Horror themed immersive theatre experience. Ghost Hunter by Escape Room Era is more like being in a scary movie with actors, than an actual escape room. When they call this an "immersive theatre show," they mean it. This is a huge 3500 square foot location, and this lasts about 90 minutes long. While they say this is for groups of 4-12 players, it seems like 6(ish) people makes for the best experience here. Having too many people can get crowded, and having too few people means you may miss some of the interactive elements. Apparently there's an "extreme mode" where the actors are allowed to use tasers on you. We declined adding that to our experience. PROPS: To Kes, Wren, and Arshia, the team that was here when we did this experience SLOPS: It can feel strange to just wait out in front of the building, until someone comes to get you and start the experience. read more

What a fun experience! When they give you the choice of regular or extreme, do the extreme. I feel like it adds to the experience and fun. Came here with a big group and they accommodated us all. I'm a certified scaredy cat, but I survived. The rooms were really elaborate and cool and they really transformed the place. I think the rooms and the props were the most interesting and impressive, including the crawl spaces and stairs. More scary experiences vs puzzles. Get the footage too it's so funny. Great acting, great plot, great props and space. Tip: wear sneakers not clogs bc you will be crawling but they have soft pads. Ty Jana, Wren and James! This was such a fun experience!!!!! Decided to go with this place for my birthday because we had a fairly large group (12). From the beginning they let us know if we wanted to do normal or EXTREME depending on your comfort level, very accommodating! Without giving away too much, I can say it was a plot twist that I didn't expect! I'm not someone who likes escape rooms or horror themed events, but I enjoy trying new experiences so I went with friends who like horror themed immersive experiences. I didn't realize the cast would be paying attention to us participants from arrival time because once I learned there would be contact I expressed my dissatisfaction, as I don't want to be touched. I'm guessing they heard me and respected that because no one touched me and I had a great experience. My more hands-on friends got their desired experiences and they too had a great time! LJ, Jana and Wren did a great job! Note that you will need to be mobile and comfortable with tight spaces and being in the dark. read more

My friend group and I went to Ghost hunter not to long ago. I forgot the names of the guys working there but it was a tallish guy with a beard and a girl with really really long hair it was on a Friday night. Anyway, the experience was really fun and we did extreme mode. They were in character the entire time and as idiots and chaotic our group was they stayed in character and were just amazing. The missions were great. Even after a few of my friends did get tased apparently they would pick them up so they could keep running without saying if they are okay until the end. A few of us got hurt but that's cause we ran when we weren't suppose to. At the end the end they took care of us and made sure we were okay. I hope to see them again if we ever come back. Absolutely Terrifying Fun - A Must-Try for Horror Fans in South OC! As a huge fan of the paranormal and all things horror (Project Fear on YouTube is my jam!), this experience was everything I hoped for and more. Ghost Hunters by The Escape Room Era is one of the most thrilling horror experiences I've done -- and trust me, I've done a lot. The story is immersive and creepy: you're brought in to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a previous team of ghost hunters, and from the moment you arrive, the tension kicks in. We went with a group of 4 (though it fits up to 12), and it definitely tested our fear levels. If you've got some scaredy cats in your crew, make sure to bring a few brave souls to keep the energy balanced . The experience is still new, and while it's already a blast, I think with a bit more investment into upgraded props, tech, and set design, it could be next-level phenomenal. I've also done the Weeping Witch escape room, and if Ghost Hunters received that same level of investment in props and technology, they would absolutely kill it in the horror experience industry. The concept, the live actors, and the potential are all there -- it just needs that extra push in production value to make it truly elite. What really stood out was how real it felt -- I honestly felt like I was part of the Project Fear crew, investigating an actual haunted location. The live actors (huge shoutout to Gaige, Jacob, and Sawyer) absolutely killed it -- their energy and commitment made everything 10x more intense and fun. As someone born and raised in South Orange County, I was so excited to find something this good right here by home. Usually I have to drive far for quality horror experiences, so this was a total win. If you're into immersive scares, paranormal vibes, and creepy investigations -- Ghost Hunters is absolutely worth trying. Can't wait to see how it grows... I'll definitely be back as they said they change up the story line for Halloween read more

Want to first start off by saying I LOVE horror escape rooms. I have quickly gone through majority of them throughout SoCal area, and Ghost Hunters did not disappoint. Jana, Wren, & James made my experience with friends the most exciting yet. We opted for the extreme level (included tasing, touching/moving, etc), and that was definitely added an extra layer of thrill. This review is overdue. First off, I want to thank the following staff members present for putting together an awesome experience. Special thanks to Jacob, Gaige, Jorge and Logan. The enthusiasm that you all put into your work really made for a fun experience. At the end of the experience, our hosts were kind enough to show us around the entire facility with the lights on and allowed us to ask questions about various aspects of the room. It was nice to be able to talk to the team and understand their thought process behind their work. It isn't just some experience where they charge you a lot of money just to scare you. The rooms within the entire facility were well designed and there was a simple yet very intriguing story. My friends and I had fun with the story and being scared. I thought our game hosts complemented my group's chaotic fun energy, which made for an even better experience. I won't say too much other than it's a great experience for anyone who enjoys some physical exercise and a good scare. I'll leave out all the details as to not spoil anything, but if you're going in with a good group that doesn't take it too seriously, you'll have a lot of laughs while being scared. Janna and kes did an incredible job being scarers when my friend group and I went. They were the only ones working and made it feel so surreal. Super talented duo that will make it very far in whatever they choose to do in this profession. Had a great time!! the actors stayed in character well and the experience was unlike other horror escape rooms I've been through. Gage, Winston, and Jacob held a great game for us and I appreciate all the effort. The only thing I wish was different was a little more light. I want to appreciate/explore the set more but it's pitch black. I also understand It's hard to find the in between because you don't like it to be too well lit but it would be cool to see some stuff. My friends and I did ghost hunter back in April. It was scary but the lack of lighting really took from our experience. We went again yesterday and WOW they have really upped their game. Whoever set up their lights deserves a raise. It truly made the experience NEXT LEVEL. Gauge and Jacob were phenomenal.
