Craving pizza, but don't want to go with the traditional fast food pizza chains ? This small pizza joint is in Santee next to the famous Mary's donuts. Called in my order and was greeted with a friendly female cashier. Very patiently made suggestions on what would feed a family of 7. When we got there to pick up the pizza it was ready in 20 minutes. The place was clean, but they were mopping and floor was a bit slippery. The pizza was teenager approved, but the adults felt like it needed more sauce and/or cheese. I'm always greeted by owner Ray who is a personable owner who cares about you and your order. They make there own Greek dressing and in my opinion it's delicious. This little pizzeria has been serving the area for many years and is deserving of your business for putting out a consistently good product. Can't describe how good the food is here. Just had the lasagne yesterday and it was delicious. The lunch-size (small) salad with gyros or chicken is a satisfying dinner when I'm not in the mood for pizza. Typically, we are happy with the food and service. However, tonight, we had the opportunity to see our delivery driver come up the street. He was certainly not driving an appropriate speed for a residential neighborhood. Being that at any time kids and people enjoying the outdoors could be in the street. An hour later I contacted SLICE, the delivery service that deals with this business & was told by Matt I'd get it anytime because the driver picked it up & was on the way. Another half hour went by & I was told by Tara that the order was delivered & I should look around to find it--well it wasn't on either porch which has a camera with motion sensors on each. The cameras alert me when someone is there at the door. I gave directions which were very easy but the driver either can't read or follow directions. Good quality and a tasty pizza. A few problems with the workers not paying attention to the order. All of the following happened within the pst 6 months or so. I ordered two pizzas and when I got there only one was ready. I waited for the second, which defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. On two later visits, they put toppings on only one side of the pizza. This wasn't requested. I was trying to setup our of my normal rotation of pizza joints to try a local place. I was so disappointed with my pizza. I order a large pizza, half veggie/no cheese and half cheese & and order of breadsticks. Visually the pizza looked delicious, but upon eating it it was so bland. The crust alone had no flavor and was hard, the sauce tasted like crushed tomatoes from the can. It seemed like no seasonings were used, not even salt. The only enjoyable part were the breadsticks. If the crust of the pizza tasted like the breadsticks it would have been much more enjoyable. My family and I only ate 2 slices before going back to our usual pizza joint. OK maybe not the place to go for "New York" pizza if your from New York, but they have decent super sized giant pizzas for a good price. I have only tried their pizza and Greek salad, both left me satisfied! They have some reasonable combos from like $3, or you can get a pizza big enough to feed 20 people. They also have gyros, shrimp, wings, fries, and some other stuff I may try one day and a couple cheap draft beers on tap. They do have a few small tables, but it's not the kind of place to "go out to eat" more of a take out or delivery meal.
