Was excited to try this place out, since I had seen good reviews on Yelp, but sadly, it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. We showed up on a Friday night and the restaurant was much busier than we had anticipated. There was a wait, but based on the crowd, we figured it must be pretty good. Once we were seated, we were served slices of a warmed garlic butter baguette, which wound up being the highlight of the meal. We ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo and pasta carbonara. The sauces on each of these were very blasé. They each tasted like a store bought sauce, but what was more off-putting was the color of the food. I've never seen a whiter plate of food when we received the chicken Alfredo! There was zero color in the plate. I think the chicken was boiled (?) it was not seasoned, in any different fashion from the rest of the pasta or sauce. The chicken carbonara may have been better because there were green onions served as garnish, but besides that, it was also very plain. The food did not taste authentic. I was hoping it was going to be like I was eating out of my make-believe Italian grandmothers kitchen, but it tasted like something I'd make better at home. Love their pasta with one meatball and cut up sausage links. Their sauce was excellent! Their sausage definitely was Italian - great flavor. My wife had a chicken dish with artichoke hearts. Great experience! The feel was family owned, staff had the most observed teamwork and available to assist any guest in need of a question or request. Darling decor for the Christmas season that felt classic and warm. The staff was dressed for the Season. Met the owner, that was a former patron and now proud owner, passionate of her restaurant. This is a great little Italian restaurant. The service can be slow, but the food makes up for it. If you like wine, ask for the owner. She knows her extensive wine selection and last time she even told us about one that was not yet on the menu. I am always a little hesitant to eat red sauce out (I make one I like a lot) but their sauce is very good. It is a sweet sauce, and has lots of flavor. read more

We arrived at 6:30ish, our party of seven was seated immediately. The tables are spaced nicely. They have live music. The waitress initially was prompt and took our drink orders. They brought garlic bread, that was a bit stale or maybe just under the warmer too long. We placed our appetizer order and some ordered salad. Our waitress made no attempt to offer to others if they'd like a salad. Appetizers come with salad, we add additional salads. Salad was good, good dressing. Appetizer of bruschetta was served on a salad plate and there were five toast with a nice amount of bruschetta on top but I would have preferred the toast to be loaded less and more toast. Everyone around us, Even people who came in after us, were eating their entrees. We are waiting and waiting. Finally she says we are next. We wait. She comes back and says she will bring the kids food. Then she comes back with food for the table, finally. Hubby's lasagna is beautiful and hot but the presentation is lacking, hot dish served on a salad plate. Daughter's fettuccine Alfredo is served in a small bowl I ordered the special and it was cold. They brought me another and it was hot and delicious but everyone else had finished eating and was ready to leave. The waitress offered no dessert. Staff very uptight and snotty during the meal. Ate there with my family last night, went to see a movie after so we carpooled and left our car in the shopping center- not in front of their restaurant, just in the shopping center. I was sitting in my car reconnecting with my cousin and they called the cops on me. I work in the restaurant business and I would have never done that. This restaurant must be very slow or they are ignoring their duties to be sticking their heads out the window repeatedly while we were talking to see why a car is in the shopping center. If I was parked right outside in the direct parking lots in front of the restaurant, maybe I would have but I was hundreds of years away. The cops saw my anxiety and depression medication and searched my entire car. Nothing came of it except you making my life worse so thank you. Wish I could give a negative star. read more

I came here for a work dinner. We reserved the back room and the set up was nice. The place was a little hard to find. The restaurant though is set up very nice. It has a casual feel to it, even though the decor seems to be more upscale. Since we had a large group (about 20), we had a set menu (with 4 courses). There were a few servers who took our drink orders beforehand. We had appetizers (fried ravioli with marinara, and bruschetta) which were very good. Then we had salads. I had a house salad with vinaigrette dressing. Next came the entrees and the amazing garlic bread. I had chicken fettuccine alfredo. It was good, but I have to admit my dish was not garnished like some of the other plates were. It was just simple fettuccine alfredo on a plain white plate. They could have at least thrown some kale on there to add some color to the dish. The food was good though and the portion was big so I ended up getting a box to go. For dessert I had a cannoli. It was alright, but it had way too much cream on it so I ended up scraping most of it off. Out of all the food I had, the garlic bread was my absolute favorite. It took so much self discipline to not eat the entire basket by myself. Italian food is one of my favorite cuisines, so I was pleased with the food. After reading reviews on Yelp we Wife and ) tried Gianna Italian Restaurant last night June 14 2023. We apparently visited on a bad night but it was a disappointment. After being seated we waited 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table and hand us menus and take our drink orders. Gianna's was not busy. when she returned 10 minutes she delivered our unsweetened tea and took our order of salad, appetizer and main course and immediately left before we could ask for sweetness for our tea. None was on our table not even napkins or salt and pepper. My wife watched our waitress turn in our order and grab her phone and lean against wall and go nose deep. She was a young teenage girl who reminded us of our oldest daughter from 20 years earlier In college. When our salad was brought we asked for sweetener which she brought and dropped three packets of sweet&low beside me. Salad was good. Our appetizer was brought out sometime later of mushrooms and crabmeat. It was awful. It was prepackaged swill. We both nibbled one and put it back. Our main course came 5 minutes after appetizer. My wife's Seafood Ravioli was very good. My spaghetti 1/2 & 1/2 was disappointing. Marinara was so sweet it tasted like sugar gravy, the Italian sauce was good but the single meatball tasted bland and had a bad aftertaste. The appetizer and my spaghetti were not eaten. My wife and I are retired. We eat out 5-6 times a month as a couple. We also eat out with our children and grandchildren as a family gathering 4-5 times a month. We celebrate as a family every Sunday with meals and on birthdays. My wife and I do all the recon for family. You have one time to impress us. I'm afraid Gianna's didn't. It's a pity. Right up the road a block Goodsons Restaurants our go to restaurant for over 20 years. My grandsons love their big chicken fried steaks. Loved to have found another treasure in Tomball. We tipped 20% because we're Texans. Their prices are great but food lacking. Sorry Gianna's. read more

Server took our drink order and asked about appetizers. We tried the fried ravioli. Unfortunately, it tasted the same as any other place except the sauce. It was a little too sweet. The Wife ordered the trio with lasagna, cheese manicotti, and veal cannoli and I had the spaghetti half and half. One meatball and Italian sausage. The Wife liked her meal which had very generous portions. The only problem was the very high temp it was brought out and stayed at for quite some time. She really liked the veal cannoli even though veal is not usually her favorite. She too commented on the sweetness of the sauce. She also had the Caesar salad which she didn't like much, the dressing was a vinegar stet type she didn't like. My dish was okay. Sauce too sweet but the meatball was great. Menu said house made sausage but i can't vouch for that. I had the mortadella and mozzarella salad with greens and creamy Italian dressing. A good salad but a little overdressed. Very good food, great atmosphere, & a decent price. I had the Fett. Chicken Alfredo & wife had a ravioli dish & both were delicious! The only downside was that when you get the "appetizer" portion it's really an appetizer portion! Small (no pun intended) but still wanted to point it out for those first timers. So I can't even leave a review about the food since I left due to them not being able to take a drink order. Waitresses walked by our table countless times and neglected to take our drink order. The food here is very good. I love their cream sauce inspired dishes. I was pleasantly surprised when I accidentally got clams on my last visit--it was perfect. Their farfalle pasta is also a good choice. The ambiance is casual, although don't be surprised to see some better dressed patrons in here. Friday nights are busy, so be prepared to wait at least 30-45 minutes, which is not bad for the outer Houston area. The bar could be slow, but if you are waiting for a table, that could be a blessing. We only managed to take in a couple of drinks. Giannasis one of my favorite places for Italian food. My favorite it the manacotti spinach with Alfredo sauce. It's best to eat in house because it comes out hot and fresh. Now if you get this to go it will cool down facmst and not be as fresh. But they understand great food. read more

We were the first to arrive at 11AM in hopes of great service. 1 hour and 20 minutes later oir food still had not arrived at the table. We decided to pay for our ice tea and leave. The manager finally came out with food and was told by waitress that we were leaving. He said " okay "and turned around to take the food back to kitchen without another word said to us.
