We like to stop in here after grabbing a few handrolls from outside. The menu is short and sweet, they have some munchies if you're hungry. We tried multiple drinks. The bartender gave us samples of the stealth frozen bev, and a couples other samples we had questions on. Our bartender was great. He told us tips and tricks for our hotel, where to go and where to eat from his perspective. We ordered the chips and salsa trio and he immediately refilled our chips when we were getting low. Stopped by on Thursday before July 4 with our friends for the first time, and surprisingly made it on a "slow" evening before the typical night time rush. It's a "free" seating, so grab a seat where you can, and we were able to sit at the bar, quickly get served menus and had our drink orders taken. They are a tequila bar, so be prepared for a mostly tequila/mezcal based drink menu. This spot has been on go to list for awhile and its located on the 2nd floor of the Boulevard Tower. Attempted to go on a Saturday night, and the line went past Tekka Sushi bar. So I tried on Sunday right when they opened at 5 and got in. *salaries alert* the location is right in between the Hattie B's and Lardo. But more on the side of Hattie B's. There is a green exit sign and the door has a donkey on it. Like the other reviews state, it's a really small speakeasy. There's a few tables and bar seating. The staff is super chill and knowledgeable especially with the drinks. This spot specializes in mezcal and tequilas. Some drinks you can substitute the mezcal out for tequila but some you cannot. I ordered the Watermelon Basil Marg and asked to substitute the mezcal for tequila. This drink was so good and refreshing! Highly recommended if you're not looking for anything too crazy. But if you do like smoky drinks, then Def get it with the mezcal. I also ordered the truffle nachos, which I found underunderwhelming. There wasn't much flavor and not a lot of cheese. More plain chips than anything. I'd recommend to check this place out at least once if you haven't before. read more

A friend told me about this place and I'm glad we went to check it out in the Cosmo. The cocktails were absolutely delicious and well balanced. I don't like mezcal but I fully enjoy tequila so there were plenty of choices for us. My friend ordered the mezcal old fashioned and I was ready to sip and tell him it's not my cup of tea, however they did a really great job with this cocktail and it had a nice mild mezcal flavor due to the use of coffee liqueur so it was different from other mezcal drinks I've tried, it was very tasty. I actually liked it and could have drank that entire drink myself but it wasn't mine. Wah Wah. So I enjoyed mine, which had a lovely piece of fresh rosemary smudged, just like a sage bundle. It smelled so good! The lavender cocktail was also light and refreshing. We just needed a snack so we opted for the queso fundido. The chips were nice and crispy with a nice salt amount. The cheese sauce itself was yummy and the stuff they put into the queso added some nice flavors. Overall, I enjoyed this spot for a cocktail and snack. The minute I learned about Ghost Donkey, I knew it had to be on my Vegas "must do" list and it exceeded expectations. Ghost Donkey is hidden on the 2nd floor of The Cosmo in Block 16 Food Hall, bewteen Hattie's and Lardo. It opens at 4pm. It's a small space with limited seating so a line does tend to form. If you go when there's a line, I suggest grabbing a drink elsewhere for a little bit and coming back when the line dies down. Once we got inside, the staff was welcoming and the vibes were cozy yet exciting. I loved the quirky decor and variety of seating, although limited. All of the cocktails we got were phenomenal. And, shockingly, we loved the nachos, too. It is pricey, but you're in one of the best speakeasys on the Vegas strip. read more

Tried out this hidden gem inside the food court. The place is small and there are probably only 10 bar seats. Very bright and colorful inside. Plenty of tequila and mezcal drink options. On a stay at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, we heard of a little hidden bar on the property. I like a little adventure so we set out to find Ghost Donkey. Located in the back of the food court, look for the exit sign and you will see a door with a donkey on it. Enter and you will find this tiny bar that gives off speakeasy vibes. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. It is neatly decorated with hanging lights and a life size donkey on one wall. Seating is limited to the small bar and a few small tables off in the corner. I don't know what the seating capacity is here, but it felt more like a stand around and chill for a quick drink type spot. We were lucky enough to snag some seating and enjoy a few rounds. Customer service was good and the staff was very knowledgeable about their products and cocktails. This place exclusively makes tequila and mezcal drinks. I will say neither of those tickles my fancy but when expertly made into cocktails, I can dig it. Tequila brings out my fun alter ego, so when in Vegas I will imbibe. Prices are your typical Vegas prices but not too terrible. I went with the Burro Tropical, mainly because I saw it had rum in it. I love rum and was hoping it would be the more prominent taste in it even though it also had tequila in it. It also had passion fruit, lemon, ginger and soda. It definitely had tropical vibes not only in presentation, but also in taste. It was so good I had to get another. We ended up having more than one before dinner and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere here. They do have a small food menu if the munchies hit. We always end up at the Cosmo at some point for every Vegas trip and I would definitely come back! read more

If you can find Ghost Donkey I really recommend giving it a try. Its tucked away in a corner and you have to know how to find the door. But once you do its a fun bar to stop in. One warning is that its a small space and gets crowded quickly so try to come early. The bar tender was very nice and even with as busy as they are they make the effort to be friendly. It's a tiny space, and when we walked in, it was completely packed-which is expected for a hidden bar, but it made it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. This hidden gem is an amazing place! It's not a big place so it can get crowded and the bartenders tell me that the people come in waves - so take a chance! The hunt for Ghost Donkey was fun - I walked by and missed it so I was on a back tracking route. I was so happy to finally get to the right place! Fortunately I did get a seat at the bar and the bartenders are super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I was between the steak and chicken mole nachos and the bartender said the chicken nachos were her favorite. Holy smokes! These might be the best nachos ever! Be sure to grab a menu book for an extensive list of drinks. We ordered from the list on the wall and didn't realized they had more options. This bar specializes in Mezcal and tequila. We got: -watermelon basil margarita: loved this but it was made with mezcal and I wasn't a fan. But my fiancé loved it. -Stealth margarita slushy: this was made with tequila which was to my liking. -Smoked corn & coconut manhattan: this was on the wall and not in the book. If you want seating, you should come on an off time or probably a day that's not a weekend. I'm not the biggest fan of tequila but I was pleasantly surprised by these drinks. The first time I had mezcal was here and now I'm addicted to the smoky complex flavor. Most of the drinks here are tasty and interesting but the spirit forward drinks were a bit of a miss for me. Always a must visit in our Vegas trips! The spot is a perfectly hidden, but not too hidden, locale behind the food court. Look for the exit with the so key and you're there. First entry might seem a little odd, like am I really going the right direction, but as soon as you open the door your transported to a fun little spot. My husband loves it, so I was going to make the best of it for him. I got the Pistolero, a pepper inspired tequila drink (my weakness is peppers). It was delicious! My husband got the Altos Paloma and really enjoyed how tart it was. We ended our experience with sharing a Burro Tropical, which is more like a tiki drink. Slide your self past the white donkey and you will find yourself swept away to Mexico. Mezacal is my favorite thing on Earth besides my dog. If I could own a tequila farm I would. This place can get packed at certain hours like happy hour. Groups will come and go. It's perfect for a quick date as the music isn't too loud. The waitress is always nice checking on you.
