Even after 37 years of going to giant pizza king, (I'm 40) I still get mind blown when I eat their pizza. Fresh ingredients, quality ingredients and not skimpy. Customer service is fantastic! They go above and beyond to say thank you in different languages since we live in city heights aka diversity heights. My girlfriend and I found this place while going for a walk on University. We are really glad we stopped by! We got a calzone with Italian sausage, pepperoni and green peppers. It was huge!! And absolutely stuffed with ingredients! Loved that they added pepperoncini on the side, too. I was surprised it really wasn't that greasy compared to other calzones I've had. I was disappointed that I had to ask for tomato sauce for dipping. And they only ended up giving me one small cup of it, which was not enough for the entire calzone. Surprisingly, my girlfriend really enjoyed it and she's never liked calzones before. For the price, this was definitely worth it and we'll be coming back. read more

Just received the order. Visiting San Diego as felt like a pizza. I look at the rating in Grubhub 4.9 so order a Giant pie and mozzarella sticks. To say I very disappointed would be an understatement. The pie's crust was undercooked, the pizza sauce taste was sub par and just blan, and the pepperoni was very sparse. came here on a late night with my bf looking for somewhere they sell individual slices, when we saw they had none displayed we were headed out until 1 of the workers told us they can make them so we stayed! my bf asked for sausage and i cheese, they out ground beef on his, not sausage so he had to take it off. We've been coming here since we moved to normal heights area back in July. The pizza is quality you can really taste the ingredients. My husband is super pickup when it comes to pizza and he still hands down thinks this pizza place beats pizza hut Papa johns other pizza joints etc. The staff is always very friendly and the prices have always been accurate. I get food to go very occasionally. After each time,I promise myself it will be the last. Sometimes after work I'm just so hungry, & it's late, & I can't wrap my head around food prep at home. So I try again, usually with something I haven't tried before. BAD idea. Tonight it was a hamburger with fries but everything I've had from GPK has been awful. The burger was made of some sort of mystery/prison-level meat that tasted strange. The bacon that was supposed to go with it was skimpy, fatty & had not been cooked long enough to render the fat. The chopped onions/lettuce were chopped too small, as if meant for something else, so that they kept falling out of the burger. Everything was over-salted (& I love salt). Only thing that didn't make me feel sick is the fries - seem frozen but they're okay. In the past have had a meatball sub, the "fish & chips" & the pizza. Everything so bad I wish I'd just opened a can of soup or cooked a couple eggs at home. My only guess, re: these guys' staying power, is (1) there are very few restaurants in this neighborhood & (2) their customers... such as college boys, who may just have never had really good food. So they don't know...? 'Cause all these guys really do is assemble food & throw stuff from the freezer into a fryer. Would guess from their work that maybe they don't even like food, or their jobs, themselves. I'd try to get my money back but the last thing I dislike about this place is the service - all men, & they have kind of an attitude toward women -verging on rude. No more Giant Pizza King! I went here today to pick up an UberEats order for one of my customers and the guy working was VERY rude. So, I snapped back at him because do not disrespect me for just walking into your shop and not placing the pizza where YOU want it placed in MY car. Hubby decided to surprised me and ordered from here for the first time. I didn't know what he ordered until it showed up; delivery service was pretty fast since we were only about a mile away. Hubby ordered what looked like an appetizer sampler and a 3 topping pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and ham; glad to see delivery included plates,napkins,some crushed red peppers, and parmesan cheese packets, but no marinara sauce for the mozzarella cheese ( I was really disappointed that it was just one main sauce, which tasted like their house made ranch).
