thanks to Alicia for ensuring that we were taken care of, throughout. It was definitely some of the better service received at the Cosmopolitan.
We had to look up directions just to find Ghost Donkey, as it's tucked away in the back of the Cosmopolitan's food court. Without prior knowledge, it would have been very difficult to locate. While the donkey image on the door is noticeable once you're close, many people dining in the food court seemed confused about why a line was forming outside what looked like a random door. We arrived right at the posted opening time, but the venue didn't actually open until about 20 minutes later. When it finally did, we were told there was only one staff member working. By that point, there were already around 10 people waiting in line. We were also informed that there would be no table service and that all orders had to be placed directly at the bar. The interior of the speakeasy is extremely small, which made the situation feel even more cramped and inefficient given the staffing issue. With only one person handling everything and no table service, it felt like ordering drinks would take a significant amount of time. Because of this, we decided to leave before placing an order. Overall, while the concept seems interesting, the lack of clear signage, delayed opening, minimal staffing, and very limited space made for a frustrating experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait during our visit.
I found this place, a few years ago, but never had a chance to grab a drink due to it being a bit packed. During this visit to Vegas, we were able to make it in and get a place to stand and have a drink. It was all about the experience in visiting a speakeasy. It all begins on the second floor eateries. There, you will see a small exit door with a donkey on it. Once there, push open the door to enter this hidden speakeasy. I love their simple decor and semi dark atmosphere. This being a speakeasy, it's mostly liquor based drinks but they have some other options too. Simple bar bites are also available. Most people went in for a few drinks and departed. It was a nice experience.
Always visit here when in town! Beyond worth it! Located in Cosmo, this is a speakeasy that odds ticked away in the back of the food court. Look for the door with the donkey. Very small and intimate space. Gets very crowded. You will understand once you go. Staff is super nice. Server was lovely and so very accommodating. The bar tenders know how to make a terrific drink. They have a wide variety of drinks! Lots to pick from. Went with margaritas- one regular and one mango. Garnishes are on point. They do have snacks to order. Do not leave without trying the black bean steak nachos. Seriously. Absolutely amazing. Don't miss out on this! Go!!!

A bit hard to find but once inside found the place full all evening after 9pm - only about 4 seating areas for couples or small groups plus a number of bar stools. Music was great and perfect level. Martinis were amazing and strong. The nachos as well were really great - we had issue with our waitress forgetting the nachos so we had to wait quite a while but they comped them for the delay at least which was great service recovery. It want to surprise your friends or date with a fun hidden gem this will do it. read more

Such a cute casual spot! I loved the location and after reading a few other reviews it was easy to find. Block 16 food court at the Cosmo, look for the exit door behind the chicken place. Walked right in and found a small table for the two of us, later moved to the bar. Loved the vibes here! It's a small bar so don't expect tons of seating, you need to order with the bartender FYI. If you're jonesing for at least one out of three, you're in the right place - just head to the back of The Cosmopolitan's Block 16 Urban Food Court and follow the proverbial white bunny, er, burro. ;) I'm a big fan of this tiny Mexican speakeasy, but recommend hitting it right at opening because it gets packed fast! Luckily, 4 pm is just about the perfect time for a stealth snack attack if you have late dinner plans... Pair a Watermelon Basil Margarita (sotol por siempre, rayu mezcal, basil, agave, fresh watermelon & lime juice, citrus salt) with Truffle Nachos (white cheddar sauce, black truffles, chives), and add steak to the latter - you'll thank me later! read more

The many times that I've been to Vegas, this is one of the few speakeasies that I knew about. It was well worth the journey through the Cosmopolitan to find lol. The servers were nice and accommodating. It is a bit small so be sure to get there early for seating. Oh, and the workers in the Cosmo do a great job not helping you locate this but that's the fun part! Just read reviews and follow the clues. read more
If it's a secret, I want in. If it's mezcal, I want in. If it's a cocktail, likely I want in. Combine all three of these and add in a ghost donkey surveying the whole scene, then, oh man, I've arrived where I want to be. I've been lucky enough to find/wander into a few of the "secret" speakeasies in Vegas...this one was only secret in that the entrance was tucked away in the back of the small food court area in the Cosmopolitan...but otherwise there was no gatekeeper or password...you just open the door and you're in. (it's also possible I was there at a lucky time when it was mostly full but not so busy that I needed to wait to find a seat or order.) The atmosphere is cool. I sat near the ghost donkey which is almost all I've ever needed out of any experience. I'm a fan of Mezcal and also of bourbon-based drinks like a Manhattan...so the mezcal-based "Smoked Corn and Coconut Manhattan" seemed like it would be a dream. And it kind of was. Perfectly mixed...familiar flavors but really unlike anything I've had before. I really liked it. My big plan was to head off to another resort to try a NYC slice but my server clued me into another secret of the Cosmopolitan, Secret Pizza, which was about a two-minute walk from Ghost Donkey. So basically what I'm saying is I'm moving to the Cosmopolitan to live there forever, drinking in Ghost Donkey and eating Secret Pizza. This was a really fun place to be and drink and helped round out a really fun night in Vegas. read more

Cute place! It was super crowded, as we decided to venture on a Saturday afternoon, but that was expected. There wasn't much seating, but we lucked into a group leaving a few minutes after our arrival, & we tucked away in a corner. The seating is a little awkward (think knees touching others, and the very real possibility of accidentally kicking expensive drinks over), but would definitely be a cool set-up for a larger party if you could snag it! There are only two options of a mocktail (lavender or watermelon), but that was nice there were even options! I enjoyed the lavender mocktail, and he enjoyed the Burro Tropical--it was fun we got to keep the little toy donkey garnish that came with the drink! I'd like to go back at a slower time to try the food, as it all sounded really delicious. read more

Ghost donkey is probably my favorite secret bar at the cosmopolitan! They specialize in tequila and mezcal drinks and offer light snacks like nachos. The bar itself is rather small with limited seating at the bar and 1-2 lounge chairs near the back. Definitely get there early before it gets packed! We tried the lavender vida loca and burro tropical. The lavender vida loca was just alright. The burro tropical was outstanding. The passion fruit flavors were so refreshing and fun. Definitely want to come back to try their other cocktails! read more

Favorite bar in all of Vegas. I come here every time I visit, although I never veered from their specials. Like others have suggested, I recommend either going right when it opens or two hours before closing (last call is usually 45 minutes before they actually close). Peak hours, you'll most likely be waiting for at least an hour. The bar is pretty small. Drinks are fantastic. It's a tequila/mezcal bar so don't expect them to have anything else! I'm a sucker for tequila and this bar satisfies my tequila tastebuds. Their specials are some of the best cocktails I've had so far! Service is great. Bartenders are nice, they'll help direct you to what you might like if you're not well versed with tequila/mezcal. I'm lucky enough to sit at the bar every time I'm there so the bartenders are always making sure you're ready for another drink! read more
Came to this nice, hidden, but delightful place with a group/casual business meeting. Very nice, dark setting with cute decor. Bar seating available as well as limited seating within. Very cozy place. I would not recommend for groups of more than 5! The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5! It is a speakeasy so you can't expect endless space however, it was a bit cramped! A few more corner seats would add an appeal. The server that we had was friendly and pretty fast. Since I happened upon this place for a quick drink with our group I did not view the menu for food items and if food was available. Being so small, I'm not sure food or snacks are served here. This place is in back of PLENTY of good eats and places to grab a bite on your way in or out. read more

My bride did her research and led us to the back of the food court and through a designated door into a heavily decorated dark speakeasy, and bonus we found seats in the back while many others were standing. Fun drinks and small menu as well as the mysterious ambiance give this place the air of exclusivity. Every time I visit the Cosmo I forget to stop in here and check Ghost Donkey out since after all it is a speakeasy tucked away in a corner. It's dark and small. There's some bar seating and then there's a couple of little tables and couches and things. It's a relaxing environment which was nice. Our server was very sweet and came right over to us. It didn't take long at all to get our drinks. I wasn't super impressed with the drinks unfortunately. I ordered the espresso martini and it was very cinnamon forward and I couldn't get past that taste. I may would see if they could omit the cinnamon on top as the garnish. Hubby ordered the Lucha libre it had mezcal and was very Smokey. It reminded me of whiskey and coke type drink. He felt like it was well balanced and good. We opted to not have another drink as they were getting busy and it was a little awkward sitting on the couch with people standing right in front of you. They do serve nachos which looked good however we didn't try them. Overall it was a decent experience not sure it would be somewhere I would stop by each time we are in town. read more

This is yet another speakeasy lounge in Las Vegas. Like several others, this is located inside a large casino hotel. This is both good and bad. It's convenient to get to if you're staying nearby and it's relatively easy to find. It can also be extremely busy. This is not a large space and there are no actual limitations to the number of people in the lounge. If it's packed, come back some other time. Otherwise, check out the tequila and mezcal cocktails. read more

This place is super cute. You never know it's there unless you're told. The service was good. We stopped in for drinks. We had spicy margaritas which really good. The only thing is the capacity is low so if there is a lot of people you won't be able to sit. The first time we stopped by there were no seats. Highly suggest checking it out. read more

We had such a great time at this place. The decor is so fun and the bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive. It's very small, so be prepared to grab a drink and stand until a seat opens up, but everyone in there is on the same page and friendly. Their take on the manhattan is delicious and the espresso martini was fantastic. No decaf option, but that's a pretty common issue at bars. The food looked and smelled incredible but we had dinner reservations elsewhere so we didn't try it on this trip. read more
Visited on a Friday night around 8pm. It wasn't hard to find with the help of some yelp reviews that do an excellent job of land marking where to look. When we first entered, it was packed. Lots of bodies and very little seating. My sister wanted to immediately leave. However, we waited about 5 minutes and were able to snag seating on the couch next to the entrance door. My husband and I fought our way over to the other side to reach where the bartender was serving drinks while my sister saved our seats. I ordered the lavender cocktail. It had a very Smokey flavor to it that I wasn't so fond of. We ordered the truffle nachos to share at the bar and they brought it over to where we were sitting. It was delicious!! I love the pretty and colorful lights and it has the perfect feel for a late night speakesy fun. Just wish it was bigger to accommodate the heavy traffic it brings. read more

I was able to snatch a table as another party was leaving and we got drinks from the bar. The cocktails were a-ok. Can't say I enjoyed either one. So adorable. Super cute spot. The drinks were very tasty and exactly the vibe we were looking for at that time. We had an unfortunate run in upstairs at another establishment and we were looking for a happy hour or just a fun energy hour. This spot was a wee bit hidden but ask around and look for the donkey. It was a little crowded but there was a waitress so we were able to order drinks and receive them in good time. We managed two little stools and a table to enjoy our drinks. The Donkey is hidden at the back of the Cosmo food court. The door under an exit sign has a Donkey on it; you need to go against your instincts and open it. Inside is a spot that holds less than 30 people and has excellent lighting and a fun vibe. All the drinks are Tequila or Mezcal. The bartenders rock and they never slow down. I had an old fashion made with Mezcal, and it was tasty. Enjoy the vibe the unique drinks, and move on for the rest of your Vegas evening. read more

Ghost Donkey shouldn't be a secret but perhaps better left to be one before they run out of space. I'm going to stay where Ghost Donkey is located other than its on the 2nd floor of the Cosmos. Once inside the space is limited and if you happen to go during peak times, its not for the claustrophobic. I got there just as happy hour ended and found a little space by the exit door that had a adjacent shelf. My server who was one of that bartenders, Kelly was so attentive and genuine. Matter of fact, everyone at Ghost Donkey was super chill and cool. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I took some additional time that Kelly gave and ended up ordering El Pistolero. El Pistolero is a great drink but it can be spicy for some folks. I have a high tolerance for all things spicy so it didn't bother me at all. El Pistolero does pack a punch. I would say its not a heavy pour but a damn good value pour for the price of the drink. In my opinion, you're not being overcharged. There are other drinks and some snacks. I wasn't sure what the plan was for dinner with colleagues so I took the opportunity to order some chips and salsa. There are different salsas with one of them having a habanero base. I believe its the green one. The chips are basic and perhaps too stiff / crunchy. There were not thin and crispy. I decided a needed a second drink and whatever the Octogenarians ordered with the pint sized donkey garnish was too cute to pass up. Kelly did warn me that the drinks was super sweet. I appreciate her letting me know and I was well prepared for the sour / sweet twisted face that I was going to make after my first slurp from the straw. The drink is meh. Look, if you're into that type of drink kudos to you. I would rather have another El Pistolero with guns blazing but the little donkey was too cute to pass up . I knew from the moment I saw it I had to bring it back for my daughter. I totally dig Ghost Donkey, it's place to visit, get your vibe on, meet some friends, get s drink with colleague but be forewarned the space is limited. You may jockey for a space multiple times during visit to get the seat you want. Kelly and staff were a 10/10 ~ True professionals in every sense of the word. So it's a hidden bar that you have to know where you're going in order to go ahead and find it. I thought it was pretty good though because I like hidden bars. If you read any of my reviews before you know I like hidden bars and speakeasies. If you go into Cosmo on the second floor, need to go to the food court, you can find this bar called the ghost donkey. You have to walk inside of the food court and then go behind hattie B'sb hot Chicken. Look for the donkey on the door to find the bar itself. It's a smaller space about 30 people give or take, but it's still a very full environment. The environment was very small but it was very friendly. As soon as we walked in the bartender definitely took care of us. Order some margaritas, which is nothing major, but they have a menu on the wall that has their specialties if you want to dabble in that. But, the margaritas were good though so I would definitely advise to suggest. It was the well tequila, and you know how sometimes the well liquor is lol. It is nothing amazing but is an experience you just have to go ahead and walk through and do if you're on the same hidden bar path that I'm on. read more
Pretty good tequila bar on the strip! Located in cosmo, ghost donkey is considered a speakeasy. It's super easy to find, especially since there's always a line into the place at 4 PM (when they open). They're pretty small, but loved the feeling of the bar. I would say pretty solid drinks, but not super consistent between different bartenders/ days. There were some days I felt the drinks were significantly better. I also ordered the truffle nachos one of the times that I went. It was super heavy and definitely more of a shareable than individual dish. I had to order a side of guacamole to cut through the richness. I didn't get a strong truffle flavor, so I would pass on these the next time. The staff here is always super nice! My drink (burro tropical) typically comes with a little donkey, but when I had gone they didn't have any for the day yet. Once they got a bag, one of the waitresses gave me one even though I already got my drink, which I thought was super nice of her. read more
Cute speakeasy in the food court of the Cosmopolitan. The bar is pretty small but has a great atmosphere thanks to the decorations and the clear theme. I got the smoked corn and coconut Manhattan because it sounded so unique, and it was pretty good for someone who doesn't usually go for a Manhattan. Very small. It's also very exciting to find this place. People and groups are constantly arriving here, some staying, some looking and leaving, some closing out and having their space open. The interior is unique and resembles a light party at a Quinceañera supply store. The bartenders and servers are surly and professional, so make sure you know what you want before they give you attention. The menu is very small - nachos and the like, but the real star of the show here was the cocktails. I had a smoky mezcal drink which was fantastic. Expensive, mind you, at $18, but very tasty. This location is no longer such a secret, hence the crowds, but it is fun, tasty, and worth checking out. read more

Located behind a door in the food hall, you'll find this small but quaint mezcal bar. It gets full quickly and seats are limited. You have to keep an eagle eye out for seats as they become available. We ordered: Lucha libre - I like this drink! Mezcal old-fashioned. It was ok. Burro Tropical. Too sweet! I ordered it for the burro adornment. Mezcal flight. THIS! Order this! The bar staff will help choose the Mezcal or Tequila. So many choices! If you're a small party then try this place out. If you have a big group, it may be hard to be seated together.
