The Hot Bar food is worse than bad. Definitely not the types of food you would expect in an upscale neighborhood. It looks as bad as it tastes. If you value your privacy when discussing your script (and who doesn't?), you should probably use a different pharmacy. If you would like the name(s) of your medication to remain PRIVATE when picking up, you should probably use a different pharmacy. And, if you would like to be treated in a fairly courteous fashion, you should most definitely find another pharmacy. By now, most people know that HIPAA PRIVACY LAW exists to protect a patient's personal information. That would include NOT 'announcing' patient specifics. Embarassing! Negligent! Note: the pharmacists on duty have been helpful. It is other staff that CLEARLY need higher supervision and/or training. I have never seen such little discretion used in any pharmacy. Ever. As a healthcare professional, I find it unbelievable. So, if you don't want your neighbors over in the frozen food aisle to know your business, take your script elsewhere! read more

One star for unfortunate and unnecessary customer service. The store itself is like any other Giant you'll encounter in the United States; if that doesn't help, think of a Safeway but with different branding. This rating is due to the older gentleman who was behind the butcher counter. The guy with the beard but I don't think he was a hipster. When we asked for these two cuts of beef, he not-so-politely said "which ones? I can't see through the metal." Yes, there was a metal countertop but in any other butcher shop I've been in, they've had the names of the meats on their end, too. He played this game twice. Once he prepared the beef and handed it off, he ran off. However, we had a question: does he have a suggestion as to how to best prepare this cut. In the Millville DE store reigns an amazing employee in the Bakery Dept. Becca (sp?) is so helpful with all questions and requests as it relates to the Bakery area but also knowledgeable about the rest of the store and the Giant promotions. She is friendly and fun but stays on task, working as she answers questions. Very impressive. read more

We have come here for years. When Giant first opened, it was wonderful. Then they changed their interior and places of items. At one time all vendors had to leave by 7am. Not any more. Now the aisles are always crowded with displays and vendors. Not a pleasant shopping experience even in the off season. Every New Year we have ordered our shrimp there. In the past few years it was always good. This year, however, it was mushy, over cooked and certainly not fresh. We will not do that again. Bring back the old Giant. read more

The cashiers used to be kind and courteous. Not so much anymore. It's super crowded with people from the city who are so entitled. You should get out of THEIR way. Got to the checkout and ready to pay and the card reader wanted me to use the chip option. No problem until it asks me to choose Visa Debit or USA Debit. WTF? I've never been asked that question at a card reader before. I chose Visa Debit and it did not ask me for my pin number. The next thing that happened was that my card was declined. I knew it wasn't because of not enough funds because I had just made a cash deposit before shopping at my bank across the street. I was dumbfounded. Well apparently I was in everyone's way including the cashiers'. She asked me if I had another way to pay and I said no and that was all it took for her to have someone void me and send my cart to the front desk area. I was trying to call my bank to see what the problem was and my bank called me right away to explain that since I was shopping in a different area and using my card as credit that it put a flag on it and cancelled it. It got reinstated immediately. Had I chose USA Debit then my card would have prompted me to put in my pin number and it would have gone in as a debit and probably not been cancelled. If she could have waited just a few minutes for me to figure out what the problem was. But no she had to treat me like I was checkout roadkill. So embarrassing. How many times have I waited behind someone while they figure out what in the hell they are doing or trying to pay or whatever and it takes a long time. But no let me get up there with a problem and hell no they can't wait for me to figure something out. I wanted someone, anyone to know what happened and no one seemed to give a damn. I finally went to the front desk to retrieve my groceries and still the lady there was impatient and was selecting for me the options and not really listening to what I had to say. If it wasn't for my kids and their food I would have left it all there. Once I got to the car then I called and asked to speak to a manager and the first time I was on hold for about 8 minutes or so. I called again and finally got to talk to a manager. I asked them if they were interested in how my experience at Giant was and she listened to what I had to say. She said that card system has been in place for about 6 months. OK well I had no idea. It is the first time I have ever had that kind of experience. Cashiers should be trained on diplomacy when someone's card fails because sometimes it is not their fault. She could have been a little more helpful and realizing that this system is a little bit different and that picking a different option can make all the difference. I'm on the phone with my bank trying to follow my groceries so I don't lose them. I felt like a douche bag. I don't care how many people are waiting. I'm every bit as important as they are. My money is just as green. read more
